hi I'm using nAa v 13 kernel and gingerevolutionHD rom and after a month I got a wifi error..I am turning it on and it is saying conneting... and no wifi connections are shown undernith..
I had the same prob with Gingerxperia rom .. any solution except restore or full wipe and at the worst case to keep my games saves... heeeelp
Use SEUS or flashtool to update back to 2.1
What about mine?
I connected but no internet. But on laptop everything is perfect!
There must be some settings in router or IP but I don't know how to fix that
If could someone help me!
Nothing else you can do.
NOTHING.
Unless you flashed the wrong kernel e.g. minicm7 I flashed gdx alfs and I got wifi error. I flashed alfs cm7 and it got fixed =D
But its not a problem just back up your apps using titanium backup.
Or if you want the easiest way to back up your apps download astro file manager
then backup your apps through there its really easy
if you lack storage issues 2 soloutions:
You can limit the quantity of app backing up then put it in usb mode then store it safely on your desktop once you full wipe you can just put it back on your SD CARD
or 2 you could (Or atleast what I did) Take screenshots of all your programs. Like if you slide through page to page just screenshot put it in your desktop then once u full wipe u will know what app is missing etc if they are small files.
Other than that just back it up and full wipe no prob. . . . if you full wipe your sd card does not face anything purely on your android system.
Hit thanks if I helped
ftwisawsome; I know what apps I have!!!
with these ways would I have my saves after restoring and backing up again??
e.g.drag raicing I most care about that

Once you back it up using astro file manager a file will appear in your SD root 'backups' you click on it you see all your backed up files. And yes you have your saves stored in your sd card. Once you full wipe and wifi working get on google store go to app store download astro file manager or es file explorer or something then RE install the apps you backed up Have fun.
If your just worried about apps thats all you need.
I think this is cm problem...

Ok this is my second attempt to get an answer for the issues I'm experiencing.
Hopefully someone out there knows whats up and can give me a real solution.
I will pay the person $40US via PayPal if you can help me solve the issues listed below.
Here we go...
I can flash any rom or kernal successfully, however once booted I can not restore TIBU or install anything from market. When I click ok on download at market is does nothing, just allows me to repeatedly click on download icon. But never begins download. The second issue is if I try to restore backups using TIBU, they never install, just sit there as if they are installing, but never do. Also if I try to install any apps sitting on my ext-sd, they do the same as TIBU, just sit there showing they are installing, but never do.
Having said all that! If I flash to stock JF6, everything works fine, no issues whatsoever.
Now I have repeated this process at least a dozen times with no changes. I have flashed just about every custom rom with the exact same results. But again, flashing back to stock, zero issues.
Please do not suggest I run market fix, as this does not explain my other issues with TIBU or installing apps from ext-sd.
Others have suggested using android id changer after I have installed custom rom, the issue there is I can never install it from market after I have flashed custom rom because of the above issues.
Please help, this is driving me crazy and thanks in advance to those that know what's going on and can direct me to a solution.
NOTE: Yes I do a Master Clear & Clean Dalvik cache after every flash !! After flashing to stock, I can root and modify settings file under dbdata to allow third party apps with no issues. All issues are directly related to custom roms only!

Maybe an obvious question: Have you tried clearing the data and cache for the market.

Market
Clear data
Clear cache
I had a similar problem (apps would download and fail to install no matter how many times I downloaded) I also only had my problem with custom ROMs.

Obligatory flame about not reading the post.
Please try the below steps as they are so it would be easy to debug.
1. Backup ur data from internal SD to PC
2. Use one click to come to stock (don't root or install any stuff here, except enabling USB debugging)
3. Connect to computer, and mount drives
4. Quick format the internal SD on windows (if u r on windows; telling this cos I use windows)
5. Copy the ROM in my signature (dilligaf's 7.x) onto ur SD card
6. Reboot into recovery and install the ROM (do not use TiBu or do anything else at this point)
7. Go to settings and add ur market linked gmail account
Try connecting to market now n see if that works.
So what's the best way to back up apps/contacts for the Note?
Thanks in advance, guys.
May I add a question regarding backup issue,
How to backup game score & level as well?
For contacts I personally use google to sync and for apps I use Titanium Backup Pro but for that you have to be rooted.
Sent from my Galaxy Note using tapatalk
google for contacts
mybackup root for apps and data - but like titanium backup you need root, tehre are other options available for mybackup that dont need root in the market
Backup your contacts by going into your contacts app, click 'menu' and select export, then export to sd card. Backs up all your contacts

Sync with google isnt fast.. Its instant.. You dont even have to think about it..
for the apps,i always use titanium backup!
in pro version you can also program a backup for new apps downloaded since the last backup and it's fully programmable (either days or hours of the day)

Hey!! a question, with titanium backup, the back up its saved in the SD Card right?? and can i copy wherever it backs up to a PC to have you now a Back up of a Back up ??
May be is a stupid question, i want havent buy it yet!! Thanks!!!
Short answer: Yes.
For backing ur apps u can use my phone explorer. It can backup everything on ur phone to pc includings messages, call logs, settings, apps, etc. For this to work u have to install my phone explorer in ur windows computer and my phone explorer phone client in ur phone available in android market. Then run both simultaneously and you can connect ur phone to pc either via bluetooth, wifi or usb. Also no need to root ur phone as well.

Simple way to backup apps & their settings?
Hi guys, so is there a simple, easy way to backup apps & all of their settings without having to root the phone? I've been able to backup every other phone I've owned, and I am baffled why it's so hard with the Note.

