Sgs3 floating movies - Motorola Droid Bionic

Seen the videos of the galaxy s3 playing videos in a window and still able to use the phone?
Wish you could do it?
Download this app and you can!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.PopupVideo
I did not create this app nor do I have any affiliation with the creator, just thought it was awesome that it can be done on other phones.

Why?
Its a well known application (not widget) that works as a media server on the PS3 or Windows 7 libraries. Seemed obvious to me bc its a highly touted feature of the Galaxy S phones by Samsung so I feel like a separate thread isn't necessary. Just my opinion
but for some reason allshare does not run in the background which is the one bad thing that means i cant go on the internet and use it at the same time not sure about the Droid X DLNA app
allshare is horrible for upnp and dlna from the receiving end it wont decode correctly until I use minidlna

Samsung media hub

Hi I was wondering if anyone has tried Samsung Media Hub apk on our nexus s yet? Thanks n Happy New Year

i liked that app on my SGS
but there was a bug with the Emails
it always gets lots after new emails arrives
I would love if that apk wored on our Neuxs
I enjoyed that app on my vibrant,i was just wondering hopefully a dev can get it working right one day
I guess I am the only one interested in video downloads. I love watching videos on my vibrant and would move to the Nexus if it had access to tv/movie downloads or streams. Anyone get the media hub working on the Nexus?
it probably requires DRM in TouchWiz or something since Galaxy S is making Media Hub exclusive to Samsung's TouchWiz Experience? who knows.

I used Google Talk to video chat with my girlfriend. She was signed into her gmail (I believe a plugin is needed to add video chat to gmail) on her laptop and I was on my Bionic. Worked great except the camera on her laptop sucks in low light areas.
The only two I use is vtok and Google talk... they both work and vtok is cross platform
I saw that one too. I will try it out.

In settings Enable Video Calling
Then in the Advanced Settings Check Use valid preview surface and I checked Autostart on boot.

I agree! Worked great! It does like to run in the background, some force closes during multi-tasking and doesn't have pop up notifications. But the video works fine.

Why no support from Hulu for tablets?

I'm curious why Hulu isn't supporting the android tablets yet... everything is supported except our tablets
I've seen alot of posts here for people trying to make it work, but that's it... nothing official
so is there a reason that we know of?
It is interesting there's a hulu app for the Kindle.

I have Hulu.com working on my Xoom.
Yeah, we have it on our fire and the ipad. No love for xoom
To make it work on the http though, don't the xoom need to have a hacked flash apk?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
So what if there's no support for hulu. Pretty sure someone made it possible for xoom users to watch hulu on the browser. I did it awhile ago and the steps are really easy if you have rooted your xoom.

Well that's the problem... if it's rooted
why do I have to root my phone to do something that it should do from the start?
my atrix which runs a very similar OS can run hulu. it's the same damn thing almost...
or my gf. she won't know the R of Root if she wanted to root her tablet to watch family guy on hulu...

Pretty sure because the Kindle is based off of Gingerbread and not Honeycomb.
Very good point. Maybe ICS will bring Hulu without having to root etc...

I needed this, so I searched a little, and I found a way, then made a video just to show you. Don't judge, if you dont like it, skip

I found this out pretty late too. I do it with a lot of apps, like buffering mx player in the background.
Ive read that an update is coming and that background playing is going to be possible soon with youtube

Thank you kind Sir. I was looking for a way to do this for quite a while now.
This trick only works with the version that is currently in the Play Store, not the current modified (screen off and 1080p playback) one that is floating around XDA.
Still, once switched to the homescreen, screen-off playback works too.
Just download viral from the play store it allows you to play YouTube in a small window or run in the background

Yeah but you need root + custom rom to use Halo (I know there are some app that emulate it). Viral can use on any device and its very fast, probably use less resources than the Youtube app itself. I can even use it as an offline video player if you set links to open in pop up mode (which then can be fullscreened), I don't even need MXPlayer anymore. Also with Viral you can select YouTube videos to play in any existing resolution available.
Do you guys have any rom review suggestion for me? I want to do review of some rom

YouTube has always driven me nuts with this issue. Many times I just want to listen. I hope the make some changes. The TV connect always popping up in the way, the new comments system.. Etc.
Haven't tried this mod yet but sounds good.
