As the title stated, when I press the power button on my Note (International version) to wake it up from sleep mode, it takes about 1-1.5 seconds before the screen turn On.
Similarly, when I press the power button when the screen is on, it takes about 0.5 second for the Note to go to sleep.
Compared this to my HTC Thunderbolt, it's instant on and off from sleep mode. Anyone have the same experiences?
My Note is rooted and have CWR.
What firmware are you on?
I am on stock firmware, hasn't flash anything custom firmware or kernel.
My Note is running on the following:
Android version: 2.3.6
Baseband : N7000UBKK1
Kernel version : 2.6.35.7-N7000ZSKK1-CL706440
Build number : GINGERBREAD.UBKK2
I just got my Note 2 days ago, hasn't been installing any heavy "system" apps other than the normal:
- ZDBox
- Zoner AntiVirus
- LBE Privacy
- Titanium Backup
However, I have far more apps than my HTC Thunderbolt and no slow wake-up like the Note.
OK.
First of all, the wake-up delay is because of the Note goes into deep sleep when it has been in standby for a while, so it takes a second before it wakes up. This is mostly ironed out in custom ROM's (check the dev section).
What you can also try that might help is to install another lockscreen app. When i was still on stock ROM i used WidgetLocker, and it felt a little quicker. If you don't want to pay for WidgetLocker, take a look at MiLocker or Go Locker in the market. They are free.
Thanks for the information. So it seems to be a well-known problem, since the Note goes into "deep" sleep as compared to other device like my HTC Thunderbolt.
I will try to "locker" app you mentioned and will post back.
Oh yes, it's a well knows problem around here But well.. that's just the way it is. Try not to get annoyed by it. You'll get used to it after a while.
I have the the same problem but have learned to live with it.

Thanks for the replies, all. At least I know its not my Note having hardware issues.
Hopefully ICS fix this problem.
I have same problem on 2.3.6, but on 4.0.3 it's ok!
Oh my God! The horror! How will you survive?! A WHOLE ONE SECOND?!

its definitely not the headphones or the hardware as we all have the same issue.. it must be software related this really sucks samsung better release a fix fast...
Under GB this problem definitly not exists! Now with ICS its a kind of noisegate when you listening in low volume, hope it will be fixed.

Hello!
I want to buy a used Galaxy Tab P7300and I wanted to know if there are some specific problems for this device: some touchscreen issues, some display rendition issues, anything. Something similar like "black clipping" specific for galaxy note and galaxy nexus...anything
I'm waiting for your answers..
I do think it is worth highlighting the lag/smoothness which sometimes occurs when swiping between screens in TouchWiz. Other launchers help and hoping this will be addressed with ics update. This was my only concern with it out of the box. Search lag or similar in these forums and will see a few hits.
Btw, I still love mine and reckon this is the best form factor (few products in its league).
With the ics update the 7310 it is quite perfect. Super smooth and fast. Zero lang switching between homes.
I believe that the ics for the 7300 will work just like that.
The only thing that you should consider would be the nexus 7 vs the 7300.
Cheers.

Thank you for your answers. I appreciate.
I don't take the Nexus 7 in consideration because of the size (I have already a Galaxy Tab P3100), because it doesn't have a camera, a LED flash and the 3g facility.
Thanx again!

The con of the nexus 7 is indeed the size... although I just find it small when it comes to video... to the rest is quite great.
The pro is the update... it already runs JB... We are just getting ICS... a OS that came out almost a year a go...
Your choice
I just found out samsung all share and I'm overwhelmed! #win
Hi there, got my Note a few days ago and I'm really loving it. The battery is godly coming from an LG Optimus 7.
One thing I wanted to ask, I was playing with my sisters S3 yesterday, and noticed that her Power Saving options in the notification bar had a lot more options like the ability to disable mobile network access. Long pressing the Power Saving Mode button also presented a list of options such as downclocking the CPU. She's running everything stock and unrooted. I was just curious as to whether there is a way I can enable this on the Note?
Thanks!
flash a jellybean official leak then you will have the almost same feature on your note as she have on his s3 and yeah one more thing

Are you on stock firmware, samsung based rom or custom rom (aosp based)?

This has been reported by me and others, so you're not alone. The consensus seems to be that the new Gear Manager caused it,
I am on completly stock rom never rooted phone. This never happened to me prior to owning the gear 2 neo.

I had the same problem for a while, then I updated my watch firmware. Now anytime my gear 2 is connected to my note 3, if I get a call it automatically answers after about 2 rings.
