then i went to recovery mode again to install Google Aps ... but it doesn't find my memory ... when i click on 'choose the file' it says 'error mount /emmc'
and in the phone i can't find my memory .. please help me
Just copy gapps to internal sd and flash from there, or go into recovery/ mounts and storage and see if you can mount it there

I flashed back to GB 2.3.3 and rooted it and then went to recovery mode to install AOKP again ... and it rebooted and opened the phone before i be able to install gapps!!!!
As the instructions say .. flash Milestone and then flash gapps and then reboot?!!!
why did it reboot before i flash gapps?!!!!!!!!!!
And when i go to recovery mode to flash gapps .. it gives me the same error
'error mount /emmc'

I have searched for a few hours and can't find anyone with a similar issue.
I have my 2.2 captivate rooted and unlocked with CWM and TB installed. Got the Cyanogen 7 zip install on my sd card.
Loaded CWM Recovery and backed up my rom.
Restarted and went to CWM to Install Rom from SDCard
It doesn't point to the SD card, however. It starts in the Internal storage, so i choose external_sd/ then the update file
it boots into recovery, formats the phone, but gives me the "No such File or Directory" message with the path set to SDCARD External SD Update.zip(Cyanogen install)
So it thinks my internal storage is my SD card?
So its pointing to the wrong directory, but i cant find an option anywhere to make it go through the right directory.... help?
sorry, mods please delete.
It is installable througn CWM,

Harder way:
Make sure you're running a Eclair/Froyo Firmware (2.1 or 2.2) and Eclair/Froyo Bootloaders!
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon (through ROMManager is easiest)

Try taking out your external sd before you flash, and if you have anymore problems post in the CM7 Q&A thread
Greetings,
Unable to find the flashable update zip file from stock recovery 3e which exists on my sdcard.
I need to install CWM recovery and flash cocore kernel and root. I did this earlier countless times.
I am on stock XXLQL 4.1.2 Italy FW. Just FYI, a couple of days back I had flashed HarshJelly 4.
Below are the options in stock recovery <3e> -
1. reboot system now
2. apply update from ADB
3. apply update from external storage
4. wipe data/factory reset
5. wipe cache partition
6. apply update from cache
When I select 3rd option, I cannot see the update.zip or any other file which is in my sdcard (internal storage). I just see below –
Choose a package to install:
/sdcard
../
Added information is, when I go to root of the phone with Solid explorer, I can see below relevant directories –
sdcard <this is a symlink for /storage/sdcard0>
storage <inside this there is sdcard0 dir>
Inside storage there is sdcard0. And when I access the same directory by either ways (clicked symlink OR went is storage/sdcard0), I could see all my flashable files over there.
I already read something about this being related to 4.2 JB version. However, did not find any confirmed resolution or workaround on any forum.
I have already tried -
1) formatting of internal storage (sdcard0) and external storage (memory card) from phone settings -> storage -> Format USB storage AND Format SD card.
2) That didn’t work hence, I tried formatting my ext card (referred some XDA link) from PC with all - FAT32, NTFS and something like ext.... Still no luck.
3) Downloading zip files again to ensure they are not currupted.
Please note that I can copy data to both storages, hence I think my storage doesn’t look like corrupted.
It will be a great help if you can guide me to resolve this issue. :fingers-crossed:
Stock recovery let you search for update.zip in external sdcard (/storage/extSdCard/ on stock jb)

I have already kept the update.zip in both internal and external sdcards (/storage/extSdCard/ and /storage/sdcard0/). Missed to mention that.
However, could you please confirm on this as the symlink /sdcard in the root is for /storage/sdcard0 which is internal sdcard.

Hi, i recentry rooted my samsung s3 mini for installing the new kitkat rom.
So, i followed the steps, saved the new ROM on my external sd card and formated the system.
The problem is this: when i was browsing the zip file with the ROM on the costume recovery menu (I have ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.7), a message appears saying "no files found".
So now I can´t reebot my phone beacause it has no OS and I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Never, ever format the system.
If you're on stock just do that:
1-Reboot in recovery
2-Choose Wipe data/factory reset
3-Flash cm rom
4-Flash gapps
5-Reboot
Done, that's it.
If you want to update cm roms (or any rom):
1-Reboot in recovery
2-Flash cm update
3-Choose Wipe cache & dalvik cache
4-Reboot
Done.
You don't need to mess up with anything more.
P.S. better use twrp 2.7 from novafusion, for better compatibility.

Thanks but it still doesn't work. I want to flash the rom but the rom file its in the external sd card and it says that there are no files found. And when i hook up the phone to my pc the phone is detected, however I can´t acess the sd card.
Maybe if there's a way for me to acess the ext. sd card and change the rom file for the internal memory it would work. Do you know how can i do this?

Euhm, it might be a weird idea, but you take your external SD-card, put it in your card reader, connect the card reader to your pc, and copy the zip to (let's say) the root of the SD-card
CWM should be fine, but I'm used to TWRP. You can find it on the novafusion website. (search novafusion TWRP)
If you can't boot into CWM or TWRP, or files still don't show up on the browsermodule in the recovery rom, you still have the possibility to flash your ROM using odin. Check the installation guide on novafusion, it gives you a link to all the files you need and a detailed description how to install your rom.
Good Morning everyone,

I keep reading TUTO in order to custom my new Mi5, and everywhere it is written :
Download the ROM
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Flash
BUT, Mi5 does not support SDCard. How could I put it into it ?
Thanks,

You can flash custom rom by going to recovery and select install zip from adb sideload.
Now, adb command prompt and type "adb devices" and press enter, it will recognize your device and then type "adb sideload (your_rom_name.zip)" and press enter it will flash zip file in your device......
[emoji117] NOTE:- Before performing any above steps you must have adb drivers installed in your pc..

You don't need to boot your phone to copy the rom zip from your PC. You can do it while you are in recovery via MTP file transfer.

Thank you for your quick reply, but I have an issue.
I cannot find the folder /SDCard0 in my phone system. I have only /SDCard, which go directly to my internal storage.
FYI: I use TWRP 3.0.2

/SDCard or /SDCard0 makes no difference. Your internal storage it's seen by system as an SDCard. Copy there your rom. Zip and flash it. Those tutorials you are talking about are made with assumption that you download the rom zip on your PC. You can download those roms right on your phone using your phone browser. Like this it's much easier and you'll skip Step 2 the step that got you confused.
