I don't think it's a stolen idea. When my friend bought a Lumia 710 I tried making my phone look like WP7 too. And that was probably before your ROM was announced.

METAInf folder has only the signatures for CWM flashing. Just do as I told you and it should work fine.
The apk's can be installed manually and docks png's need to be applied through the ADW or LauncherPro Dock settings.

Hi, I am wanting to become a ROM developer.
Where should I start? (I think getting a computer would be a good start, but i'm on this)
What language are roms written in?
I have very basic knowledge of Android app programming with eclipse.
Any help appreciated!

Begin with Soft-modding first.Try creating some of your own Soft-MODs. Experiment with AOSP ROMs. Understand the Android system.
Start off with Android's own guide at http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
Becoming a ROM developer isn't easy at all.
Regarding Programming languages, as most of the Android source code is in C/C++ try to master them first. Android apps are in JAVA, so you might need to learn it too (not actually required if you're just beginning).

Soft-MOD means you modify an existing ROM (any ROM), add your apps, remove some stock apps, change themes, etc.
To create a Soft-MOD, all you need is Root Explorer. But before that create a backup of your system and data in Recovery (for Precaution). Browse to your system directory, make it Read/Write. Remove any unwanted stock apps (like Dev Tools, Spare parts) or any app you don't want. Just delete the APK. Now add your apps to it. Just paste your app APK file from your SD Card (or from the /data directory) and change permission to rw-r--r--
After applying all the changes, reboot your Phone into Recovery and create another Backup (your Soft-MOD with your data), Wipe data/Factory Reset. Turn On your phone to check whether everything is working or not. Reboot into Recovery. Again Wipe Data/Factory Reset. Again Backup everything. This backup which you'll create is your actual Soft-MOD.
Copy it into your computer and upload it. Restore your system to the second backup.
This is just a basic way of Soft-MODing. Another way is to use DsiXDA's kitchen but it's bit advanced. Best of Luck!

the easiest is to do it with a cyanogenmod e.g muraiks rc5
DO A FULL NANDROID BACKUP FIRST
#
it might be that the kitchen sais its full just wait some time..
-first u should do all mods u like
-go on the bar to file upload and do either cm7 theme (recommended!!!)and upload a theme (e.g androidian, u find it in /system/app via rootexplorer, copy, not move !!! to sd card and transfer it to PC and upload)
or system files and upload framework-res.apk from the ROM and systemui.apk if you use gingerbread ROM, you find them via root explorer(copy, not move !!!to sd, then to PC):
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/app/systemui.apk ( i think)
then u go to summary and submit your work.
u will get a uotfile.zip after a quarter of time .#
this one you install via clockworkmod (recommended :3.x.x.x)
if you still have questions just ask

Hi,
This is for those who are crazy about Ice Cream Sandwich and love the transitions animations of Ice Cream Sandwich Rom. You will also get a ICS like lock screen, similar to the one in Music Edition Rom.
Please Make a Nandroid Backup Before Trying This.
Disclaimer:- I'm in No way responsible for any damage to your device. Do it at Your Own Risk!
This one is an update flashable zip and works well. So, check it out....
Follow these steps:
1. Download the File http://www.multiupload.com/U31C8UJ4HB
2. Copy it to the root (/) of your sdcard.
3. Go to CWM Recovery.
4. Choose Install Zip from SD>>Choose Zip From SDcard option and then select the ics transition.zip from sdcard and press Home button.
5. Wait till it finishes flashing the zip.
6. Reboot after done.
7. And that's it! You have cool transitions animations from Ice Cream Sandwich.
Note: It is not an ICS launcher neither it is a theme of ICS icon pack collections. It only has transitions animations from ICS.
I don't guarantee if it works. So, try and see for yourself! Don't Forget to Thank me if you like it.
UPDATED VERSION...
THANKS to crazy_k_p for his help to make this working. You can try his cm7 modded rom Music Edition here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329551 . New Version v1.1 is released today.

Best to push the framework in recovery and change permissions.
Even better if u use a flashable zip.
Now u can either do a nand restore or if u have backed up ur original framework push it.

I just added some transitions animations that I found somewhere in xda and followed the tutorial to make one for Galaxy mini too. But, it seems like it doesn't work.
Thanks! For those who have tried it... And Sorry it didn't work. Just restore your Backup and your device should be working. If you guyz want I can try to make it again though.

I pushed it to /system/framework and my phone was working fine --though I couldn't notice much diffrence with the animations. I thought it was because I was not used to such tweaks and noticing differences but, now I think it was not pushed at all. I guess I should try again. Will rebuild and try it again --maybe tomorrow.
I Tried to make one again and tried it on my phone... But, it always gives force closes. So, I guess either it is not in my hands to make such stuffs or the ICS transitions are not compatible with our mini...
YOU ARE RECOMMENDED NOT TO TRY THE ABOVE ON YOUR PHONE.
If you want do a nandroid backup first, but it is sure not to work.
Thanks to those who tried it.
Then it's best if u remove it and give link to the source, from where u got this. At least ppl who want to try it by themselves can have a go...like me.

Yes. Because the OP is saying he 'ported' the wallpapers, while he only repacked some images in a CWM package.
Furthermore CWM is not the most simple way of installing wallpapers. The most simple way is not ****ing with your /system/ and just downloading some images from a website - like imgur - and applying a wallpaper via Gallery.
Every user understands that and you don't have to be rooted or have CWM installed. And if you think CWM is the simplest way to install a couple of wallpapers you are just ignorant.

Or instead of creating a stupid CWM package you could just post the images themself: LG G flex wallpapers.

It's way easier to download one file than have to go and save each image separately. And just because it's a cwm flashable .zip doesn't mean you need to flash it. You can just use a file explorer app and extract the zip into a folder. It's a 2 step process. Download, extract. Your way is touch and hold, save. Touch and hold, save. Touch and hold, save. Etc.... I'll take the zip thanks!
