Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install MeDroid ICS v6.1 with IA2SD, but I seem to be missing something.
Here's what I did:
- partitioned SD with GParted: first partition fat32, second one ext4 (2GB)
- full wipe
- installed the Rom (got random offset every time)
- on first boot I experienced an reboot before the Me Droid animation
- went through assistant, then rebooted phone
- looked in settings -> storage: 200 MB
- partitioned SD with recovery (CWM)
- according to gparted I now have first partition fat32, second one ext4 (2GB)
- full wipe and reinstall of the Rom
- assistant again, then rebooted the phone
- storage still shows only 200 MB internal memory
Sorry for my bad english, i hope i't understandable.
I would really appreciate any help on this
greets
gecko
Did you install the blackrose hboot (bootloader)?
Yes, of course, forgot to mention that. Blackrose is installed and the Rom itself is working fine.
Did you wipe, wipe, wipe before partitioning and install?
Last things I did before posting here were: "Wipe, wipe, wipe, repartition, reinstall" *me brave*
As long as everything seems to be working fine, I really do not know. The only difference between what I did and what you did is I partitioned my card with 4ext recovery. I do not think that should matter though, but as long as settings just see the 200 then it is obviously not working.
Here is a post from the medroid thread from someone who has a similar problem and how he fixed it. Hope it helps!
Thx. Unfortunately what's supposed there is exactly what I tried at first: deleting all partitions and making new ones from scratch.
Does it matter if the EXT partition is primary or logical?
good question on primary/logical--would assume primary
I partition inside phone and are not given a choice
Swap should be 0
If you want to experiment, backup card and repartition inside phone/ext4
Try sdformatter to format--full erase and size adjustment on
Then try a 1gb ext--have heard of some folks having issues with too large an ext, although that rarely happens till you get to like 3 or 4gb
or, try amon_ra recovery
Thx for your answer. Meanwhile i tried my old (8GB non SDHC) SD card with a 512MB ext4. Primary partition seems to be right since this is working. Now I have to determine if it's the new (16GB SDHC) card or the partition size. I'll give you feedback on this.
Update: with the old 8GB card every partition size seems to work. With the new one I can't find any working configuration. I can live with that and my little sister will be happy about the 16GB card. Thanks to you guys for your help
good luck gecko
you might the sdformatter method I mentioned on it, if you get time
Procedure for increasing internal memory did not worked for me, why?
I followed this procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398797

I found the answer on myself...thnk God :fingers-crossed: I actually formatted the 'Partition 2' to 'Logical' whereas both partition 1 & 2 must be 'Primary'. So, I changed the Logical to Primary and it worked !!!
Thanks BTW

Sorry Guys out there , i know this is a ****ing annoying question because people out there are all over to solve this problem and this problem was "SOLVED"
But , i've face a problem , i think i don't need to mention much ?
Galaxy Ace :internal memory around 170mb .
Youtube -9mb
Talkbox - 10mb
Facebook - 19mb (+Data 20-40 mb ) = 50-60 mb ?
Thats enough , thats what i've got for my Ace , i have a Custom ROM like CM7.1
How can i get more internal rom since the data for Facebook are huge for ACE? I saw somebody get around 1gb internal storage for galaxy ace ? But i've tried everything , partition sd ...it almost pwned my sd card ?
Could anyone suggest me a working method even you suggest partition , nevermind , just give me the right method to partition and how to partition sd card please.
Well, there are many ways you can do so.. I would personally prefer using int2ext+. Here you go...
Some Basic Requirements :
1) A rom with init.d support (so that the scripts run on it)
2) Ext partition on your memory card (i recommend ext4)
3) Mini partition tool (for partitioning your memory card)
4) Memory card reader.
Steps:
1) Mount your memory card to your computer using a memory card reader!
2) Backup all you data, the process will wipe your memory card.
3) Open mini partition tool and delete the partition
4)Now you should see all the space as unlocated, create a primary partition which should be fat(if your memory card is less than 4gb) or fat32 (if 4gb or more)
5) Next, use the leftover unlocated space to make the secondary partition ie. Ext4.
6) All set, hit apply.
7) After it all done, copy back all your data to the card.
Using int2ext+ :
1) It is provided as a flashable zip for flashing directly from the recovery.
2) After the fresh install of a rom ( not necessasary but highly recommended) flash it!
And voila, if you followed all the steps correctly, the internal memory should be showing up the same size as your ext partition!
*Note* I AM NOT PROVIDING ANY LINK, SEARCH FOR THEM, IT'S TOO EASY!
PS- There are already many threads with similar questions, use search before posting next time!
I got 2 gig internal using the psn mem mod kernal

