Help with Cyanoboot - Nook Color General

I'm trying to restore my nook color to stock. When I hold the N key to boot into the Cyanoboot menu, all the SD card options are greyed out. I have my SD card formated with the 1gb clockworkmod file. Any ideas when I can do it boot form the SD card?

The SD options are greyed out because your system is not recognizing your SD card as a bootable SD. That is why it is booting from cyanoboot to begin with (from emmc). Using the 1 GB card from eyeballer should boot with two skulls and ...loading... Try my new CWM bootable SD in my tips thread linked in my signature. I also have a link (in item A12) to a 1.4.3 stock zip that has been modified so it can be flashed with CWM.

[Q] want to install froyo to emmc...

So, I downloaded the nookie-froyo-0.6.8.custom.3.zip file mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883175
I assume the next step is to make that zip file available to clockwork on the nook somehow? Is that correct? How do I do that?
Thanks.
custom.3 ? I see only nookie-froyo-flashable-0.6.8.zip on the op.
Anyway thats what I'm on and its what I finally decided on after a week of ROM jumping. It runs on the internal flash memory. emmc.
Two steps:
1)on your pc download a suitable CWM recovery .img file. Write it to your sd card via a sd card read/writer. I'm using the CWM 3.0.0.5 image. Next copy the above froyo image .zip to the sd card.
2)insert the sd card in your nook and boot from the power off state. It will boot off the SD card into CWR recovery. Use the recovery menu (vol+,vol-, nook n) and install the .zip file from the sd card. Next remove the sd card and reboot.
done.
I used the 4GB sdcard CWR .img file from here, can flash/backup/recover HC and froyo.

When I copy the froyo image to the card where do I place it?
Thanks!

[Q] Unable to mount SD card (CWM 3.0.0.6)

I have CWM 3.0.0.6 on an uSD card, and the Nook boots fine into recovery, but when I swap out the card to remove dual boot, I get an error saying E: can't mount sdcard. Any ideas how to fix?
-Kevin
I've had this issue myself a few times.
Typically you'll want to swap out the SD card the second CWM boots up, and if that doesn't work you may want to try flashing CWM internally instead, or simply add the files to the CWM sd card via your phone or an SD reader.
Awesome - thanks Link. Pulling the card immediately after CWM launched enabled the Nook to recognize the card I quickly swapped in.

Using ONE SD card to flash SD ROM? Possible?

SO basically I want to
1.) burn a CWR SD card.
2.) Put it in the nook and boot into CWR
3.) Take the card out, format it back to fat32
4.) Put the Phiremod 6.3 SD flashable rom.zip on it.
5.) Pop it back into the nook and mount the storage.
6.) Flash Phiremod onto the SD card.
7- Turn nook on and Profit??
Well, I just booted my NC to CWR from SD, then removed the SD and was able to read a second card without any error from CWR.
So I suppose that would work in theory, the only difference would be you are doing it on one single card and not two. Though I don't know how safe it would be.
Yea I took the plunge and tried it.
Although I flashed

and I didn't boot into Phiremod, instead it was nook stock.
Would I first need to flash V6.zip, then flash the 6.2 update.zip?
EDIT* Did not work. Still boots into stock
How about you try this:
[ROM][CM7] Size-agnostic SD Card image and CM7 installer for SD Cards. with updater
I don't know if it works with a Phiremod ROM but it doesn't hurt to try. I used this to install plain CM7 on my Card.

How to remove JUST ClockWork from internal memory?

I have installed CM7 on the SD card and NOT the Nook's internal memory, so if the SD card is taken out I still have my stock Nook ROM.
However, I have installed ClockWorkRecovery through the CM7 ROM (installed in SD Card) and now I would like to remove just CWR, since I cannot receive Nook official ROM update if CWR is installed.
Is there an easy way to do this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
Thanks for the link, but the solution given there does not work.
The problem I am having is because CWR is installed on the Nook internal memory, but CM7 is installed in the SD card.
As of right now, I CANNOT BOOT INTO CWR. When I boot into CM7 (installed in SD card and not Nook's Internal memory) and try to reboot to CWR, the Nook will boot but then just go back to CM7
Did you try shutting the NC off, removing the SD card, then holding the power and 'n' button? I don't know if that will work unless you've got a custom rom...

Nook recovery and SD card...?

I recently purchased a nook hd+, went through leapinlar's tutorial on how to boot into cwm, root, and modify my stock nook with a custum rom(carbon) on a 1gb sd card. I just purchased a 32db sd card and I want to know the process or is there a process to put twrp recovery on my nook and be able to boot into it without having to put the 1gb sd card in every time I want to get into recovery. I've searched some but get more confused the more I look and I don't feel like bricking my nook. Can I also boot into recovery with carbon rom? I've tried by going through the power menu, reboot and by turning off the nook and hitting power and the "n" key and neither will get me into recovery. From what I've read I think I have to put the "ovation-sdcard-twrp-files.zip" file on the 32gb sd card but not sure on the procedure. So if any one can give me a dumb down version of what I have to do to be able to keep my 32gb sd card in the nook at all times and still get into recovery like any other nexus or android phone would do, I would greatly appreciate it.
P.S. I have formatted the 32gb sd card with sdformatter but was unsure if I was supposed to use partition software or the zip file for sd cards larger than 4gb.
Thanks again.......

Never mind, I figured out that I never added the 6028 internal cwm zip and that was my problem, now I can boot into recovery.