Not sure about that but there are a lot of third party apps for backing up the games data. But its your safest option without rooting.
copy files to your computer
im finding all the information above very useful....
i have used this app before with my HTC desire and i absoultley love it....
i recently just got the S3 and wanting to transfer all my messages etc to the S3 from the Desire... i have done the back up from the HTC..
but im trying to connect the S3 via USB and having issues it tells me i need to set the S3 to "connect only" but for the USB modes im only finding two options neither one being "connect only"
how do i make the S3 connect via USB...
also im not as savy on some of this, but how do and whats is rooting the phone ???????
cheers for your help much appreciated
You may find a guide 'How to keep device data up to date' useful, find it from my signature.
Trying to restore titanium backup of downloaded apps and settings from another device. Apps restore properly but none of the settings do (game scores, etc.)
I have never had a problem restoring to other devices. Is there anything I have to do to fix this?
Dmore rom, semaphore kernel
Had the same problem at one point, tried fixing it but didn't know what to do and nothing seemed to make any difference. And then suddenly one day it was working again.
The only difference i can think of is I updated titanium backup. try that.
If that doesn't work try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (copy the titanium backup folder on your sd card onto your computer just in case it gets deleted, don't think it should.)
Other than that google the problem (Titanium backup wont restore apps - google search), there are ton of similar situations, there's probably an answer out there already that'll work for you

I'm on version 5 so that should be fine. and thanks for the link, although I did not find why data is not being restored.
Strange thing is that data from ONE app was restored but not others. After seeing that I remade the backup but the same thing happened. I wonder if its where the i9000 stores the data of backups is the issue
No other ideas? No one has had this happen?
I've been looking for a solution for two nights, this hasn't happened to anyone?

Go into options of titanium and make sure you have backup external data to always. I run a restore this morning because I was switching ROMs and everything worked fine.

Restore manually. When you go to the folder with all the backups, there should be a bunch of .tar and other files. Just install the apks on the other phone and manually restore the data in the .tars

I see the tars, and in each tar there is a data folder, another data folder inside, and then the .com folders. what do i restore and where do I put it?
for example, in the AKnotepad .com folder there are these folders:
app_sslcache
databases
shared_prefs
some apps also have a files folder inside the .com
I can just place them using ES file browser with root browsing method on the phone, just am not sure where.
When O had a look into my backups, that had data folders in them. Go on your old phone and see where the files in data folders go. Most go to /data/data. I recommend Root Explorer.

Any ideas?

Use some Root Browser to check your system folder to see if you have available storage space. Sometime the old files are not deleted and they fill up the storage space. If this is the case you need to format the system folder before you can install anything.
I had the same problem too, after I uninstalled N.O.V.A. 3 and can't install it back. But other apps has no problem of installing.
SD maid from Playstore might help here^_^.
Contrary to the name, it clears cache and left over data and logs from the phone internal and external memory.

If you have another Android device, you can force the app back on your phone.
1) Install app on other device
2) Make Titanium Backup of app on other device and send it to your phone
3) Open Titanium Backup on phone and go into preferences; change restore location to external storage
4) Restore app backup from other device
5) After restoring app, go into Settings -> Applications and move the app from SD to phone
6) Now app is installed on phone just as if you installed it normally and you can change your Titanium Backup restore location back to default

Try to clear cache and data from the store.
Easy, uninstall the app first, then go /data, search the app name, like "titanium" or the package name, sth like com.xxxxxx.xxx, should have that name.odex or any other, delete it, but make sure its correct name of coz, after u deleted the file in /data, u can install it again
But yea, like the above user say, it usually appear in crack app, if so, do the purchase mate

You must have some leftover file for previous installation, serch and delete of that will allow to install again.
I had this problem the other day trying to install apps with titanium backup and the play store, both were getting this error. I fixed it the same way by going into the data/app folder and deleteing the .odex files in there. I had two in my folder, one was 'com.kermidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex' and i cant remember what the other one was. I think when an app is uninstalled or modified, it sometimes leaves a .odex residue file which causes the error.
Here is a simple SOLUTION :-
Install lucky patcher now press the menu key
Choose troubleshooting now click on removes fixes and backup now u can install the application

Hi guys. I am running stock rooted xxlrg with the CF root kernel. Everything was suh-weet, and i was really happy. Using apex, running at 240dpi. I put my phone on to charge last night and this morning i cannot get to any of my apps apart from the stock sammy ones and a couple of others like dead space, glwg and thankfully xda. I can see both my internal and external sd cards and i can use the internet and change settings and stuff.
I cant get root explorer or play store or google maps, and i really dont know what to do.
I cant wipe as i dont want to risk bricking, and i dont want to have to go back to gb then upgrade, then reinstall my apps then setup my homescreens again as thats a real ballache.
I thought you fine people can maybe give me some advice.

I tried reboot, wipe dalvik, and battery pull for 10 minutes. Cant change the dpi as i have lost su access at the moment. I am teally stumped. Maybe can change dpi with adb but never used it before.
Could it be anything to do with space available in my system/app folder or anything like that...? I am wracking my brain to try and work it out

Just calm down bob okay?
The process below (thanks to Matius, works in changing DPI but you need to have root for this one)
Use a file explorer app with root privileges like Root Explorer and navigate to /system/buil.prop, long-press on it and choose open in text editor
Search for a line that reads:
ro.sf.lcd_density=320 (or 240 in your case)
Change that value back to 320, don't go too low or you might end up with a bootloop
John
Cheers!
Thanks for the replies, i cant change my dpi like that as i cannot get root explorer working as i cannot access my apps or install new apps. I am rooted and root explorer is installed on my phone, but there is a random problem which says that the apps are not installed including su and most of the others. Im gonna go and have a look via adb to edit my build prop and see if i can find anything else to help.
Meanwhile if anyone else has any experience with this or has any bright ideas please let me know.
Cheers

Get into download mode and flash notecore kernel to gain root access. then use any file explorer with root permissions to change dpi.
