Auto-rotate not functioning? - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

In apps like YouTube or the browser it won't auto rotate I've checked the box and calibrated the g-sensor too. I'm running stock rooted ics.
Any help?

Did you try a battery pull? I had the same issue and a couple of reboots fixed it

try a factory reset

Im having an annoying issue with my Vivid where when im trying to play a video in the youtube app, and in landscape mode (full screen) my screen ALWAYS dims and its annoying since the video sometimes cant be seen clearly because of it. I flip it back to portrait and it goes full brightness.again. Anyone else have this issue? Or is there some fix?

Just finished setting everything up again. Factory reset seems to have done the trick. Ill update if it happens again

It friggin did it again!!!! Im outta ideas....
Edit: I think I figured it out... Sensor still working even if auto brightness is off, I have a pen with an integrated flashlight, and after pointing the light to the sensor in the phone while playing the video, sure enough brightness went back up. Same issue (or feature) that the capacitive buttons have, annoying nevertheless

Could be an issue with your ambient light sensor?

Maybe... Because I noticed that the same time the issue is ocurring, when I switch with auto brightness from full brightness, the screen stays the same till after i shut off the screen and wake it back up which is where the sensor kicks in

Hi,
I'm having the exact same issue as you. It happens regardless of how high the screen brightness is, and whether autobrightness is on or off.
It's nice and bright on vertical view, then as soon as you rotate it to fullscreen, the screen dims and it's almost impossible to see the video.
I'm running stock 4.0.3 on a Sensation XE, and I've done multiple full factory resets on my device, no joy.
Any ideas?

How to calibrate screen on cm7

I'm having issues with my auto rotate. When I enable it, it rorates itself. I use to solve this problem by calibrating the sceen in the settings. Now I can't find it in cm. I only know how to find it in stock.

Me and all my problems.

Seems like, few days after changing my usb conector port, my g sensor failed.:banghead: tried everything like format boot, install various roms, factory reset, etc. Now I'm using arhd rom and g senzor still not working. Found an app called rotation locker and I wish to put a shortcut of it on notification bar, so I can have access on it all the time when I want to use landscape mode. Is there any way to do it?
Also, if someone knows a way to fix my g sensor I would apreciate.

Found rotate app in the market and it's runing in background on nav bar. It's a great temporary solution. Thanx for support.

Have you tried calibrating your g-sensor? You might have unplugged it when you changed your USB port.
The bubles moves only when I hit calibrate. Do you have any idea where is the sensor? Cause I. 've pluged in everything

Try to recheck the ribbons, here is the manual
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68923799/HTC Incredible S Dissassembly - Reassembly.pdf
I've opened the phone once to change the USB port too, but as far as I remember all ribons that you detach should only LCD related, unless when you open it something went wrong. Just recheck with the manual
Thx for the manual. I opened the phone, cleaned it, putted every litle thing togeter and........ Still dead. Nothing works. It's faulty or i am blind.

Anyone still having issues with performance and reboots?

I am locked, stock and 4.2.1. I am still having major performance issues. Sometimes it takes a few presses of the button to wake up. If it wakes up in landscape, it takes forever to rotate and unlock. Updating or downloading an app? Forget doing anything else while that's happening. System freezes till app is updated or downloaded and installed. Also getting a random reboot about twice a week.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to know. I'm hesitant to factory reset, only because of game data and various other things.
Thanks

Turn of currents auto sync

That has been done, but thank you . Also cleared cache through storage setting.
I just cleared cache through recovery, so we will see how that goes. Didn't think of doing that before.

Factory reset is your best bet then if turning currents off did not work after you reset you can unlock and root to since you won't have anything on it anyways then you can back up if it happens again

I'm setup the same as you complete stock didn't even unlock the boot loader and I have no issues. So if disabling currents has no effect a factory reset might be necessary. I had to factory reset my gnex after 4.2 update for it to run right. Fortunately I got the 7 after update was available so updated it before I had any data.

settings>about software version
what were you running and what are you now running
other than that I dunno
You sure your camera button wasn't on your dock? When it is on the dock it will not show up in the app drawer.
As far as the device basically factory resetting itself..... I have no idea
