No internet connection after official ICS update

Guys,
I just installed the official ICS update using HTC sync. My phone was completely stock. After the update, it cannot connect internet using mobile network even though I have strong 4G signal. Do you guys have any idea what is going on?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like your apn got messed up go to your apn and restore defaults and then reboot see if that helps

I did that several times and even reflashed the update but none worked. Called att, apparently my data plan was for my old phone, Blackberry...
Weird though, before the update the internet was fine.
Yes it is glad you got it fixed

Anyone else having major issues with wi-fi connectivity?

Just purchased the Atrix HD yesterday and when standing only 10 feet away from my router it constantly connects and disconnects. So far this has been the only issue for me. Any hacks yet for better wi-fi strength?

i dont know if its called att wifi app or att hotspot app but i disabled att hotspot app and after that i never had any problem with wifi!! there is a Starbucks real close to my house and they have att hotspot so when ever i drive around it would connect to att hotspot and i would have hard time connecting to my home wifi!! just go to your apps option inside settings find att hotspot and disable it since you cannot uninstall this app!! it might help!!:good:

I had same problem. The wifi turns off 2 seconds after I turn the wifi on. I did factory reset. After the reset, it seems it solve the problem but I had other issues so I did an exchange since it was with in 14 days of the purchase. I don't have that problem with the new HD.
Try doing factory reset....

I'm having the exact same problem. Mine will connect for a period of time then just starts a wifi boot loop, as I would describe it. It tries to connect endlessly and won't unless I'm right next to the router. A factory reset didn't fix it either.

Hmm. Switching wifi frequency from auto to 2.4 only seems to have fixed it.

I never accepted the at&t wifi app agreement, so it was never running, but still had the same issue. It seems better now that its forced to 2.4ghz. I still have range issues. my Atrix 4G would show two bars of signal where the Atrix HD connects and disconnects constantly. Its like i have to be sitting right in front of the router to stay connected.

I wasn't having any issues last night after switching to 2.4 only. But when I woke up it was disconnected and wouldn't connect again til I was right by the router. Hopefully a software update fixes this issue.

I had this problem with the Atrix 2. Resetting my router solved the problem.

Wow, that's cool. Didn't move, switched to 2.4 only and my signal strength doubled and my speed seems noticeably better.
Now if this helps from oovoo and Skype constantly disconnecting life will be good. To be fair the inspire is also disconnecting at random too.
I had this problem as well - it dropped if my wi-fi was 2 bars or so, and it seemed to fluctuate. Tried the 2.4 only mode and it seemed to help a little, but I still lost connection frequently at only 2 bars. It would drop and look like wi-fi restarted and then connect again at 3 bars.
Disable AT&T Smart Wifi.

I took the phone back to costco and got a new one. The phone rep connected the new phone to his wifi. I walked to the other side of the warehouse and never lost connection. Came home and the phone has not disconnected once. Must have been a hardware issue.

is there any fix for wifi in JB roms?

My problem is that I can turn on the wifi but it doesn't find any network.
I had the same problem with icecoldsandwich but it was fixed using wifix manger,I tried wifix manger in JB roms but it is not installing.
By the way I think it is regional issue
Any ideas how to fix it?
There is a setting where the wifi will disconnect on a weak signal. Be sure that is turned off and see if that helps.

I've tried it but didn't work, the phone doesn't find any network and I am sitting next to the router so I don't think it is signal problem
I know this is a silly answer, but have you made sure your back cover is on properly?
Even better, take it off, carefully clean the contacts then put it on making sure it seats properly.

I don't think it's hardware issue, because Wi-Fi is working on other roms.
Another thing when I remove the sim card the Wi-Fi works on the jb Roms.
try to use Phandroid android..wifi works well..

I've tried it and Wi-Fi only works when the sim card is removed.
Doesn't it work in the new JB ROM anyway?
It must be something to do with your sim/provider. I have been using WiFi since I installed this rom and the previous version. No problems at all.

Wlan_rx_wake... Anyone else??

This seems to be highest on my kernel wakelocks. I searched Google and found out that modifying my wifi network and making it static should do the trick but it didn't work. Anyone else suffering from this problem?

Problem is that the router maybe sending out packets to check on what all devices are still connected and this will vary from router to router and further down to their specific settings ...
It has started happening on my home router but office one is just fine ... so I am going to do some experiments on the home one to find the culprit settings ... its Netgear btw

If you have Wifi connected while the screen is off it will continue to be the highest.
Oh I see, do I'm guessing there's no real fix for it

Try this....
Goto Settings > WiFi > Advanced and set "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to anything but "always"....
see how that works out for you...

Maybe a silly question, but I am always wondering if you turn off WiFi when screen off, will I still receive email if I have push email? Of course assume I don't have 3g enabled.

You're turning of wifi, not cellular data so you'd still get pushes and other stuffs coming in from the web.

My battery history shows that my Wifi is on all the time even though it is turned off. Has somebody the same problem?
I am running GPE 4.3 version.
Thanks,
