I have had the Note for a couple of months (bought in India) but don't use it as a phone. When I recently needed to, I tested it by making a call to it from another phone. The two buttons came up (red and green) but touching them had no effect. I was unable to reject the call nor answer it. If I set the "answer with Home button" option, I can then answer it with the Home button, but I still can't refuse a call. Am I missing something?
I dont know why your phone is not responding to the touch but u can reject a call using power button
Settings < Accessibility < Power button end calls

You have to slide it to the right or left based on arrow direction! Just touching it won't help! You've to read the manual if you're using it for the first time!

If I dial a number and press the connect button on my Diamond the call will not be put through.
I have to first save the number into my contacts and then browse my contacts and hit connect to make a call.
A friend of mine has the same problem on his S710 so I think this must be a setting thing rather than a problem thing with my Diamond.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks for the help!
I was having the same problem. Did you install AE button plus or another key mapper? This was what caused my problem when I remapped the green button single click to "phone" instead of "press green button".
Haven't installed any key mappers, came like this out of the box.
I sent the phone in for repairs last Friday. It was getting boiling hot on charge or GPS, then on Thursday nught the screen stopped working.
The guys at HTC say the main board and the screen bezel are both buggered and so the will replace the parts by Friday!
Thanks for your help though.
Hey,
I recently received my G1 back from HTC after a repair, However I have realised that it has acquired a new problem since its return. For some reason if you press to hard on the 'Chin' or lower part of the phone where all of the function buttons are such as, Menu and call buttons, the screen will fade to black and will only re-appear on double pressing the end call button, however this doe not always fix the problem. This has become a problem when using the phone as it is very frustrating for the phone to go black and having to double press the end call button inevitably exiting the current application.
I'm reluctant to send it back as I do not want to wait and was wondering if this is a common problem or whether someone suggest something that I could do.
Many thanks
hey guys sometime when i get and incoming call my phone start acting up and i cant slide up to take the call, my screen wont respond and no hard keys to press if some one know how to fix this please let me know if not im giving this wp7 a 2nd software update a chace to get this right. ms should be a genieus when it comes to software not apple or google. you never know when a emergency call comes in and you could not get it, im so concern about this. i had enough with 6.5 now this. but the problem is that i love ms i keep coming back. ****tttt
if a soft reset doesn't fix it you could hard reset. Just make sure you make a list of installed apps to make sure you get them all back on there.
I hadn't heard of this happening before.
I had the same problem once. I just switched the display off and on again (while the phone was still ringing) and then I could take the call.

+1 this happens from time to time.
hit the POWER button to shut of screen, this just powers of the sound and display and does not efect the incoming call.
Press the POWER button to turn the screen back on where you still see the incoming call and the screen will now respond correctly allowing you to answer.
no need to rest or anything.

+1 Me too.
Is there any remedy to this issue???, i'm having the same thing
I'm using Zeus 6.11. This is perhaps a "feature not a bug" but I'd appreciate an explanation from those who know!
During a call, the screen detects when it is near something (a face!) and switches off. Great - but when I need to input numbers during a call, it keeps switching the screen off when I move my hand near it.
Is there a way to disable this so that I can input numbers during a call?
Thanks, and sorry for the stupid question if it is one (it probably is).
just try not to block the distance sensor which is next to the front camera(including ur hands and fingers)...the screen will light up automatically..

Just make sure you don't have the "Settings->Accessibility->Power button ends call" checked
It took a day to figure out why pressing the power button ended the calls, i forgot about this option and there was nothing related to it in the Calls section.

to be honest I've never saw that option... but [I've just checked it out ] it's true... but since is disable by default I think it should represent no problem
Hi Everyone,
I have been using my HTC Velocity the same way for a considerable time, and just today I noticed that it has started to malfunction.
Traditionally when I have been on a call, and the call has gone on for some time, the screen 'turns off' - this is normal! Normally I would then press the power button (at the top of the phone), and the screen would 'turn on'. I would remain connected to the current call, and I could then use the phone to check messages, email, etc.
However now when I press on the power button the phone hangs up my current call.
I am wondering if there is anyway of fixing this?
Kind Regards,
Davo
