[Q]boot.img extract, what is it for? - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hai guys...
I hope I didn't repost. So have you ever extract your boot.img. Once you did it you will have several file in it like init.rc, init.goldfish.rc, init.qcom.post_boot.sh, init.qcom.rc, init.qcom.sh, etc.
So can somebody tell me What are these files? What these files for? and what could we do with these?
Thanks before and i'm sorry for my english.

Boot.img is the kernel .. Which include Over clocking etc
Si usted le da respeto luego de tomar Respeto .. Cuidado con él ..

i never touch kernel files, because i have no idea what to do with them, but you can customize boot splash image (tass.rle) after you convert it to png, so you'll have your own picture instead of boring samsung logo

Boot.img contains zImage (kernel) and ramdisk (init.rc, init.gt-s5570.rc etc.)

dsixda's kitchen have option to extract boot.img

Guys i already succeed with extracting the boot.img...
And then i found that that some tweaking scripts is working when i put it in to one of those file, just like super v8 is working when i put it into init.rc.
So i am wondering what those file is really for?
Can anyone help me please.

Not many are experts in editing the boot.img here in the mini forum.. better search the whole xda for answers.. you can also try asking Doc..

Well changing the boot splash is quite hard .. tried several times but failed ..

Flashable ZIP for framework-res.apk files

download the zip, use winrar and delete the framwork-res.apk thats already in there, and put yours in.. also you can replace the systemUI.apk in the app folder but idk if that will make a difference.
cheers

I guess if you want to do a quick edit to framework-res and flash to check the edit instead of adb pushing it, at least that's what I think its meant for

Do you just install any 'ol zip you find laying around? If you knew what you were doing enough to need this you should know how to fix whatever went wrong.

Cook a stock rom

How can I cook the stock ICS rom?
I had experience cooking the Galaxy S2 roms but it is very diferent, how can i extract the system?
Hey,
If u mean by 'cook', zip modding(my opinion), then extract the ICS system img and make a zip file which includes the system and all the files and a x86 update-binary. Should be in one of the ROMs uploaded in this forum. But u will need a update-script from an ICS ROM. Maybe it is somewhere.
Than the your actual question about extracting the system.img, it has been asked a few times and been answered. I don't have the link, use the search function somewhere in q&a IIRC.

ah okey,
There is no such kitchen for the razr i. The only thing u can try is to use the tutorials u found and try to apply them on the razr i. Most likely u need to modify some things
