Hi,
One more query from my end. I am able to user Bluetooth very well with the phone and use it in the gallery. But when I go to File manager and browse through the SD card and when I am trying to send an APK file via Bluetooth, it does not give Bluetooth option under sent. It only gives Gmail and Skype. Am I doing some thing wrong or it is designed to work in this way.
I received all those APK files via Bluetooth and ideally even I should be able to transfer then via bluetooth. Please advise.

afaik there's no option of sending via Bluetooth in the inbuilt file manager ie mi explorer
u can use any other apps like root explorer, file expert etc....
you can try this trick in MI FILE BROWSER:- just rename your .apk file to. txt,.pdf or some thing u.ll get the option to send the file via Bluetooth

use ES Explorer best in my humble opinion
go check this out >>> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
Better use ES File explorer as ezio2 suggested where you also can backup your apk through application manager
Hi paarkhi and ezio2 I will surely try ES File explore...Installing it now.
Thanks reversegear, as advised by you I tried Root Explorer and it worked.

is there any software or anything that can be downloaded to make the bluetooth have more options on the xda mini or wizard??? i would like to be able to transfer files between phones/laptops/computers etc from my xda wizard via bluetooth????? please help..
many thanks
I don't know about phone-to-phone, but you can already do phone-to-laptop or phone-to-desktop via the bluetooth. You can set up activesync to work over the bluetooth connection (I believe there are threads on this forum; if not do a Yahoo search). Once that is set up, you can transfer files between the PC and the phone over bluetooth.

1. ActiveSync and a file browser
2. OBEX does work
3. if you need the File Transfer Profile (see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1065&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for an explanation of the difference between it and OBEX - or, for that matter, ALL these file transfer issues), AKU3 will contain it too
Hi,
Do you know how to access a NAS from the diamond when connected to my home WIFI.
Usually I access it from any home computer via the file explorer :
\\myNASname\
I tried on the diamond : File explorer, menu, go to, Open path, then \\myNASname\
without success...
thanks in advance

Maybe try GS FINDER instead as it works better. Download it from pocketpcfreewares.com
Thansk timn2087.
It works with GS Finder and this tool is great as well.
Total Commander does this perfectly - browse to root and find '\\Plugins' which gives you access to ftp, LAN and registry
Hi fellow galaxy owners,
I'm trying to find the ringtones in the galaxy S in order to transfer one to my gf's phone (the good morning one) but I can only locate them in the settings>audio and display>setting for voice call etc. But the phone options don't allow to transfer them from that menu
But I'm unable to find them through the music player or file explorer. Do I need a root file explorer in order to get to it?
Muchas gracias.
You need Root access to be able to get to the folder containing the original tone

you might have rooted your device, but you will need to pull them using ADB or use an app like 'Root Explorer'
Ok, muchas gracias.
I suspected so, and yea my phone is rooted (did it for the lagfix) so it's a matter of getting rootexplorer then.
Thanks again.
Hi all...
Sorry for the noob question but I am still really new with Android devices.
Can someone please explain how you "sideload" apps to my Galaxy S i9000M?
I really hope this is not an extremely dumb question but I really want to try the
z4root app out that RyanZA has created and it is not YET on the Market for download.
Any assistance and explaination is much appreciated!!!
PS... Im a quick learner so once it is explained I will not bother you PRO's again for something like this...
-EDIT- Ok... I see that this thread is not getting much response so I will add some further information in hopes that someone can explain things to me.
I am on stock JH2 Eclair Firmware (if that matters).
I want to know... How is the best way to download these apk files to my device to be installed? Via my computer and then xfered to my SGS via USB or should I download the file directly to my device?
Once its on my device, where is the best place to put it? ie. Internal SD, External SD, somewhere else?
Please oh mighty DROID experts... Help this unworthy noob in his quest for "DROID-DOM"...
There probably isn't a best way, but if you download the .apk to your desktop computer you can email it to your phone and then save attachment. I use internalsd/download because I don't have an external sd. Then use a program like Astro Browser on your phone and navigate to the download directory. Tap the file you saved and then open app manager to install.
USB or through kies will get the file to your phone easily also.
I like when people create a QR code for their files. I browse mostly on my desktop so I use barcodescanner on my phone to get the link to my phone.

Thank You Videonut. I appreciate the response and the help.
Any way works. Card reader for your SD card, KIEs, USB debugging mode, Dropbox, email attachment, web browser, bluetooth... none of it matters. Location on your phone doesn't matter either. You are still going to have to install it.
Thanks everyone for the explainations. They will come in handy in the future but for now it seems that RyanZA has put the z4root on the market and I no longer need to side load it but again... Thanks for helping!!!
I have a Note 9 Exynos dual sim, stock Android 9.
I used a new video software and recorded something important that saves into folder /storage/emulated/150/video
I can not find this file anywhere, possibly because I am not rooted? The adb pull command doesn't work either.
I can see and play the file from the apps internal gallery but that is it....I can't upload to onedrive or transfer to PC.
What needs to be done to get this file from my phone to PC?
Thank you for your help.

go into your file manager and move it to another folder or your external SD card. If you can move it internally, you should be able to view it from your PC and therefore transfer it. If you cant move it internally (cant imagine why you wouldnt be able to) then youre hosed. But that sounds like a unicorn situation.
Thanks but I cannot see it in any file manager I have checked so far. I only see it in the Apps own gallery...

Is the app a secret too?
It's called Quick Video Recorder. It's great for one button instant record function... But it isn't great if you want your videos off your phone it seems ?
Can I root safely without losing my data? From what I've read online rooting removes knox encryption and Samsung Pay and this can't be reversed... Is that correct?
SOLVED!
I solved this by putting the file manager app into the secure folder where the app is located. Then I could navigate to it. Makes sense really.
