Hey forgive me if this has been asked before. But searching the forums via the app returns results in the Development section. And I don't want to saturate those forums with this.
Now I'm facing a little problem here. I restored the above mentioned rom from backup and now I can't seem to get Deep Sleep working. I've tried changing CPU governors and rebooted more times than I can count. No luck. Am I missing something here? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

Okay First thing is that I think restoring the ROM from backup caused the problem.
Do one thing,Use Titanium Backup to backup your Apps and their data and use SMS backup and restore app for backing up the SMS and backup your contacts by going to to contact settings and selecting Export to SD card.
Now after you have done all the backup, reflash the Apocalypse ROM again and restore the backup from titanium backup and restore SMS backup from SMS backup and restore app.
and restore Contacts by going to contacts settings and select Import from SD card.
And after full battery charged, reboot the phone and then the deep sleep will work.
Set the CPU configurations as:-
Governor:-SmartAssV2.
Max:-800Mhz
Min:-245Mhz.
Thanks alot man. Ill try this and report back.

Good evening guys,
I tried to backup my diary entries using Titanium Backup, but when I tried to restore them on the new Firmware they didn't appear. Same for my SMS Messages...
Could you tell what exactly I have to backup?
Thank you for your help!
Backup Methods Before Flashing?
I've been using MyBackupPro, but it does not save any of my settings. I have to set up a lot of stuff like email accounts and so on every time I flash.
Is there a better way?
Have you tried titanium backup? I find it works best.

Does Titanium Backup save preferences, including passwords and email settings?

Hey,
I believe it does, it saves all of my preferences with games like Alsphalt so it should do the same with your e-mail.
Try it, it's free.

I hope someone is, that would be best option, titanium is brilliant though and has saved me a few times, I have it scheduled to backup everynight.
I also use Mybackup pro for sms and call logs etc.
neither can bring your homescreen widgets back as before.
Is there anything that saves your facebook/google links in contacts? That's the thing I find most annoying having to go back through them one by one...
Titanium backup in its current form is not functioning correctly on my phone aswell as many other galaxys users
yes - unfortunately Titanium Backup currently won't backup the databases :-(
Best backup app for galaxy?
Is there anything out there which will backup our apps, contacts etc before I flash a new rom to my phone? Is it possible in kies? I'm loath to have to link my face book and google mail contacts again
Backup apps/settings to PC? possible?
Hi all, i have seen many threads regarding backup apps such as wave/titanium pro etc but im wondering if its possible to backup to a PC?
as much as its a naughty word, i liked apples way of backing up using itunes. you simply plugged in your phone and voila its backing up into a friendly restorable format.
i just want a simple backup of my device encase i flash to others roms.
is this possible?
i don't know of such application.
but what is so bad about backing it up to the External SD card?
you want your backup to be with you all the time, so in case of "OMG! happens", you can easily Hard Reset, then restore from backup from the SD card.
once on the SD card, you can easily copy it over to your PC, the next time you hookup your USB cable.
if you want it done automatically, you can always create a script on your PC to grab X files from X folder every time the USB connects to X device
I love the backup software from PalmOS, they works automatically just as you wanted.
I never found a good one that actually works on WinMobile
in Android it's almost perfect, it just missing the part to sync the backups to the desktop automatically.
But that's a minor thing, as you can do the batch command mentioned above.
you can try this one for size, see if you like it.

Nandroid v2.0 - Full NAND backup and restore tool
else you can go for PAID applications such as... Titanium Backup and many other ones
never thought of it like that.
as for backup apps which one is proving decent? i see alot about wave and titanium backup.
Yeah... Titanium Back-up is great. You can even try MyBackup Pro. Both are equally good.
MyBackup Pro restores all the apps perfectly but is not able to link those to the Android Market...
what do you guys use to backup all your data before changing firmware
I already flashed my girlfriend's galaxy S twice
and each time i was installing and configuring the device as she want...
Once again there is a new firmware that correct some interesting part (GPS)
but i REALLY don't want to loose 2 hours of my time to
a: install the apps my gf has
b: configure the device (font, ring tone, volume ...)
so question : what are you using to save the time of installing/configurating...
thanks in advance
I'm also interested to know how you make it.. Thanks

Been using Titanium Backup (donated ver.), so far so good.
Is there away to keep like my address book and such? Or some of my apps and settings, it's such a drag to have to reinstall and re-profile all my apps
Kind Regards

Most would say Titanium, I use MyBackup. For apps+data, sms, mms, bookmarks, system settings... when restored it's almost as it was before flashing.
Contacts should be in your Gmail account, cloud - no need for backup if everything is set up right, they are auto synced again
Thank you mate, will try it out.
Can I flash a ROM without being connecting to a power source? At school atm. but would like to try and flash MIUI
Yes but battery should be full, or almost full. Just in case. You'll need PC to get root and CWM, anyway
Also, backup (plain copy/paste is enough) everything on your internal SD as it could get deleted in the process. Depends what you do, if something goes wrong everything could be lost.
Got CM7 atm. , alreayd rooted and got CWM np, but only on 60% battery
Hi guys,
i've just instal CM7 nightlies on my O2x, the question is how can i restored all of my data that have been back up in cwm such as my contact and calendar event?
cheers
You don't.
You need to use something like Titanium Backup for that.
Thanks rusty!
Oo..so right know i need to start from scratch right?
Right now, yes.
Or you could restore your CWM backup, use a backup app, flash CM7 then restore via an app.
AppExtractor can do this, restoring:
- Contacts
- Wifi Settings
- SMS/MMS
- Apps and their Data
- Bookmarks
From any CWM backup files.
Write to the author for Calendar, he is very reactive.
See in Market
The most simple way to restore Calendar/Contacts is to use 'the cloud' google gmail sync, or dedicated backup features in launchers (don't remember in LG Launcher, but in other launchers/home you can backup contact etc)

For contacts and calendar, I would recommend you to save it by default to your Gmail account, whenever you flash a new rom it will sync automatically.
I am using the following for backups.
1. Call log backup & restore
2. SMS backup & restore
3. Titanium backup

Try and restore your CMV backup with Titanium.
I haven't tried it yet, but it should work

This used to be true Rusty, but not anymore. The latest version of Titanium Backup can now restore both apps and data from CWM-backups. Very handy.
I must admit, that will be a proper useful feature.
Total noob here. Hope this is a legit post.
I have rooted my CDMA Hero using Hero Rooter and have superuser permissions. Have successfully flashed CM7 using ROM Manager. Have MyBackup Root installed also and have done nandroid backup also. I cannot figure out how to restore my email settings (pop and exchange) and applications post flash. Google contacts returned fine when signing on/up to Google.
I have gone back to stock rom but would like to stick with CM7. Sorry if I am missing the obvious. How do i get the email and apps back on the new ROM? A recommendation for a contact manager to replace what Sense People widget would be appreciated also
Have you tried Titanium Backup? It's a really awesome program for restoring data with the app.
Agreed, titanium backup has saved me from many a heachade
So I flashed CyanAOSP ROM to 4.2.2 and it works great. Using titanium back up I tried to restore my messages and restored just the data from dialer storage (telephonyprovider.apk). My previous messages are shown but I when I click on the conversations the app crashes. Even when I delete all the conversations I still can't send/receive messages and the app crashes.
Is there a way to reinstall just the message app or do I need to reflash from scratch?
I also restored the data from mms.apk which is the messenger settings because I originally thought that this held the data although I could still send/receive messages after this so I'm assuming the problem was with restoring telephonyprovider.apk.
Thanks
EDIT: I found the .apk files for telephonyprovider and mms within the CyanAOSP system files if these can be used to replace the one's I altered?
AW: [Q] Broke my message app
I don't know but if you solved the problem i would recomment to use a sms backup and restore app instead of titanium backup.

Yeah I ended up wiping everything and reflashing. Currently trying to backup my messages using sms back up which (I think) is working.
Thanks
