would partion sd card increase the phone memory ???
With script, yes. But if your sd card is low class, you'll have a bad time with that. Sd-ext partition will randomly break for no particular reason and you'll have to restore it regularly.
Any script ??

look this for CM

search S2E or link2sd
partitioning sdcard will not increase internal memory
but you can add additional memory to your phone with the help of scripts after partitioning
like using pen drive with hard disk

Some apps/games simply wont run directly from SD unless its on a data partition.
Use Data2SD instead of App2SD. The difference is that App2SD moves the phones data to SD card in normal way but Data2SD actually stores the phones data partition on a partition on SD instead so internal memory is extended to phone. (SD-EXT).
Get a rom that is tagged with either (data2sd, ext4, ext3, d2sd, etc).

hay TheATHEiST thank u but ur avatar ???? my name is mahmoud and iam`t a terrorist
A2SD+
We know you're not a terrorist. Just let it go.
For your problem, try MDJ's Cyanogen ROM; it has A2SD+, which moves apps to an ext3 partition on the SD card, much much stable than the simple A2SD.

Hello, guys!
Basicaly I want to improve my RAM memory by using Swap, but I don't know a thing about swapping...
I have a kingston 4Gb (class 4).
Can someone give me the link of a tutorial or semething like that? I searched and didn't find a specific tutorial for this.
Thank you in advance.
NOTE: I'm using GingerDX with Alfs v08a.
Swapper application is available on market..but it decreases your sd card life....you can try it...
Xperian8~ click thanks if it helps...

Yes I know that
I is just so simple? With a simple app I can do that?
And if yes, how much RAM can I add with a 4Gb sd card?
its easy make linux swap partition on your sd card and flash file from attachment in cwm! btw swaper can be very anoying!!!

Hum that was what I was talking about...
Just one thing: how do I make a linux swap partition? And how much memory should it have?
U can make swap partition using mini tool partitioner or in cwm in advenced menu! Just make backup before coz your SD will be formatted! 128mb will bee enough
Edit: backup SD! System is optional!

Or you can make ext4 partition.. after you choose ext partition cwm will ask you about Linux swap!

Im using custom roms for a while now (on GDX26 now). i just move apps to sd, havent done any partitioning and things. so can someone give me a proper noobs guide to app2sd and tell me whats about this sd partitioning and file systems and stuff?
anybody??? :/
Check if your recovery has a Partition option, this is the easiest way to do it. If yes, you only need to give the size that you desire for the partitions. WARNING: all your SD data will be deleted.
If no, you need to use a PC Program, like minitool partition wizard, to create the EXT partition. It's easy: shrink the fat32 partition and create the EXT partition using the left space. The format must be EXT4.
Hopefully, your phone will recognize the EXT partition and will mount it

Thanks guys
but can you tell me whats the difference between native app2sd on 2.3 and app2sd with sd partitioning?
oh and whats this swap? its some sort of virtual ram right? do i need it and how do i make it?
Native app2sd doesn't move all the app to the SD (and not all the apps can be moved). Using EXT partition all the apps can be moved totally, so the use of internal memory is minimal.
SWAP, yes, it's virtual ram. I don't recommend you its use, because the SD's life is dramatically reduced.
If you wish to test it, you need to make another partition (formatted as SWAP), either from the Recovery or using a pc program.

I have a small problem :/
i partitioned the sd with CWM to ext4(no swap), everything works fine except the write speed of the sd in mass storage mode is so so slow. its really annoying why is that?
btw my sd is 16GB class 6

You have no idea how slow it is. about 900kb/s took me 3+ hours to copy about 10gb of my old data to the sd after partitioning

try to use link2sd with godell and emanon roms....link2sd works perfectly on those roms...u won't experience lot of decrease in internal memory..fyki although u use link2sd to move apps, a little internal memory will be reduced...

It actually make ur internal memory in a way coz now ur app and data will be install on the ext partition so ur internal memory wont be used.

What exactly did u mean when us say not decrease
IMO because all app have been move to ext, ur internal will not decrease.

Okay got ya
There is no problem with ur phone or your sd card so dont worry
All your file when you link to sd it will be install on the DE-EXT not ur internal memory so it will not change.:victory:

move every single app to ext
also you can see every app in /data/app because of their symbolic links in actual they are in ext part
I moved every single apps, dalvik-cache and lib files and i only have 30mb free space on my internal

My phone is aging. Nowdays it keeps losing the sd card and since I'm using INT2EXT, the moment this happens, I have to wipe data. Even after getting the SD card back, it just doesn't boot after this happens.
The question is: Is there a reliable sd ext script that is compatible with every ROM and survives SD card loss? S2E is not compatible with many ROMs, Link2SD moves the apps, but when installing a new one, it still says out of space.
And I'm using EXT4 on a UH1 16 gig card.
And I've been using this script for over a year without a problem. The reason I'm sure that it's caused by the loss of the card is that when the phone is booted and I remove the card, it goes into bootloop just like when this random loss happens. And I'm using Badass 1.9, so no logcat.
You can use cron mod.

Cronmod INT2EXT. That's what I'm using now.
Best choice is Link2sd plus because it links internal data too so you solve the space error problembut unfortunately you have to pay for it.

If there is no other way... Or maybe I will just keep a backup and try to hold up until I get a new phone. It should happen around x-mas which is not exactly now. I think I will end up with link2sd plus. Thanks for suggesting.
Here is another script for galaxy mini and I don't think that it's INT2EXT and did you partition your SD card with CWM partitioning?

The best SD card partiton is Mini tool partition wizard.
s2e is not friendly user to use.
