6.7.232 audio buzz/whine - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hey all,
I rooted my my phone to .232 and am experiencing an audio buzz in my headphones using all audio apps. Ive tried pandora and mp3s from my sd.
Ive so far tried
*turning off radio, via airplane made -- NO LUCK
* turning off audio effets under settings -- NO LUCK
* restart phone -- NO LUCK
is this something wrong with my phone or is this common for the .232 leaks?
Thanks in advance,
atomicmonkey15

From what I remember, many Bionics have had this problem since launch. Mine does.

try unrooting,if it stays then you might have a hardware issue.

I've seen this complaint on several forums. I don't think it's a hardware issue, as several people had the problem with an ICS leak, downgraded to GB and the issue went away. Not sure what you can do, though.

I'm one that has this problem as well.
I've tried several different headphones and apps and messed with the sound settings (disable effects, etc.), as well as downloaded volume apps, but have not been successful.
I've even tried installing AOKP (milestone 6) via safestrap and the buzz/whine was still present so it seems to have to do with the kernel.
I can only get rid of it by reverting to 902 or 905 GB. If I didn't have a lapdock, I would probably stick with GB for the time being.

TELUS – SHOLS_U2_03.11.0 and app2sd works too!!

ok i have updated to the new firmware and used app2sd from my previous post(other ones dont work on my milestone)
first i did 2 nano backups one just data and the other a full backup in case i screw up.i then flashed the new telus sbf after i did a wipe and then factory reset ,then i rooted(using open recovery)installed app2sd then did a nano restore of my data and voila its running with all my apps.
i must say the update is awesome gps locks in real quick it runs smoother overall everything launcher games, menu, home screen etc without overclock apk.no lag at all ..call are clearer but lets see on that still early.here is the link to the file http://groupoften.wordpress.com/ and my previous post on how to app2sd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692367
I am using this one since the day of release. All annoying bugs are ironed - location based service in 3G on non-Telus network works, no more music starting and stopping on its own, the newer and better youtube app and many other improvements.
Overall - HUGE improvements over current Telus stock one.
Edit: I forgot to mention the most important improvement: people stopped complaining I am breaking up on them when talking to me!!
do i just flash this using RBD?
Simply follow the how-to: http://groupoften.wordpress.com/category/how-to/

yes i love that i dont break up on call's anymore also i notice battery life is better.the phone no longer reboots on its on
im new here, just a question, so this is the SBF file, what part of the phone does it change? I have the nandroid backup from other posters here after i flashed this SBF my RAM has gone down a lot, does anyone know? thanks
Check the other goodie G.O.T. offers - their open recovery. There are few hacks that it can apply which will cure your memory problems (as well as others like paid apps on market/etc).
the got hacks do not work you just get stuck in a boot loop
Just installed this firmware everything works. Ran GOT openrecovery too. 1.04a worked flawlessly. Running apps2sd from openrecovery was so cool. Partitioned my sd card, installed busybox, installed apps2sd, as well all my apps got moved over automatically. All done from openrecovery.
imma have to try this out soon
Shamelessly bumping this thread
Thanks a lot for the link to the ROM and the GOTS OpenRecovery, I never even knew about this. Hopefully the music auto-start issue goes away now!

Music auto-start is fixed. Along with geolocation issues in 3G and noise cancelation issues. Battery seem to last a tad longer too. Overall - I am extremely happy with the GOT Telus release!

I had issues earlier with G.O.T.'s JIT but realized it was my fault and it had to do with the dalvik-cache. After clearing it and installing JIT, those problems went away. However I was still unable to get JIT working 100%. Everything seemed to work fine until I started up Google Navigation, and then as soon as it locked onto a satellite the Milestone rebooted by itself. (EDIT: It's probably an overclocking issue, I had VSEL=56 with 1GHz; turning it up to 62 seems to have fixed it)
Audio bug doesn't seem to happen anymore. I did notice, however, at one point the audio played for a fraction of a second while doing some file browsing.... It was probably the bug trying to show up + the fix trying to suppress it. No big deal, as long as it's not too loud when it happens in public ;-)
yeah it happens.
I think it was a quick and dirty fix for it. Unfortunately only applicable to the stock Music app. Any other media app will auto play still

[Q] My downloaded videos no longer play...

I've been on CM6 stable since it was released and everything has been peachy.
A week or two ago, though, I fancied trying the korean radio and a new kernel (an intersectraven one) - the first time I've experimented with either. I usually just stay with whatever the ROM comes with.
Now I have discovered my downloaded videos no longer play. Well, they play for about half a second then I get the "Sorry, this video cannot be played" message. Videos taken with the camera play fine.
I thought it might have something to do with the radio or the kernel, so firstly I changed the kernel to the pershoot one that's available in ROM Manager. No success there, so next up was the radio. I downgraded back to 4.06 (not too bad since the korean one didn't offer a significant improvement on data speeds). Unfortunately the videos are still not playing
Will I have to reinstall CM6? If yes, will any of my settings revert to default? I know I would necessarily have to wipe, but I'm worried that even flashing CM6 on top of CM6 without a wipe, it'd wipe all my configurations.
Thanks to anyone who knows how to fix this slight issue.
p.s. whilst typing this out, I've found that Rockplayer still plays them, but I'd still like to get the stock player running them if possible.

