Go to the Google Play Store... Galaxy_S Unlock by Helroz
Once unlocked, always unlocked.
And fyi, the Captivate used on T Mobile will only get the Edge network becauce of t mobile frequencies.

Don't use your phone if you are concerned about Ma Bell knowing your usage. It is not going to happen.
but isn't rooting android illegal (okay so it isn't illegal and it was my friend who wanted to know this I told him its not possible but he won't agree I also yolks him it would be illegal anyways)
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
There's nothing illegal about rooting or modifying your phone. Doing either of these does not make you benefit financially in any way. Trying to get a paid service, illegally for free is, well, illegal. I don't think your post has much of a life left on this forum. Just an fyi. good luck to ya though.

if jailbreaking isnt illegal, rooting is far from being illegal also. rooting only voids a phones warranty and voiding warranties isnt illegal
Google encourages rooting.

Unlock your phone then get a Verizon or Sprint plan. AT&T will have no idea how much data you're using.
Wait you mean I can go to verizon and use there data plan and still use att's network
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
No man. He means unlock your phone (search it) and then sign up for verizon or sprint and their unlimited data plans and no longer use at&t
sent from somewhere in the hills of kentucky
Wow. I see you guys don't understand the differences and capabilities between cdma and gsm networks. You will not get a captivate on Verizon or Sprint

Yeah and when you use too much data, they'll just throttle you.
Att to throttle top 5% data consumers October.
But it's still unlimited!
Its BS lol...

Vzw decided to be d-bags... it reads them as apn's but doesn't let you connect... i've been researching for a couple days, i'm thinking maybe make a pudding of a different iteration of the droid3 sbf and enable it, if this is a method that could unlock bootloaders why not bands?
As everyone knows that Droid 3 is a global phone but i still have a question
If i go to another country and im not going to use Verizon anymore. Im gonna change my network using Gsm in my country. do i have to buy unlock code ? Do i have to do anything with that or i can just go back and insert different sim card and it works ?
thanks

There are numerous threads on this already. Please do a little looking around rather then starting yet another thread on a topic that has been discussed to death in this forum

What do we know about unlocking the bootloader? Will it be possible? If it is possible how easy it would it be.. if this has been addressed I missed it

I'd say "not high." The HTC One wasn't supposed to be unlockable with their Dev site on att but it was. Maybe this will slip through the cracks.

As with previous HTC devices, they are unlockable on HTC Dev until a day or two before street date. The AT&T and Verizon models will be locked, and will have a Developer Edition. This was already confirmed by Mr. Punit on Google+.

They were definitely still unlockable a while after street date. Hell they may still be. I haven't checked.

I rooted an ATT Note 3 but I need to put a SIM from T-mobile and now Note 3 is asking for an unlocking PIN... Am I missing something? I thought once you rooted the phone you can use it on any network that take sims card...
or has this change?
please would some one lead me to the right direction for the love of god?
No I think there was a way to do this on an early build... You need to use an unlocking service should cost around 30

Rooting does not network unlock the phone. Whoever or wherever you got that idea from is very, very wrong.

Just use chainfire region unlock away app.
That only works on MI9 firmware.

I did regionlockaway on my MJ5 ATT rooted Note 3 and it did not work, it shows rooted but I need to use it on t-mobile network when I insert sim I get enter PIn to unlock
As I stated I the post you quoted it will only work on MI9 basebands and earlier. MJ5 will years no results.
You will either have to contact AT&T and hope they give you the unlock code, or find a website that offers unlocking for money. There is no way around it.
