What wave is your Nexus 7? (If you pre-ordered)

I just pre-ordered my Nexus 7 today from gamestop for 249.99. Im in Wave 2, for those of you who also pre ordered what wave are you. Also if you pre-ordered from gamestop as I did the confirmed release date is August 7th

How do we tell?

Ordered mine on the 28th so should be the first wave.

Second the above, how can we tell?
Also does anyone know what countries and also what retailers are "releasing in waves"? I really hope PC World (UK) release them all at once because I ordered rather late.

well I went to the store to pre-order it. it should be on the receipt

Yeah I pre-ordered it pretty early (6/29) from GS too and my receipt says nothing about the wave I'm in

I don't buy the whole 'wave' thing for my gamestop. I live in a town of hicks and i'm pretty sure I'm one of about five people who pre ordered. They gave me the August arrival date though, which would suck major ass.

I did order from the Google PLay store, and it ended up being around $280 for the 16GB. I cancelled it and ordered it from J&R and am getting it for $234 shipped on top of a 5% Discover Card cashback, which will make it $222.30.
So will I get my Nexus7 a few days late? Maybe. But I got a 16GB one for $222.30.

Guy at Gamestop told me 7/31 or a few days before 7/31, but I'm not really sure they know the real date. All speculation I believe.

Without an official date from Google themselves, take what the gamestop reps tell you with a grain of salt. They don't know any more than anyone else.

And Google phone rep told me if you pre ordered before July 1st on the play store you are in the first wave and the second wave was August 7th. It's kinda funny they're like with a week to week and a half from shipping them and they still can't put a date on it rofl.

I'm pretty sure the wave isn't by store it's the wave of release from the manufacturer.
Anyone who pre-ordered from the play store is in the "first wave" if you are ordering from a retailer you are in the "second wave"

I was told from Google rep they're preparing them in waves. Once that's done they're going to ship them all at once.

Gamestop Nexus 7 confirmed in stock

Just confirmed with a personal friend of mine that is a manager of a gamestop. They currently have their stock of Nexus 7s in stock and ready to be sold but are waiting on Asus to give a street date for them. :good:

Already confirmed and there is a topic for this.

Good luck with that. Asus and Google won't want to upset those that ordered at the announcement online, when they could have walked to the end of the road and picked one up instore quicker.
Expect store units to be delayed until after the initial shipments of online ordered have been dispatched to prevent a PR nightmare.

Well just called to confirm my preorder at gamestop. They asked when I preordered and since I was the first one to preorder they said mine is available for pickup tomorrow. Apparently not all of the preorders will be filled tomorrow and it depends on where in line you are. There has been many many cases of devices being available earlier at a local store than people received them direct from the manufacturer. This looks to be the same :highfive:

I suggest you get there at opening, and don't give them time to read their corporate EMails.

That's my plan. I asked if they were doing a midnight release and I was told this isn't big enough for that. I would be there waiting inline.

I pre-ordered on June 26th (thru the Play Store) just after the Nexus 7 was announced at Google I/O. It grieves me to know that I would have been better off waiting two days and ordered thru GameStop after it was announced that they would be selling the Nexus 7 Tablet, because waiting two more days to place the order would have gotten the tablet in my hands faster. (This is going to make for some really bad PR for Google...)
Edit: Had the wrong date of July 4th... (wrote from memory and remember a big event on July 4 - LHC announcement of finding the Higgs partical... Somehow crossed that with the Google I/O event the previous week)

i pre ordered yesterday at the store, the guy told me august 1st but probably earlier. went back today to finish paying it off and the same guy told me that they had to wait for asus and google to set a release date. he also said that i will more than likely have it in my hands way before august 1st but couldnt give me an exact date. heres to hoping i get that call tomorrow or the next day. congrats to those of you that are getting it tomorrow, assholes! im jealous

NOBODY is getting it until google and asus announce the official date.. unless you went to Google I/O... they cant and will not give it up before its official.. maybe that is a big hint that tomorrow might be the day, who knows. all i know is that even if it is tomorrow, my local gamestop hasnt recieved their shipment yet, so i wont even recieve mine unless it comes tonight (IF it comes out tomorrow)

So half the GameStops are saying come and pick up and half are saying we were told we have to hold them so I guess you just have to be lucky

I received a call from my gamestop saying to come pick it up in the morning. I have no reason to not believe them unless I get a call back from them saying sorry not tomorrow

Just out of curiosity - Who out of us pre-ordered from Google Play and ended up purchasing elsewhere?

