Could someone from stock rom extract the "Harmony.ogg" ringtone from their Atrix HD? I like that ringtone. Thanks :cyclops:
Hey.
Tried to find that ringtone for a while then realized you might be referring to stock AT&T.
I'm using MR.
Nevertheless. I made a folder of all the ringtones.

Thanks Mister_Simon for the folder, it doesn't contain the "harmony.ogg" but i think there is a ringtone in there i will use in the meanwhile..and Yes I was referring to the AT&T stock rom. I'm not sure, but I think that's the only rom that contains the "Harmony.ogg" ringtone. I had extracted it from the system folder before I had switched to a custom rom, (because I don't really much like the ringtones custom roms have) but accidentally deleted it. I didn't want to go back to stock just to get the ringtone so if someone is still on stock att motorola atrix hd rom and can spare some time to extract it and send it. That'd be very nice.
edit: don't forget!!... Before ya'll flash from stock to custom rom... extract the ringtone! D: ..thanks
Here we go...

I'm currently trying to compile a new ROM based on the WWE GB release.
Can anyone tell me how to add the CRT animations?

Haha, I have been trying to do that myself since this morning, but failed miserably (but I am a rookie, this explains that).
What I read is that the animations are in system/framework/framework-res.apk, which is a renamed zip anyway.
So what I understood is: unzip this file, replace anim/lock_screen_enter.xml and/or anim/lock_screen_behind_enter.xml with the proper ones, rezip the newly framework-res.zip, rename to .apk, and supposedly build the ROM with this.
But I tried with l0st.prophet's files from LPRemixHD, and it did not work here :'(
I am sure there is something I missed.

So am I mate!
Haven't played with ROMs since the Hero, and even that was mild fiddling - This will be my first proper ROM.

Could you attach those files for me, to save me downloading the whole ROM - I'm on fairly limited bandwidth.
Trouble is, I won't really be able to test this until my XTC Clip arrives - I'm just getting prepared!
You cant just replace xml files, the apk has to be decompiled, xmls modified and then the apk recompiled or else you will get a boot loop.
There's quite a few changes to services.jar, framework-res.apk and HTC-resources.apk. I can't remember off the top of my head but I suggest you take the files from my Rom, take stock files and compare.

Thanks for that. I'll give it a look over.
Is it possible to make your own HTC skins/themes and if yes how exactly?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried editing sense themes since.. FOREVER ago, since things like the htc hero / sapphire / dream "were in"
What I did back then was open up the rom file you download, and in it you'll see a bunch of stuff and go into system\app\ and modify to your liking!
I just took a quick look at a sense rom and it appears that "rosie.apk" is still there. IF things haven't changed as much.. that Should be your main launcher.
So what youcould do is open that via winrar and extract images and stuff out.. then edit it!
Other things like the status bar, should be in framework-res.apk (which should be in framework instead of /apps/)
I've only modded my themes using roms from aosp or vanilla so I don't nkow sense too well.. However this should give you a basic understanding! and the more you wanna edit, the more .apk files you wanna open! good luck
On a similar note, I am trying to modify android with customised sounds (lock/unlock/key press etc) and having some issues.
I have directly tried to place the .ogg files into the following path within android itself using droid explorer but that didnt seem to work.
The path i have been placing it is within the following:
...\system\media\audio\ui
Has anyone managed to successfully do this either with a working rom or pre flashing, in which case could give me some pointers on how to do this?
Thanks
am using go desktop...
Hi all,
Do you guy know how to set our own sound as ringtone/notification?
I also try creating:
/media/notification
/media/ringtomes
or even
/Ringtones (which use to work on ICS 4.0.4)
but now I still cannot change ringtone except for the given one with Rom. If anyone know, please help me
Thank in advance for suggestion.

Try to download app from the market.. many apps there could give you the freedom of set as a ring tone or notification tone .. But I don't know how to create it as a build in the ROM it self

Thanks for suggestion, I will try. but if there is a way to create own folder like ICS do, it would be great
Hey
You can take ringtones from other roms and add it to the ics or jb roms...
1.select the ringtones of the rom you what to copy
Goto the downloaded rom, double click it,open system then goto media and copy the audio folder(or the tones you what)
2.select the rom you what them in
Goto the rom you what them in and paste the set or files in appropriate locations
After that flash the rom again...doing the wipes...
That's one method..the other is u copy the files to internal memory card
In the internal memory card there'll be a folder named "media"
Open it and create a folder as "Ringtones" and paste the tones there...
I haven't tried the second method but the first one works for sure...i have done that one..
Hopes this sorts your problem
Cheers

It also may depend on what build you're using. I had troubles losing my custom tones -- in one instance, an incoming call started flashing onscreen but it was silent. And i know a custom tone was set minutes before. But after the call, sound settings tones flipped to unknown, sdcard tones weren't in the pulldown menu, and Gallery was empty of pics. Right now, they seem to stick with pawitp's 0723 build, but are just a tad slow to show after a reboot.

If you are talking about the various sounds then do this.
On your /sdcard/ partition create these ...
Notifications
Alarms
Ringtones
You can then fill them with whatever you would like. You can visit zedge.net and grab so many ringers, alarms and notifications it'll make your head spin.
Here's another option for you :

A whole bunch of sounds that I have accumulated from others.

No, it's not flashable. Need to unzip and place manually in the proper folders located in :
/system/media/audio.
And this is a zip of the stock ui sounds :

I flashed Android 10 ROM and am loving it, except for the lock/unlock sounds. Those two wooden blocks don't do it for me. XD I would love to get the stock sounds and replace them if anyone can pull them off the stock ROM.
Here you go.
Thanks so much!
