I'd just like to begin by apologizing for my noob-ness. Is the 2.2 Froyo with Sense ROM able to be
themed at all? I was wondering because I like the Sense UI and all, but it just doesn't feel like 2.2 for some reason. This also makes me question switching to CM6... Thanks to any answers given.

Get ADW launcher and some Adw themes from the market. Both are free.
Hope that helps.

there are skins available for sense, but none of them look like the standard aosp android.
if you want the aosp android look, i would definitely recommend flashing to CM7, which is 2.3 based.
Ah, okay thanks. I know its off topic, but since CM7 was brought up, how stable is the ROM? Ik its still in relatively early stages, but how is it problem-wise? I've been debating between my current 2.2 w/ sense vs. CM7.

It's pretty stable, if using the latest nightly. The RC1 has its issues.

Everything you need to work works. Its a stable fully functional rom for daily use. I highly recommend the latest nightly. And the theme Chooser built into the rom along with either adw (comes with the rom) or launcherpro (free in market) make it very customizable. in the visual department.

Hello I just upgraded to the team ics sgs rom and its amazing but I really love the Samsung extras that are on the official from I installed touchwiz 4.0 on here but I was wondering if there is a compatible Samsung messaging app similar to the one on the official gb ROM?

And the music app from stock 2.3.6 firmware?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
as I tried to explain in the other thread, 2.3.6 tw UI is much more usable and fits way better on sgs than ics.
you'll soon start to amass apps to try and replicate that usability, without getting it. That's why I'm waiting to see if sgs2 or sgs3 ics ports succeed. That'll give you both ics and full tw usability.
so far, sammy's gb vs ics is a trade-off between stability/usability and novelty.
Sorry, didn't realise three was a thread concerning this. And that would be great as for the Apps I'm doing that already but there's aspects of ics that are so great I've got a ported tw ui working on here I love it. Where would I be looking to see when the ported sgs2 or sgs3 roms come out for sgs?

not really. that is a cm9 based rom with tw launcher, and sammy colors and icons. As good as cm9 is (which is good indeed) but not a port of tw framework.

Those beta ROM's you're talking about are just Sense ROM's ported from the Sensation with many Sense parts removed. AOSP based ROM's such as CM9 and AOKP are currently being worked on. The Vivid has many unique aspects that make it more difficult to work with, e.g. our RIL, HTC's crappy job with source. That's why it's taking longer for things to be released.
No this one is aokp, check the flyer forum. It took the developer forever to figure out a graphic issue, and he finally did it, now him and another developer are making progress fast. There are ports as you say but this one isnt, there is no "sense" whatsoever with that rom.
Anyway I'm not asking for an eta, i just am wondering if any developer or developers are working on it?

NOOB QUESTION!! What's AOKP?
I'm a VIVID HOLIC!!
Its a KANG build. I don't quite fully understand it myself, but I think its basically an a seperate rom based off CM sources.
At any rate to sum it up anything that's cyanogenmod, AOSP (Android open source project) or AOKP (Android open KANG Project) is going to be based off google source code, and closer to stock android and typically won't feature any Touchwiz, Sense, or motoblur apps.
Thanks! I knew about AOSP but I've been away from Android for a bit and since I've been back there's been some new things lol. I didn't know what AOKP was or even Kang but you've cleared that up for me

its basically the same thing as AOSP except it has more features/customization

I'm was talking about the DeSensed, AOSP-like ROM's for the Vivid, I don't know anything about the Flyer. And yes work is being done on nearly a daily basis. You can track progress at the dev's git:

Guys, sorry if this is a dumb question. And sorry about my English.
Well, I need to say that I'm really jealous about Galaxy Nexus users and their original Android, with those main buttons on the screen, etc.
So, could you please say what's the most original Android ROM for Galaxy Note? The most similar possible to the original Galaxy Nexys ROM. Including those screen buttons!
Thanks so much!

What I mean is, with less "human interference" in it's "natural state"?

AOKG roms have more modifications than CM9. CM9 is more like AOSP that can run on any device. AOKP is like AOSP with highly customizable user experience, lots of new features to do with the launcher, system etc.

Ok, got it! After watching YouTube reviews about AOKP I saw that I can even change/add those softwares buttons in the botton of the screen. Pretty nice!
In terms of stability/bugs, at this time, CM9 is better than AOKP, right? Or they are the same?
My personal experience was that AOKP had a very slight performance edge but it suffered from SOD issues. CM9 has been stable and I am very happy with it.

Yeah, you are right, but this may not be a serious problem for me as I never use S-Pen. And this is so true that I have Galaxy Note since march and the only time I used S-Pen for real was playing with a friend that game that we use "#" and put "x" and "o" in the spaces. After reading a lot, this is what I think also. Same stuff of CM9 + lots of customization. What I'm afraid is that I'm reading more bug/reboots/problems reports on AOKP.
And don't you prefer the original ICS visual? Don't know why, but I didn't like this Galaxy S 3 design, both in phisical and software terms!

Thanks again! I'll give a try to AOKP and wait for Jelly Bean on CM10.
And I need to say that even now, using the official Samsung LPT 4.0 ROM, I have sometimes some problems, even random reboots! So these kind of problems really can happen everywhere, with everyone, anytime.
But one thing is for sure. My goodbye to Samsung ROMs! (At least I don't use S-Pen!)
The pen works fine on CM9. You just can't use any of the button functions, but that's not a huge deal to me. Palm rejection was finally added, which is what I was waiting for the most.

I'm currently satisfied with Stock, after trying 99% of the roms out there.
Now I want to flash MIUI v5 (3.9.13 is the latest as far as i know) and see if it is any good.
I see that MIUI isn't very popular here as it is on the Gnex forums or other devices such as sony and samsung forums.

Used it, was good but definitely not as slick and fast as stock. Also the recent task manager makes your widgets freeze I'd you clear all.

I use MIUI as my daily driver and I've got to say it is AMAZING!
BTW to get the Gallery and other devices to recognize your SD data you need a media scanner app
I use the Trinity Kernel and it rocks with great performance and battery life that fits my needs :3

All in all it may not be stock android

Why this is not popular here? Cuz there is no official rom for n4. All the versions you see here are ports. Miui experience is thus not the best, but its not too bad. Personally i am hooked to more features like pie and halo etc thus making miui a little less attractive.
What about the Miui roms you see on miui.com and xiaomi.eu/, are there any differences? Both are 3.9.13 and JB...

Looks pretty sweet...I've used the v5 theme, but the experience itself looks compelling, as do the themes:
