1- no problem at all.
2- yes. Flash stock rom with odin.
3- yes.
4- stay away from rom manager, it bricked ace.
one more thing... i see in the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18178563&postcount=13 that the falsh is with the old veriosn recovery.. if i have stock rom i need only to boot in stock rom and update from zip file: recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip . correct?
Questions 1-3 have been answered.
To flash a rom, download it from xda.
It will be a ZIP file.
Go to recovery, do the wipes, install the Rom, gapps if you whish, reboot. First Boot might take a while. No worries.
For detailed instructions see the thred of the Rom of your choice.
Cheers!

You will always have that problem coz the ROMs you flashed requires GB. so go flash GB first before you install CWM and custom ROMs..

it should be 2.3.4 before you installing CWM
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED:
1. YOU NEED TO FLASH YOUR PHONE TO GINGERBREAD 2.3.4
2. AFTER FLASHING STOCK ROM, ROOT IT!
3. INSTALL CLOCK WORK MOD
In this part, it is now the installation of your CUSTOM MADE ROM
1. Wipe Dalvick Cache
2. Wipe Data/Reset
3. Wipe Cache
4. Install Zip from sd card then locate the zip file
5. YOUR GOOD TO GO!
BTW: Always wait for the rom to load, it may take awhile to load if it is installed for the first time
Like If this helped you THANKS

hi
i am on stock rooted ICS rom, with stock recovery and kernel..
I rooted this rom via some temporary cwm recovery which goes away after rebooting..
i rooted via busybox_supersu method via temporary cwm recovery.
Now how can I install new custom rom?
is a permanent cwm recovery necessary? if yes, from where can I download it? Or is it ok to flash abyss kernel via this temporary cwm?
Here's the ultimate root+cwm guide by dr. Ketan.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
Just download the one for your kernel ( the last 3 numbers must match ) and run it. You'll have permanent root+cwm installed. If your kernel is not directly rootable, download and flash any of directly rootable firmwares first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
And then repeat the first step.
To install custom rom like CM9, all you have to do is copy the .zip to your phone, reboot into recovery, install the zip via CWM, wipe/clean cache and reboot.
I flashed CWM via Rom Manager. I want to remove it so I can flash a new CWM and flash eaglesblood rom.
Flash to stock ROM by Smarflash

Not nessecary to remove or smartflash if you are going to install it again. Just upgrade/install it through the cable using .bat (on win), go to rusty`s cwm thread for download. If you want stock recovery, install stock recovery image by paul o brien.
currently stuck on AllianceROM, with TWRP installed flashed the fonts mod and stuck on N7000 logo, tried to install zip, but twrp being just totally useless and unable to let me scroll down the menu properly just swipe down and down and automatically selected a fold. and I'm totally done with this rom and twrp find my way out... do i just flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 from there? and reboot into recovery and flash the rom i want?
Flash a stock GB ROM via PC Odin and root & install CWM on it.(See Dr.Ketan's thread for details).
Then do whatever you want.
Alliance is using safe kernel. Just follow the flash instructions of the new rom OP. That would be, I guess: Do all wipes -> flash rom -> enjoy.

Yeah, but it'll be better if he gets rid of TWRP first lest he do something wrong....

Hi all!
I'm going to flash CWM recovery on Samsung galaxy mini (stock 2.3.4) and I'd like to ask a couple of questions.
I'm going to follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529863
Is it okay?
1. Do I have to root the device before flashing CWM with odin? Phone isn't rooted now, it's completely stock.
2. Can I install ANY custom rom with CWM? eg. CM9 or 10?
3. I want to make sure that if i want to install a custom rom, first I flash CWM with odin, then custom rom with CWM. Do i have to do something else?
I'm asking these questions because I don't want to brick my phone on my first time flashing something.. I want to be sure.

Okay, thanks very much for your help!
if you want to be on stock then root first before flashing CWM as after flashing CWM you may not be able to root your phone.
If you want to flash custom rom then there's no need to root your phone.
Just boot into cwm wipe data
flash rom
again wipe data and then reboot
remember that wiping data is needed before and after the flashing process.
Ok, I'm going to flash CWM tomorrow
Thanks for help!
E: Succesfully installed CWM on my SGM!!
Enjoy and play more with your rom
