hello guys me question is
I want to disconnect app from internet (wifi+3g)
In short I want to run the app offline how can I ??
If you have rooted phone, you can use some app from g play store...
I have avast! mobile security installed - it has firewall included and successfully block/allow internet access for apps i want to.
I think you can use titanium back up or other like application to break market link or stop being connected to internet.

How do you backup apps and app settings without rooting?
I have tried Kies Air and Android Manager but they don't work.
My wireless ip that the apps say I should register is 192.168.2.14, but when I do an ipconfig, only 192.168.2.13 shows up. I can't ping 192.168.2.14. I've also tried reinstalling my wireless card drivers and resetting my computer.
I read that with 2.2, Google supposedly backs-up your app settings, but it doesn't! My phone crashed and I reinstalled all the same apps manually and none of the app settings came back! For example, for call block apps, I had to input all the blocked numbers again manually.
Is there a USB based solution or an app that will backup app settings?
Just get titanium backup from the market!

I have the lates firmware, the JPY I took it from samifirmwares.com
any ideas?
The KIES works only with cable (USB) connection in normal case. You can download Kies Air for the mobile wich enable the Wi-Fi connection with the PC. Another solution the WebKey software (you can download it from the market) but this app requires root privileges. With WebKey you can handle the phone from your browser, capture screenshots, send SMS, etc.
from where I can download kies air?
thanks for your answer

Soft Data Cable from the Market is an awesome app to wirelessly tether your phone to your computer without mounting the SD card to the Computer. It's simple and easy to use and makes a great way to get rid of tethering to transfer, music, movies, files, or anything else you need to get back and forth. Create a shortcut on your desktop to the FTP address for one click access on the computer as well as the phone!
Ill give it a try.

...but it isn't compatible with wifi tethering apps (which is my only source of internet).

tried it out and works great. you can even browse in the root directory if you enable that option. my only problem was finding it in the market because it is listed as software data cable.
Sorry to bump, does this require, and will it work on a Transform?

I'm running gingeritis 3d and I'm trying to connect my laptop to my phone. The included wifi tether app doesn't work.
The verizon app has always worked for me so I was wondering if anyone had the apk.
I tried googling one but after downloading and attempting to install via root explorer I got app not installed.

In 3 days you won't be able to use it for free anymore so I'd look for other options if I were you

I haven't tried this yet but I have tried other bluetooth like tethering apps and it almost always crashes as if there is some library missing on the gear that it needs.
I was able to get the app installed and running on both devices. No success with internet sharing though...

Part of the issue is that open garden requires proxies in Firefox. Sadly you cannot access the settings to manually configure them. OG does have an auto add but only if you can access the internet.:banghead:
