ICS on AT&t's Nexus S - Off-topic

I would like to update my girlfriends at&t nexus s to ICS. Can someone point me in the right direction? I've been on this site before but I've owned Motorola phones and currently a Nexus 7. Needless to say that isn't of any use for what I would like to do. So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. And yes I know Google is my friend. Still searching at the moment. But any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Strange I thought all of the Nexus S had been upgraded to ICS, he'll I was reading this morning that they are about to roll out JB for it. I know my cousin's Nexus S is on ICS OTA. Anyways, here is the Nexus S forum. I'm assuming she doesn't have the Nexus S 4G or you would have specified, take note that there are two dev subforums for each device respectively. That should get you started, you will find what you're looking for there. If you search and just really can't find anything I'll help you search, but we would all rather you find it yourself. Good luck.

Thanks a lot. She is definitely on GB. 2.3.6. I'm about to read up on it now.

Your link didn't lead to anything. Doesn't matter as I was able to find the Nexus S thread anyway. Don't know how I bypassed it in the first place. Thanx anyway.

Apparently not all Nexus S' have been updated via OTA

Hey looks like the Motorola Droid/Milestone will get it before the Nexus One.
Saw some reports that they are aiming for a July release for Droid and August for Droid X.
Nice - I really appreciate the way google is treating its Nexus One customers.

[Q]: Google Wallet on the One

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere on XDA, but I was just wondering if anyone has managed/tried to get Google wallet to work on our beloved HTC one?
Many thanks in advance for all feedback.
I've tried a few times with various firmware versions, and from what I gather unless you are on Sprint it seems rather futile.
Furthest I've gotten is with the modoco mod is the "setting up wallet, this could take 5 minutes." message, but nothing ever happens. I would love to get it working, so hopefully somebody figures it out.

I too am waiting to get wallet on the HTC One. Anyone have it?
I just got my htc one about half an hour ago as I'm waiting for it, I asked the same question. It can be done by pulling the nfc secure files from the sprint version, flashing that, then flashing the modoco mod. If you try without the libs then it won't work. I've learned this from the galaxy s3 forums. We need someone that knows how to pull the libs from the sprint htc one and make a flash able zip. And I think this is the wrong section for questions lol

how come it only works in the U.S? I was reading in the thread that they disable something in the phone so google doesnt know the phone is rooted etc?
The modaco method does not work. It comes with an insufficient privileges notification stating "insufficient secure element privileges for this system image (release-keys)" I really miss this app. I used it so much, was upset when i found out it only works for sprint.
I didn't get insufficient privileges, but it still would never setup. If you got yours to work in the U.S. krps, are you GSM or Sprint? And did you follow the instructions for modaco verbatim or did you do anything different?
Logcat shows no SMX found even on the google play experience device.

*ROM* JBsourcery *First port attempt. Need testers

i did read the dev guidlines. im sorry this thread isnt set up the proper way. once i make sure this port actually works i will post it the proper way...right now this is all a crapshoot for me. :lol
I Used to have a Galaxy Nexus and loved the ROM JBSourcery but I want the ROM on my Nexus 4 but have never had any luck with devs to port it. So I followed the directions on how to port a ROM over to a new device. It was rather straightforward and easy....maybe a little too easy. Anyways. I have to have my phone up and running for the good part of the week so Im unable to test this. If anyone out there is willing to test it and give me an update on whats working and whats broken on it I would appriciate it.
I take no responsibilies on your device bricking. I take no credit for the contents of the ROM. I am simply trying to port it over to a new device
****download link removed until i can find a proper GSM version of JBsourcery to port.
Thanks to all those that tested for me!

In my experience, it generally stands as a rule of thumb to port from gsm to gsm, and cdma to cdma. portinga cdma rom to flash onto a gsm device can lead to issues....or so the experience I've had has proven

MY HTC ONE from sprint Got 4.3 UPDATE

Hey guyssssssss I live in Puerto Rico and my 4.3 update just got to me SEP/30
I used the standard process for unloocking bootloader /TMWP Recovery/ SuperSU/ and installed costom ROM. And everything is still working. If anyone else got the update please tell me.
Update:
A bit about my phone. I bought it from a best buy clerk that won it in a pre release of the HTC one ( promotional propaganda to push the phone as they came into market. CWM touch recovery don't work on my phone always crashes.
Here here not smoking nothing. 5 hours of semi bricked device and I am back. No joke I can't get back to stock. RUU's dont work so I cant replicate what I did in a video. The update came to my phone Sep30. Tried to update but since I had a costume recovery kept falling to update ( even though the phone was forcing me to update everytime) decided to use the original RUU and update all the way throu. At 4 updates later I finally had it. All the bloatware from HTC wanted to update and so did sprint. What I first ran to check was the VVM because I know is not working on 4.3 and in fact had an update. Extracted the .apk and .odex and are on other post. And whent ahead and unlocked bootloader wish did normaly. Next went to install recovery and so it did. Then installed super user. All good. Final step change ROM so I did. When came the time to do it all again I couldnt. When I relocked phone it erased side loaded ROM and RUU don't work. Hit error as is tries to identify version. Hope HTC releases the update. If anyone has any way of getting RUU to work please page me. I would love to replicate the update for you guys
A ~250MB update is going to be the 1.31.651.2 OTA. If it is anything different than 4.1.2 then please post screen shot of About Phone -> Software Information screen. Appreciate it.

Probably a minor update. Haven't heard anything on Elevate unless Sprint is keeping htc out of the loop
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Last rumor that circulated said the update for 4.4.2 was going to be around 01/24/14 +/- so if I was a betting man I'd say it is a minor update to fix the issues with the 12/18 update. That and the HTC site that they say provides "real time updates" on OTA development says sprint is still in the integration phase of the 4.4.2 update (certification through carriers and google would need to go pretty fast to make it out by wednesday). I wouldn't put too much trust in HTC elevate though, the entire site seems to be a "pat HTC on the back" community.

It's interesting to see they keep doing this type of small updates instead of go for the big deal. Unless they are addressing some serious problems(like security issues,) they should test the heck out of their one release and make it solid, instead of pushing one and the other just trying to fix the bugs in the fix they just released. it's a PR nightmare to me for these kind of activities.

I joined elevate by follow a link from here, and found it little use. I can't find any valuable information, but just a bunch of people discussing pointlessly. Anyways, HTC is a phone manufacturer, not like LG or SS with all the material, parts, a lot others. So I doubt they can come up with anything revolutionary. They have better software functions, that's true.

It could well be that in their testing these small Sprint features are breaking the OTA and that these features need to be updated just to enable the OTA.