Use a different Facebook client like Fast for Facebook, its only 4MB and is way faster. Use an App2SD script if you like.
Hy everybody,
My question is at the bottom
Internal memory is not enough on galaxy ACE ? sd card can be partitioned and used with "llink2sd" as internal memory.
I did :
- Using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition I partitioned SD card to two primary fat32 partitions.
- I rebooted my phone with sd card in it
- EXPECTED it to be mounted correctly, to run Link2SD to format second partition to ext3 or keep it fat32 or wathever.
BUT :
Android says that sd card is damaged
Reasons :
- Android expects one partition formatted in FAT32 with no MBR (?) in the begining of the memory :silly:
Solution :
- Partition memory with a tool that can tell Android how to read MBR or how to deal with multi partition sd card. tools like Rom manager.
My question is, is there another way to tell Android how to deal with my sd card ? without changing the rom ? using for example terminal emulator ? or can you please explain to me how I can use Rom manager to partition ? cause I didn't succeed with it.
and pleeease I'm just fed up with answers like :
"but why do you need to partition ?"
"why don't u just use app2sd ?"
"why don't you get a girlfriend instead of spending all your time on a phone that you hate ?"
NB : I updated my phone manually to 2.3.6 then rooted it. I don't want to use custom roms EXCEPT if you give me a hint about the best roms arround
Thank you in advance
I used cwm to partition my sd card and it works fine

1. you can re-partition your sd card to one partition (FAT, I think) by partitioning software
2. boot Clockworkmod recovery (Home + Power)
3. Advanced > partitioning sd card
4. Choose how much you want
5.done
6.Finally I suggest you install PSN Memory Mod

No you only need to install PSN.
It is a DATA2EXT SCRIPT. I am happy with it.
I prefer SD-EXT > 1GB, its enough, and you need a Class 6 sdcard

bluethooth is a common issue.
You can try other roms
Take a look at my thread on how to move apps to sd without any script and partition

Welcome to the forum.
Our Ace (and other phones) doesn't recognize a SD card partitioned with MiniTool Partition Wizard.
Instead download CWM 5 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291327
Then turn the phone off. Reboot into recovery mode by holding the power and the home button till the Samsung logo appears for the second time. Choose apply update from SD card and install CWM.
Reboot into recovery again. This time there should be the CWM recovery.
Select Advanced > Partition sdcard
But backup the data on your SD card using your computer before doing that and restore them afterwards.
Then reboot the phone and Link2SD and the OS will recognize the card. However, this method will create an ext partition which is better for that use.
For ROMs:
This is the best I have found so far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173576
If you want Cm, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212438 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2199575
If you want a standard Android, flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181854
Please be so kind and click thanks if I helped you.

NEVER use ROM Manager on this phone! It will hard-brick it which will be the very end of the phone as the hardware will be destroyed!!!
Will the CWM process work with Battery Extender Kernel ???

Works with any kernel, any Rom. But backup everything on your memory card before partitioning. Partitioning erases everything on it. And by the way, if the commands I gave on my thread haven't worked for you, check for my previous post on the thread. These commands must work on gingerbread and the ones in op should work for cm10.1

Actually, you can use Minitool Partition Wizard to be use with Link2SD.
First make sure your phone is rooted.
Second, by using minitool make 2 partition on sd card.
First Partition make sure It PRIMARY and file system is FAT32
Second Partition also make sure it PRIMARY and file system is EXT3 or EXT4
(I would like to recommend EXT3 because many roms support this file system)
Install the Link2SD, open the app, select the file system and reboot.
You will get your Link2SD worked.
ps : How about using Final S'Periance rom with Memory Mod kernel. Just do the SD Card Partition and flash the rom. All your problem with internal memory will gone.

DON'T DO THIS!
Link2SD will work but your first partition won't be recognized, at least in Jelly Bean.