I pre ordered on the 27th but ran out a couple hours ago and grabbed the last one that Abt Electronics had in stock. Gonna either return this one or sell it to my friend when my other one gets here. This thing is pretty badass.

Yep. I called in before I got there and they had 12 left. By the time I got there they were down to 7. They sold out of those 7 from online orders during the 3 minutes I was playing with the floor model. I made a small stink with the manager and made him sell me one of the 7.

I have two arriving from Google..whenever..(preordered on 6/27) so unless I find out some of my friends want them, they're being refused.

I ended up buying mine from Samsung club and ill give the one from the play store when or if it ever comes.

I expected myself to have more patience lol. As soon as I saw that everyone was going to Sam's club I couldn't resist anymore.
Anyway I hope Google learns something from this. They pissed off a lot of loyal customers by just not giving out an official release date.. They should know we can't handle that ****

When my pre-order device comes, I should just take it back to the ups/fedex and say I'm refusing delivery? Do I need to get a Return authorization # from google?

I called Google today about this. I was told the usual story about how it was too late to cancel, but was advised to simply refuse delivery. I'm under the impression that as long as you make sure the UPS driver is not allowed to leave the package at your location, you will be refunded in full. If you cannot properly refuse delivery, bringing it to a UPS facility within 5 business days (with the box unaltered) should also net a full refund.
The bottom line being: don't open the package. don't wait too long to return it if you couldn't refuse delivery.

I bought one from my local sam's club.. I had pre-ordered one from google on July 3rd.. but nothing seems to be moving.
If/when it comes, I'll offer it to my dad if he likes it. If not, I'll either sell it or send it back to google.

I preordered and ended up ordering one from GameStop on the 11th when that whole July 12 date starting floating around.
Just got my shipping confirmation from Google play. Going to try to contact ups to return to sender before having to refuse delivery.

I keep seeing people saying that they're getting them, but I guess because I'm in the armpit of the US. I haven't run across one in any of my local stores.
Nowinstock was showing that Wal-Mart recently had them instock, but the website wouldn't let me purchase... I'm having some bad luck!

Gamestops around here.

MacMall.com, Staples, Office Max, Sears.com, Walmart.com, Sams Club, Game Stop. Sears had a 16gb for $239 yesterday I think but it wouldn't come until August.

Same here. Closest thing is Staples 2 hours from me. Was tempted but my pre order is finally due tomorrow. Hoping my patience pays off with a good unit.

Staples - you can check inventory online at nearby stores everyday - very good real-time updates of stock.

Me too. Staples. Followed the stock online and it is very accurate. When you see "not sold in this store", Just means they are out of stock. Keep checking and the same stores will change to "in stock." My store changed late saturday nite and showed in stock Sunday, I bought on Monday, they still had one for a guy on the phone while I was there, and Monday nite it changed to "not sold in this store."

Staples. Like the person above said, you can check in-store stock online. My local store had TWO 16GB ones in stock on Sunday when I checked, so I left immediately and got one

Staples is great. They get the nex7 in everyday on ups shipments. Seems like the average is 1-4 per store. Call around 10-11 and see if they have one.

I found mine at a micro center in my city(Kansas City). Checked online and they said they had 9 left. Called and they said they had 7 left. Then again the area that it was in was wealthier area. Pretty sure everyone in that area had iPads. They could care less about a $200 tablet

Got mine at the MacMall in Torrance, CA. Seems the store there and Huntington Beach have a substantial supply (Huntington had 60 last I checked). In store only, 16gb.
I initially tried the Staples route but there was only one store in Southern California that sold it (Pasadena). Must've annoyed the hell out of them calling everyday. They seem pretty clueless as to when they were expecting shipments.

I got ,one at staples but just got shipping notification from the play store after I tried to cancel. If anyone can't find one I'll sell the extra 16 gig nex7 at cost just to avoid having to refuse shipment and whatnot.

