This happened to me long ago, but I'm still curious whether I should develop,
One day I've somehow ruined a flashable ported Sense 3.5 zip file then flashed on ACE. Unfortunately it cannot boot even a bit, screen doesn't lit up, can get into emergency download mode but ODIN is stuck at connecting.
So my question is bad boot.img or rom or whatever will hard-brick my ace just like this? OR IS IT THE DIFFERENT PARTITION ALIGNMENT AND MOUNT POINTS?
Please reply, urgent!
Maybe u used the mount points of sense update script
I always use ext4 because sense uses a way other mount point

Nope...gone! sorry bro...I did the samething nothing except a JTAG or service center will work
Cuz the boot.img is corrupt or rom chip is fried so
A JTAG: They replace the software (unbrick) of the PCI or rom chip
Service center : (mine) Replace PCI
Go for service center cuz u get new hardware and could be free depending on warranty

Once i tried a new ics firmware. And because of that my note got bricked(i guess you all know that issue)
I revived Note with emmc. Pit file for bricked phones but after that day my note had some really serious issues like freezing on screen, not booting up some times.
I guess i have bad blocks(stops while scaning on partition scanner).
I dont know how to fix this.
I am sick of restarting Note again and again
Any help???

Try flashing stock GB firmware for your region and then full wipe including internal and external SD card (after backup though), if that too doesn't help and if you are covered under warranty then send it to service center.
I said stock firmware for your region as that can help you in claiming warranty.
No warrenty
Any other way worth considring???

Hi, I had the exact situation like you. You able to work it out ?
If you've repartition the emmc chip there will be damaged sections. Often this means that stock roms will not function very well any more as they utilise a lot of the damaged partitions. One way around is to flash a deodexed or cm based ROM as they take up a hell of a lot less space on the damaged partitions.
If you aren't able to claim warranty, then this is a workaround and effective, if you do have warranty, flash stock gb and claim it.

I want to send it to service center, should I make it at the bricked stage and say I just wipe on stock ICS without knowing anything ? or send it at stock gb ??

If you had previously bricked your phone and got it revived now,and thinking of sending it to SSC,then its better to be on ics and make sure you clear your flash counter

hav u tried getting ur stock firmware on Sammobile.com....make sure u download the correct firmware on ur region and the same release date....make sure u use Odin dats compatible with s5830....i think u dont need to use other options on Odin like Bootloader, Phone and CSC....just select PDA on odin....
i advise using Odin v1.83 or v1.85....
I advice not to use one of those odin versions. 4.38 is meant for ace if I'm not mistaken
The only way to fix this is to bring it to c center.

you shouldn't even have the problem if you actually do read stickies before doing anything. Sigh. well say goodbye to your phone.
@ OP : No problem. Costly but unavoidable. Replace the motherboard or throw your phone to trash.
@ Others : One question people. Suppose if someone happens to have an irreparable hard brick as here & he/she has to pay to replace the motherboard. Can we have a choice as to what new motherboard is to be installed on our device ? eg : I want to have the SGS II motherboard on my ace as a replacement. Whether the motherboard fits or not, this is secondary. Just want to know, do we ever have a choice ?

Nothing's so funny & ya by what I've heard, you do get a different motherboard than ace for sure but I'm unsure of the choosing probability. By the way, don't break your phone daily, even if you do get to choose what motherboard you really want, you'll have to pay there

Hi Khan,
can you please explain your problem in bit detail. Like after disconnecting it from odin are you able to to see any screen on holding down power button?
Because in case if you are able to go to recovery menu, then you can put CWM*.zip file in your sdcard and then flash it, then you can start CWM recovery menu and can flash a complete new ROM (I will suggest apocalypse or Lewa). You don't need any odin or any other app.

Why would u use that - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942957 !!!
Go on CWM, its healthier for our Ace!
It has nothing to do with having a partition or not.
It bricks the phone anyways. Better remove that app, its dangerous if you don't know what functions of it can be used safely.

Mostly the motherboard i think, people reported that they had to get new a motherboard installed in order to unbrick it.
Hmm, that's confused me, I thought it would have broke it system wise. I know how to flash, root, etc, but I'm not exactly sure how they all work, but I thought that flashing just overwrit the system+os. So two questions, when you root/flash does that interact with the hardware in anyway and how?

Rom manager ... flashes new recovery ... with wrong mounting points ... making your phone useless it will be like having the light switch of your kitchen in your bed room and your bed room light switch on your attic ... know what i mean? Nothing will work !! Since the phone will change the mp to points that dont exist on your phone.
Just flash cwm from stock recovery or from odin and you'll be ok

Its beacause of oxidation in usb cable that has on it speaker and power button,33 euros to fix even with root,go fix when u have the money, and avoid water when it rains, and use wifi sharing apps so that usb doesnt brake again.USBcable in p970 is problematic i guess.
I have the same problem , i tried to flash CM10.1 from ICS and my phone bricked . When i try to flash stock rom with smart flash tool the phone is not recognized , when i'm in s/w upgrade mode. do you think is a hardware problem ?
