if it contains all the files like kernel, modem etc you can flash it on any rom
but it is good to first flash stock firmware then custom rom
also the dev of the rom must also told the procedure in the guide

It is a stock rom actually..If you read the bottom part of that post, it's the official stock firmware for those Polish telecoms. You can flash through Odin only.. If you want to know the new features, go ahead and install it. I have tried as well. Some few changes here and there, specially the lockscreen.

it's the polish UNLOCKED version...i tried it...quite good...and the lockscreen is awesome....just flash thru odin (one package)....in case it bootloops after odin says pass, just wipe date and cache thru stock recovery
Can anyone tell me if that ROM got Portuguese language, please?
I would like to test it...
can it be done?

Hello, I hope you guys will be able to guide me step by step in upgrading my phone's software!
I haven't updated my phone's ROM/firmware/kernel for over a year, and it started lagging + I'd like to have the new features of current custom ROM's, like the MIUI v4 for I9000 based on ICS. Now, I'm no noob when it comes to flashing/rooting/installing custom ROM's, firmware and/or kernels, but I haven't done it in over a year so I'm rusty.
The current software my i9000 is running is:
Firmware version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: I9000XXJPY
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #Voodo_stable_5.4.1
Build number: Darky's v9.3.XWJS5
Could someone please explain the shortest/simplest way of upgrading it so I can enjoy the new ROMs? Thank you!

1-just make full wipe (3 wipe)
2-root your device with CF root or by semaphore kernel 2.5 not 2.7.4
3-download cm9 to your sd card
4-flash it through cwm
5-then flash your favour ics rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
I am tempted to say RTFM.. There are plenty of tutorials, with all steps described. Just read a little, you'll be learning by yourself
I Saw in at&t general theard that new at&t 4.0.4 kernel version is 3.0.8 but my DDLPA kernel is 3.0.15. Is there any difference? I mean which one better? Or all the same?

Why would you be using an AT&T kernel? This is the international galaxy note section.
No I just want to know what is the difference? I mean if a phone kernel version is 3.0.15 and another 3.0.8. What is the different between the kenals? For example 3.0.15 is newer.?

This corresponds to linux kernel version. The 3.0.15 is newer than 3.0.8.
You can check out www.kernel.org and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_kernel.
Thanks. I understand now. :good:

I've got a Galaxy Ace running whatever Samsung put on it when they sold it, updated when possible. I'd like to install CM 10.1.
Just got finished reading both of these guides.
First, the sticky on rooting / flashing the galaxy ace here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Then, the guide for installing CM 10.1 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212438
Everything makes sense and I'm ready to get started, but then I saw this sentence in the rooting / flashing guide:
If you want to upgrade to newer version then Gingerbread I suggest you to make full procedure, not only flash recovery.

Does that mean that this is not the guide to follow first? If not, can you point me to a better tutorial?
Thanks for your time.

Root and install CWM 5.0.2.6. Fixed that's all that you need (do a backup just in case) and then flash CM rom
I flashed CM when I was in android 2.3.5. and no prob in fact I'm still using 2.3.5. XDDDD AFAIK you don't need any Samy rom to flash CM but several devs advice you to update your android version
I think T = as Gt-s5830 and yes it's the same according Callmeventus thread
