if you have the t-mobile web plan, your APN is wap.voicestream.com
if you have total internet plan, your APN is internet2.voicestream.com
the t-mobile web is a lot cheaper, you can add the following proxy setting that allow you to get to most of the web, email, and sync with your company exchange.
Proxy setting: getmorespeed.voicestream.com port 8080.
no proxy if you pay for the total internet.
thank you. Worked for me as well.
Re: Settings I use . . .
Hi,
So did you get VPN to work on the phone? If yes, how?

I've bought a HTC S730 from expansys.co.uk and a UK O2 PAYG sim with the unlimited web bolt on, Benig a bit of an O2 & S730 novice I just assumed that all I would need to do is simply inset the sim into the handset and I would be free to browse the Internet.
Sadly that didn't work. I've tried all the known APN settings for 02, I've also contacted O2 but as they dont support the handset they couldn't help.
Does anyone here have this handset on O2 PAYG and can access the internet? What settings do I need to enter?
Regards
danb
They wouldnt help a paying customer? Thats really crappy especially since your not asking for "support" on the handset, but the network itself.
Have you used them in the past or do you have a friend with a phone on their network? You should only really need the GPRS configuration stuff to get it connected to their network.
I am not familier with O2 at all but I hope that the following helps, it was what I came up with.
O2 GPRS settings (WAP):
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk/
APN address (PAYG): payandgo.o2.co.uk
Gateway (IP) address : 193.113.200.195
Username : payandgo
Password: password
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Security: Off
Port number: 9201
O2 GPRS settings (Email/Web):
Homepage: http://pda.o2.co.uk/
APN address: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: mobileweb
Password: password
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Security: Off
Email servers (POP): mail.o2.co.uk
Email servers (SMTP): smtp.o2.co.uk
DNS Servers: 193.113.200.200 and 193.113.200.201
Key that in under Settings > Connections > GPRS > (Either make a new one or edit an existing one (for each I believe)...)

Thanks man,
This is the settings for contract sims, either way i've tried it, I found all the APN setting on line, but my problem is that I cant get it to work on this handset.
Does anyone use ON PAYG with HTC's Wings?
Regards
Dan
only other thing I can suggest is are you sure your account has access to the GPRS networks with a data plan or are you trying to see if they will dock minutes / charge you per KB... Hope you get it fixed
How to configure GPRS. I'm using Itjes roms (v12, LEO) but i can't get my wap working. I can choose on connection wizards TELE2, but nothing happens. With other operators (Omnitel, Bite) wap works perfect.
So I decided make it by my self (manualy). But i don't know how. Maybe someone can help me?
There is GPRS settings:
profile name: TELE2 GPRS
start page: http://wap.tele2.lt
WAP GW IP: 130.244.196.090
authentification: normal
connection type: permanent
data bearer: GPRS
APN: wap.tele2.lt
port:8080
username: -
password: -
sorry for my english. And thank you.
Edit: Problem solved. I just needed to change internet.tele2.lt with wap.tele2.lt ... arhh..
Please delete or lock this thread.

Hi hani.sotari!
I think you don't need dial-up conection if yor phone works in 3G mode and in the network mode it's not locked.
I've found a link with some explanations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dial-up_Internet_access
For example:
"Dial-up connections to the Internet require no infrastructure other than the telephone network and the modems and servers needed to make and answer the calls. Where telephone access is widely available, dial-up remains useful and it is often the only choice available for rural or remote areas, where broadband installations are not prevalent due to low population density, and high infrastructure cost. Dial-up access may also be an alternative for users on limited budgets, as it is offered free by some ISPs, though broadband is increasingly available at lower prices in many countries due to market competition."
Good luck!

i tried every thing but not work
I have a Nokia Lumia 1020 cell phone which uses Windows 8 and is running on Consumer Cellular.
I can access the internet via Wi-Fi but not otherwise.
See the attachment for the info that Consumer Cellular provides:
Here is the info that the 1020 needs:
mms apn
APN _________________________________
User name ____________________________
Password _____________________________
WAP gateway (URL) _____________________
WAP gateway port _______________________
MMSC (URL) ___________________________
MMSC port _____________________________
Maximum MMS size ______________________
mms apn
APN __________________________________
User name _____________________________
Password ______________________________
Proxy server (URL) _______________________
Proxy port ______________________________
What are my replies to the questions that the 1020 is asking?.
APN (Access Point Name) is att.mvno for both Internet and MMS.
There is no username or password required.
The MMS (but not the general Internet data) requires a proxy server: proxy.mvno.ccmobileweb.com, port 80.
You really should just use Nokia's network setup app if you can, though.
That worked!
