Thanks for compiling these videos. I get my Nexus 7 on Friday and I'll check these out before doing anything....though it looks like Rooting/Flashing is easier on this device than any other device I've been on.

Nexus 4 Stock Kernel[JOP40D]

I wasn't going to upload this because I don't have the device and figured someone else would, but because I keep getting PMs about it I decided to pull it from the factory images on Google.
Thanks to neectron for making it into a flashable zip for us.
As always, if anything goes wrong I'm not responsible.
Make a full backup first (just to be safe)
1. Download Flashable Stock Kernel
2. Boot into recovery
3. Flash the kernel
4. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
5. Reboot

^This.
I can't make it as a flashable zip because I'm only on my phone. It's just so those who don't want to download the whole factory image can just get it through this.

Can someone test this flashable zip? Not sure if it'll work so do a backup first to be safe.

Flash it but my phone was stuck at the boot logo. Also running cold fusion ROM.
Sent from my Mako Nexus quattro using Tapatalk 2
cold fusion is CM based, that's probably why its not booting. I was on cold fusion and flashed matrix stock based by accident and same thing happened

CM has a modified ram disk, any kernel that flashes a boot.img at this point will probably bork things. If you want to flash a kernel on a CM or CM based ROM make sure it's an "any kernel" format.

Power off and then power on and see if the keyboard posted up. If you have a custom recovery you can try to ADB sideload a Gapps zip in TWRP and that should bring up a keyboard for you.

Oh it's stock. Well I would try a warranty from Amazon. Otherwise you'll need a fastboot cord and factory images.

Nexus 6 and Amazon fire stick

Has anyone had successful sideloading any apps on their firestick with a nexus 6? In terminal it seems the phone lacks adb stuff. Running the ls command shows nothing adb wise.

If you have a nexus device, flash the Nethunter.zip in twrp and you will have a full Linux environment in terminal, including adb, (BTW nethunter is basicly Kali Linux for Nexus devices

Thanks and its cool on all roms? Or is it a rom in itself? Happen to have a link?

It should work on most aosp ROMs, and its device specific, but since you have a nexus 6, its all good, here's the link: https://www.kali.org/kali-linux-nethunter/ , have fun
