after doing the Juopunutbear s-off i tried flashing a rom into the phone and everything went well but when it rebooted the recovery starting looping. now i cant even use any recovery and cant boot the phone.
any help would do, thanks
htc-dev unlocked and Juopunutbear s-off. and running cwm
Relock bootloader, flash your carriers RUU, follow steps 1 and 4 from my guide. This will clean up everything from cwm and give you wcx recovery. A LOT of people have been having issues with cwm lately. Don't worry, you won't lose s off either.

Okay, let me know how it works out.
There is an issue when a rom uses improper scripts with CWM currently built for this device. If you get stuck in a recovery loop, the fix is to go into fastboot and type "fastboot erase cache"
90% of the time it fixes the issue. There's an updated CWM being worked on (based off CWM6) with a proper recovery kernel and ext4 mounting. it "should" avoid these issues.

so i downloaded twrp flashed it everything is going good and then i back up everything and i then delete cache and facory reset in trwp which is data wipe and system wipe. ( i assume this is why i got this bootloop)
then i flashed desensed rom and i just have been on the boot up screen for like 10 minutes now. any suggestions?

Try to reflash the recovery , if that don't work relock the bootloader and run the stock ruu and get you back up and running then unlock again and flash recovery then restore the backup . The toolkit makes this process only a few minutes .
Also might wanna try fast boot flashing the kernel cause it probably didn't go through

Yeah I figured I would need to do that. I mean I know how to do everything of that sort. I just wanted to make sure. I don't like twrp haha its weird I'll just stick to wcxrecovery. Also yesterday I tried going to the toolkits website but it seems as if its down

Yeah...wcx is a whole lot more stable than the others out there. No need to relock or anything, just fastboot flash the recovery in boot loader.

I'm trying to install custom ROM on Incredible s following the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337105
I can't boot past the htc screen. only after getting to this stage did I come across the whole S-ON/S-OFF thing. unfortunately I am stuck with S-ON and no ROM to boot into. from everything I've looked up you can only achieve S-OFF through adb mode and considering I have no android to load I can't exactly do that.
I have Clockwork Recovery v5.0.2.0.
...and no I don't have a nandroid backup. I'm doing this on my brother's phone coming from my GNex where we don't have these problems.
also I've tried running RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_Optus_AU_2.12.980.2_R_Radio_20.2803.30.085AU_3805.04.03.12_M_release_185028_signed.exe but that just fails.
another question would be given the current situation would a nandroid backup solve my problems and if so is there anywhere I could get one as I can't find one online atm.
perhaps would there be a way to force the phone into adb mode?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know why but that worked!
I LOVE YOU MAN!
I really don't know what happened here but it's working so thank you so much! so then what is the deal with this whole S-ON/S-OFF thing? don't you need to turn it to off then?

With S-OFF, you can place the rom on your SD card and flash it, no need to extract or run adb. You can flash the whole rom without touching your computer. It is just easier in my opinion.
Hi there,
I've used for a while with AT&T ROM without any problem.
Successfully rooted and CWM installed.
I tried to flash my phone by this ROM using CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2171741
However I failed. My phone didn't work with it.
Now, I cannot go into my CWM anymore. Although I reinstalled it.
I still can access to Bootloader. Select Recovery but it showed some scripts then it couldn't go further.
Anyone can tell me how to fix it?
I am frightened now since my phone is nothing more than garbage now I cannot do anything with my phone
Thank you so much
You're gonna have to relock your bootloader and run the RUU then unlock your bootloader to flash your recovery again, then you'll be able to run your recovery again. Also if you're S-ON, you have to extract the boot.img from the rom you installed and flash it before you install the rom, otherwise the phone won't boot.
Download another recovery to your computer...
Go into hboot... go to fastboot... connect via USB
Fastboot flash recovery (recovery name)
Reboot bootloader... choose recovery

Hello,
I did the way you said and it worked!!
Thank you very much.
Note: I think the ROM I flashed had some kind of weird code that led to the problem.
I used AT&T edition for my Bell Canada phone. RUU said failed during the process, however, that's when I reinstalled my CWM and it works again!
Thank you everyone for helping me with this question!
Get away from CWM...
Switch to TWRP or WCX

Ur welcome and like do what ringfool said CWM doesn't play well with this device. I personally use WCX but switch recovery cuz most of the time roms flash with errors is because of the recovery.

Yes! CWM really works badly on HTC Holiday.
WCX really rocks! It shows everything precisely and large enough to look haha.
Most of ROMs can be flashed using WCX. CWM cannot open some
TWRP for the win...Is that redundant? Flashed it last night, works flawlessly with the cm10 rom
Someone needs too post a really big sign somewhere in these forums that says DO NOT USE CWM I have seen at least 5 guys in the last month getting screwed because of it.

boy, i don't know at this point, you may have borked the radio, i would try to ruu, get back to stock and start all over.keep in mind if you run an RUU you have to relock the bootloader to do so. then you can unlock again and go from there.install recovery etc/

Also, I suggest using the revone s-off method from the revolutionary team. It allows you to flash ROMs more easily without flashing the boot.img separately. The link to the thread on how is in my web signature.

Try TWRP

hello there,
so earlier i was trying to flash my htc one m7 with android 62.0 but it seems it wasn't a success because now my phone is just stuck in a boot loop and i cant get into recovery mode anymore. Now its been awhile since i flashed a rom, i had android hd 31.0 before that so i thought id update it but its seems its gonna be a bit harder that that. my phone is showing s-on with hboot 1.55 and i used clockwork to flash the rom. now could i get some advice as to how i could get this android hd 62.0 to work on my htc? or should i just try to revert to what i used to but the problem is the old rom isn't on my phone anymore and i was never able to find the stock rom for my phone (rogers canada m7). any advice here ?
If you have an old CWM, try upgrading it first. With newer OSs, something in the Android install procedure has changed. You need a recovery that's at least as new as TWRP 2.6.3.3. To get back to recovery, try using the power+volume down button to get to fastboot mode, and use the computer for "fastboot erase recovery" and "fastboot erase cache". Then boot to recovery.

Do you need to wipe data? Did you wipe data within the ARHD installer? (For me, it doesn't ever work unless I do this. You can make a nandroid backup before if you want.)

Yes, do it from the bootloader (after re-locking it). You'll have to find the instructions somewhere...
