Hi all,
Do you guy know how to set our own sound as ringtone/notification?
I also try creating:
/media/notification
/media/ringtomes
or even
/Ringtones (which use to work on ICS 4.0.4)
but now I still cannot change ringtone except for the given one with Rom. If anyone know, please help me
Thank in advance for suggestion.

Try to download app from the market.. many apps there could give you the freedom of set as a ring tone or notification tone .. But I don't know how to create it as a build in the ROM it self

Thanks for suggestion, I will try. but if there is a way to create own folder like ICS do, it would be great
Hey
You can take ringtones from other roms and add it to the ics or jb roms...
1.select the ringtones of the rom you what to copy
Goto the downloaded rom, double click it,open system then goto media and copy the audio folder(or the tones you what)
2.select the rom you what them in
Goto the rom you what them in and paste the set or files in appropriate locations
After that flash the rom again...doing the wipes...
That's one method..the other is u copy the files to internal memory card
In the internal memory card there'll be a folder named "media"
Open it and create a folder as "Ringtones" and paste the tones there...
I haven't tried the second method but the first one works for sure...i have done that one..
Hopes this sorts your problem
Cheers

It also may depend on what build you're using. I had troubles losing my custom tones -- in one instance, an incoming call started flashing onscreen but it was silent. And i know a custom tone was set minutes before. But after the call, sound settings tones flipped to unknown, sdcard tones weren't in the pulldown menu, and Gallery was empty of pics. Right now, they seem to stick with pawitp's 0723 build, but are just a tad slow to show after a reboot.

Do you want to make your Android device sound like a GALAXY Nexus? Down below you have a zipped archive with the whole Audio directory pulled out from a GNex device with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The sound pack includes alarm, notifications, ringtones, messages and UI sounds. Use a PC/laptop with Windows and follow the instructions below:
1, Extract the zip file (it should be automatically renamed “audio.” If not, rename the folder “audio.”)
2, Place the “audio” folder in the “media” folder found on your device’s SD card. If there is no “media” file then create one.
3, Choose ringtones and notifications from your device’s settings and the new Ice Cream Sandwich sounds should show up under their respective names.
4, Enjoy!
To get the UI sounds working is a little bit trickier you need a rooted device and you also need to move the UI directory (if not renamed to UI do it manually) into /system directory. Use this path system > media > audio > ui.
awh, gotta register? and instead of posting links that lead to other sites, which also leads to another site, why dont you just put up a link yourself here? o.o oh well.

I am able to download just fine, without registering for anything
And thank you OP, great download!
There seems to be no audible selection, and the keyboard sound lags.
Couldn't get it working at 1st, reflashed my ROM and now have both my original sounds and new ones.
Do the sounds seem to play low for anyone?

Didn't work with NSCollab Sprint 1.0.51 rom. I placed the extracted folder in sd > media and the sounds aren't showing up. Reboot didn't give any different results.
Should I just paste this folder in system > media since I'm running a custom rom?

Okay so which one is the actual default ringtone and which one the default notification sound in ICS?
Alright, I know you've been waiting for this one. This is the V20b ArcCamera that has an option to disable shutter sound... and now NO AUTO FOCUS sound too. Modified by yours truly.
This can be used with V20n (Tested). I just don't know if others can too (V20's).
No quality is lost, just a disabled Auto Focus sound... Enjoy!
Flash the zip in CWM, or extract and push the apk in system/app and set permission to 644 (rw-r-r).

can we switch it on and off when we want or is it permanently disabled? and how different is it from this .... sorry just wanna get a clearer picture =)
Whoops... what a late news for me. I guess it's the same.
This one came from V20b which has the option to disable shutter sound. Only AF is permanently disabled. That one (link) I guess is both disabled permanently as it cam from v20n that when deodexed losses the option to disable shutter sound.
Ahh ok ok was just trying to figure out the diff. Thanks dude!

The AF sounds (.ogg). both success and fail sound. Get an empty file and delete the original .ogg's. Then rename the empty file to the ones you deleted and put .ogg in the end. So when camera finds the sound it would be empty/no sound.
AFAIK, MIUI camera has options to mute sounds. I tried it and it was completely silent.

I see... I didn't test it thoroughly but that explains why thy woman got angry as I wasn't replying. Cause I lost the sound of the tones and i have SMS.
Thanks, great in V20-O
can you please make the v20s too? because the v20s camera is different. I'm using supressed 7.2 which is based on v20s..
I'm trying to edit ArcCamera.apk, using winzip, replace the .ogg files with empty file, but when pushing back the apk to system, the system cannot read that as an application.. trying to restart my launcher, the camera isn't there yet.. am I doing something wrong?

Use camera/source that are available like this one. Makes no difference.

Hi !
1.How to set ringtone from my music? Don't see any prompts. I am using INFINITUM.
2.How to change language without going to settings each time like Input Method prompt in GB roms on long press.
3.Is there a possibility of better Camera and induction of FM Radio in future ?
4.Faster USB data transfer ?
5.Would ICS have it's own version of Face time later ?
So far, only these questions come to mind and would be obliged if someone can let me know.
thanks!

Just can answer question number 1. Make a folder on your sd named media. Now you put a folder in it called ringtones for ringtone and one for notifications for sms tone. Now you just got to copy the mp3 file in ringtones (notifications) folder and reboot. After that you can select your mp3 as ringtone in settings. Edit: folderpath you got to create (forgot one) sdcard/media/audio/ringtones (notifications)

Go to System Settings -> Language & input -> Android keyboard -> Input languages
Deselect the "Use system language"
Tick on the languages that you want to use in "ACTIVE INPUT METHODS".
Now, you should be able to change the language using the space bar on your keyboard while inputting the text.
Thanks a lot !

Many of us like some ringtones but due to changing ROM of our device we sometime loose them....So i've created this thread you can download the tones
IT INCLUDES :-
ALARMS
NOTIFICATIONS
RINGTONES
CM7 notifications- http://db.tt/7P3loSWA
Touchwiz3 alarms- http://db.tt/3jicLC9s
TW3 notifications- http://db.tt/elF84Bs5
TW3 ringtones- http://db.tt/ptvtHVFL
U can just download them and put in SDcard-media-notifications (for notifications)
SDcard-media-ringtones(for ringtones)
For ALARMS u need root explorer :-
Goto System-media-alarms and put ALARM files in it....
ALL THESE FILES ARE IN .OGG FORMAT... HIT THANKS

I think you can put the alarms in SDCard/Media/Alarms ...
Or anywhere on sdcard, as long as the folder is called "Alarms".
Could someone from stock rom extract the "Harmony.ogg" ringtone from their Atrix HD? I like that ringtone. Thanks :cyclops:
Hey.
Tried to find that ringtone for a while then realized you might be referring to stock AT&T.
I'm using MR.
Nevertheless. I made a folder of all the ringtones.
http://db.tt/EfcyzCb4
Thanks Mister_Simon for the folder, it doesn't contain the "harmony.ogg" but i think there is a ringtone in there i will use in the meanwhile..and Yes I was referring to the AT&T stock rom. I'm not sure, but I think that's the only rom that contains the "Harmony.ogg" ringtone. I had extracted it from the system folder before I had switched to a custom rom, (because I don't really much like the ringtones custom roms have) but accidentally deleted it. I didn't want to go back to stock just to get the ringtone so if someone is still on stock att motorola atrix hd rom and can spare some time to extract it and send it. That'd be very nice.
edit: don't forget!!... Before ya'll flash from stock to custom rom... extract the ringtone! D: ..thanks
Here we go...