Music player freezing all the time (tryed reinstaling)

I have Darky 10.2, before 10 RE something and its the same. Player is randomly freezing all the time. If I install differend player (like winamp) its the same... Any sugestions?
is this while using headphones? if so, the problem is a loose connection with the headphones -- I tried several different payers thinking it was software related only to find out it is a physical connection issue with the headphones plug
Just tried: its the same on "speaker"... 2-3songs and its freezes :/
Edit: listening to radio is working just fine...
I've encountered the same problem with my i9000 sgs.
I've both with and without headphones.
What happens is my sgs will go into sleep mode then shortly after it will hang and I'd have to restart. However, if i keep the phone on, there are no issues. I initially thought it was a problem with SetCPU. I uninstalled it but the problem still persisted.
I'm running speedmod k15i t13 on 2.3.3 GB, base version XJV9.
Also, i do experience a problem where the alarm clock function of the clock regularly does not sound at all. I've read that it is because i cleaered my RAM after setting it to go off, is that true? (Sorry for thread jacking just wanted to know whether it is related)
Bought Galaxy Note. Working without problems^^

ICS Troubles...

Finally took the OTA update to ICS after fighting it for so long.. Just as i suspected, i have a host of issues.. Rooted via razr
Bluetooth constantly dropping out. Just like it did with the leak, for me. I can't seem to find ANY fix, anywhere out there. I need my bluetooth, i use it for so many things.
Significantly slower than the leak was. Ugh.. The leak was ultra snappy, and this is constantly bogged down. Everything takes twice as long
Lots of FCs. Seems unstable.
Now, i thought about FDR'ing and starting from scratch.. however.. i'll still have the bluetooth problem. I'm thinking of unrooting and going to verizon to see what they say.
So few questions:
1. Can i unroot via razr also? If not, how do i? Should i delete titanium or any other "root only" apps?
2. Would verizon actually be able to do anything about the bluetooth issue? Would they swap out a different phone perhaps?
3. Lastly, my screen is broken. Think they'll hold that against me?
This is from Imish Android Forums:
Restarted Phone
Restarted Bluetooth Device
Went into settings --> applications --> all -> bluetooth share - and clear all data
Went into settings --> applications --> all --> Bluetooth Test - and clear all data
Tapped already paired bluetooth device and hold it for few seconds and at the same time hold the bluetooth device
and here you go, it got paired....
Not sure if this process works for all, but it certainly helped me
Thanks for all the help, and i never saw the GEAR icon on the already paired device
And Architech:
EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed mine by turning off my Pro Plantronics headset. Then, I held the power button in until it started flashing blue and red. I did a scan for it and it paired. This was after I did the clear data thing, so maybe that helped too. Anyway, fyi for anyone that comes across this thread.
From the sounds of it factory reset your phone or if you can just flash a rom to it to get rid of the updates, like you said, seems like the updates coz problems, frankly, take a look at eclipse ICS or Icarus HD ICS roms, hope this helps.

I wouldn't assume this is true. Your Bluetooth issues could be caused by leftover gunk from Gingerbread, in which case an FDR would fix the problem. Personally I use multiple Bluetooth devices and they all work flawlessly with my Bionic running stock ICS.
Official ICS should also not be running slower than the leaks. You should definitely try an FDR before attempting anything else. It has helped numerous people with speed/battery/other issues after the upgrade.

[Q] Various issues with Cyanogen Mod nightly 10.1

Hello everybody,
I have been waiting a bit until posting this issue to see if future nightly builds of Cyanogenmod solved the problem but to no avail, I already posted on their forums but so far no one has been able to figure out the problem... not that they tried.
I'm using an international Galaxy note (n7000) and these issues have been popping up since last month.
The main problem comes up when using the android keyboard and listening to music at the same time, the phone just seem to struggle a lot, music begins to stutter and usually the phone just becomes unresponsive and I have to force reboot the whole thing. A pain in the neck. Lately the phone just hangs whenever it feels like it and I have to reboot it, it usually happens twice a day.
Sometimes you're able to come back to normal after a few minutes but rarely.
The problem was even worse while using SwiftKey, now I'm back to just using the normal android keyboard but still the issue pops up almost every day. I already did a wipe data/factory reset, no avail.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank you in advance.
Post a log. Which ROM where you on before flashing CM.
sounds like a memory leak, try newer versions or trace down the issue. Check which apps consume most and cpu when it occurs.
Check as previous poster said logfiles

CM 10.1.3-N7000 bluetooth issues
Hello,
I'm using CM 10.1.3-N7000 and I really love it, but I'm forced to use another ROM, just because of the carkit compatibility via bluetooth. The sound is extremely bad.
Does anyone know if it's fixed in later versions or earlier versions?
Are there other ROM's, ot based on CM without the bluetooth problem?
I'm really searching since two days now to find a bluetoothfix, but can't find it.
Pairing and so on is no problem at all, it's just the soundquality that is terrible. (it was not the case with my stockROM)
thank you for giving me some advice!
I switched to Omnirom and I think the problem has been solved now.
If I see that the same problem is back as it was with CM, I will come back to that.