Galaxy s4 was available at my local sprint store this morning

I reserved the Galaxy s4 at my local Sprint store on Monday. Walked in today and they had 8 available. So needless to say, you might want to check your local Sprint store to see if they had any shipments because mine did. By the way I returned the HTC One for this phone and I couldn't be happier.

Sprint won't be my carrier but if they have them in store I would stop by just to check out the phone in person, assuming they have one for display.

Our 2 local sprint stores and BB all got the Sprint S4's in today. I almost bought one, but they would not match the online price of $149 that I could get on sprint.com by adding a new line. So I came home and ordered one up instead. $100 is a $100. But it was nice to play with one in the store a bit before making the final decision.

Wait, what? I thought Sprint delayed all of the S4s. When I called BB about my pre-order yesterday to see if it was affected, all I got was that it wasn't in yet and they wouldn't get any sort of an ETA because of them using drop shipment to (supposedly) get it there faster. I may have to drop in today and see what's up with that. >.>
Edit: Just did so. According to the rep I spoke with, Samsung only shipped the ATT phones. All other carriers' S4s have yet to show up. Anyone else running into something similar?

We went into the Sprint store shortly after they opened on Saturday just to see if they might have received any. I'd heard the delayed rumors too, so was not shocked when they said no. Mgr said he'd got an email the night before saying they might try to scrape a few together and get them there, so check back later. Basically the same story at the BB store 2 blocks away. Called later in the day and the Sprint store had them in. So I went in and played with it for a while. When they could not price match the web price, we went over to BB. They had also received the phones but would not match the price either.
All were Sprint phones, both colors, 16gb. They are getting delivered for retail sales, at least in some areas. Guaranteed. You can call the Sprint or BB stores in Rogers and Bentonville Arkansas to confirm it, if you'd like. They may all be sold out by now as there were folks lined up to look at them, but they had them for a while yesterday, at the least. I had a black one in my hands and ready to buy until the ad match snafu came up.

Sprint stores in NJ had them...but the store by me only had 6, 3 white / 3 black...I walked in after 3hrs of them being opened and they still had 4.

Haha your first paragraph was just be way my several went at one of my local corporate store I reserved a handset at. But when I called a friend at another corporate location just a few towns south of me, she said she had a huge supply but we're running low rapidly. And even at 10:15am the store was PACKED! So in turn, I had a feeling that some stores may have some supply. Which was exactly what happened. Funny, cause the 2 BB stores in Mt area have the Samsung booths. Neither were displaying anything. Which I thought was unusual, cause even though there is a delay, I would have thought that they would at least wanna show Em off

I got mine! 4.2.2 is alot different. Menu's have more to it. Overall I am liking the GS4. Bigger screen, smoother and faster than my GS3. I cant wait until a solid root is out there and for Ktoons OC kernel to come out! I can see this thing rocking 2.5 GHZ with it's quad core! My Quadrant score is already 12,772 stock, so I'm thinking 18,000 is possible!

Spoke to a sprint employee on the 24th(after they stopped taking pre-orders) and was told they'd only get enough S4s to satisfy pre orders and then would have to wait for "a week or so" for a shipment of S4s for the general public. So I preordered from amazon and they said they'd ship the today and deliver May 1st. But yesterday I called local sprint stores and 3rd one I called said they had one left in white. Amazon preorder cancelled shortly their after . Any way what I took away from this fro any one still looking for S4s is that some sprint stores have general public stock but generally the bigger stores closer to downtown (I'm in Houston). The stores that only have pre order stock just don't know what the hell they are talking about .

I'm in Houston too and got mine from the Westpark store. They had plenty of them. Like 50 or so! Don't know about today though.....

I must have gotten lucky, because I ordered mine online from Sprint Saturday the 28th in the afternoon (pst), and received a shipping notification Sunday at 10AM and received my shipment Monday morning at 9:45 AM. Needless to say I was happily shocked

I was able to use Upgrade Now for $100 fee. They bought my cracked E4GT for $64. They said they had 13 white and 8 black.

My local sprint store in memphis also has/had a bunch in stock opening day. I leisurely walked in not expecting them to have it, but they had about 10 left at closing in Saturday
