Hi everyone
As a bit of a neek when it comes to things like this, I am curious to find out if anyone has attempted to physically replace the LED's under the soft-touch buttons on the I9000? The white is so boring...so maybe it would be possible to remove the current LED's and replace with other colours? Unless the hardware is not accessible due to its positioning under the touchscreen...
If anyone has had a go at this then I'd love to know

I don't even think hardware buttons support any other color except white... or do they?...:what:

From the last picture it seems that softkeys and screen are the same thing.
Anyway try to search google for "galaxy i9000 disassembly" or try it yourself

I think it is, but...
I found this video of some guy taking the SGS apart, but it looks a bit tricky.
Looks like you have to strip it down completely before you can get to the LED's. However, I guess if you can get to them, then find some matching LED's of a different colour, swap them out, then successfully put it all back together, it should theoretically work

Hey wait! I was digging on ebay for spare parts and i found this:
(I can't post links so serach "repalcement keypad galaxy i9000")
Have a look at a few pictures! There are two holes just inside the touch sensors. The LEDS must be somwhere else not inside the screen assembly.

Ok. After some exahustive seraching i found the LEDs. They' re on the back of the keys! Have a look at the picture.

:highfive: Oh cool! Is that your phone? Was it difficult to disassembly? Your is a though question... Try to gently peel the circuit off. GENTLY! I'd really like to disassemble my galaxy too so we could find a way to take the circuit off but unfortunatelly I'm not at home and have no tools with me.

Im sure if he meant 'large buttons' he would have said 'large'... once u install the LG buttons they are automatically set up at the top of ur home screen. Wht u need to do is go into ur settings/personal/today and click the tab at the bottom that says ITEMS, highlight the LG buttons line and click 'move down' until desired position...hope this helped

there is supposed to be a 'spacer.cab' tht it comes with, not sure if its the same for a Kaiser though sorry...

its really not that complex...just pretty much altering the hue of all the green icons. most aren't even .9pngs so you could get most complete rather easily I believe.

ah ok that don't sound too hard - there are icon files I can alter? Where are they located?
I think several people (myself included) are working on hero/rosie themes at the moment.. patience..

I take it you're using the 'old style' Today screen, and not M2D or the Titanium panel...? Unfortunately, that is a problem with the newer WM 6.5 beta builds, it started happening in build 23*** I think. I'm still looking for a solution to that..

You can switch by going to Start > Settings > Personal > Home, then switch to the 'Items' tab and select 'Windows Default'. That will enable the Titanium / CHome Panel.
On the left is the 'old style' home screen (doesn't have very much on it, but you can choose a bunch of different components for it; Tasks, Messaging, etc.), on the right is the newer 'Titanium' or 'CHome Panel':
Note: If you have any questions more detailed than this, please do a search on XDA-Dev and you'll see a lot more information..

Yes but it is very few buttons and only in some particular apps. The text can be read but it is very unclear. You can go in the Gmail app and the show pictures button for example has this issue
Hi ComputerFreak. I have just installed Black Perfection 2.1 on my Elelinux 1.9 ROM and I really like the looks of it. However, all texts are in black... even the ones at the top of the screen (notifications, time, etc.). It is different from the screenshots you show. Please tell me how to change the font colours to white! Maybe a tiny patch will work??

I just tried to change the colours in CM settings. I only managed to change to colour of the time.
I tried to change all of them to #ffffffff (white) but they don't seem to take effect. Do I have to reboot or something?

Hey thanks for the CMTheme.zip file. I rebooted my phone and now everything looks perfect!
But now I have another problem... I installed the special theme HTC_IME mod keyboard and it works great. However, every single time I reboot it is gone and I have to reinstall from the .apk file..
I'm not sure if it's because of the CMTheme.zip file or the Black Perfection Theme itself. Maybe they cause to keyboard to revert to its original?

na, i would have to make, crop and place every key for 14 different keyboards. i have transparent keyboards made up already. all i have to do is crop the image and place.

Mike you are right orange and green is yuck!!! I just like the miami hurricanes and someone who wasnt thinking clearly decided to use those colors.

Not sure if it matters, but I know we are permitted to use these images. One is an adjustment of a photo by a friend of mine and the other is the logo we used for a driving event at the Dragon (US 129 in NC/TN - incredible road!! [I drive an 04 R32 and it is made for that area - tons of twisties ]) and the logo was done from scratch by another good friend of mine...

can you change the color of the word suggestion? The color used for the word suggestion is some weird green on a gray background that makes it unreadable and I have to guess if its the correct word or not. How about a nice BOLD BLACK?

what i need is the motovation. i just dont feel like going through all that. i have to make the keys and place each and every single key on 14 different keyboards and THEN add the key text. thats a ton of work. i may at some point get to it. but its way down on the priority list.
