I have recently came across some idiots in these forums. So i would like to point out to some new people here. Look out for these idiots, be aware of these idiots, and if you have a little tiny problem with your device dont you dare ask for help, as you will be called a noob and told to put your device back to stock by these idiots. You will not see people asking for help here. So if thats what your after, then dont bother.

I should of shouldnt i. As that where these idiots get developed.
On a serious note though, is one not allowed to seek advice without getting called a noob and made to look an idiot? The attitude some of the memvers have is just plane bad. And do not deserve the help they will get when they will need it, (wich they will as everyone does sooner or later)

The upgrading happens when dalvik cache is cleared. Sounds like there was an issue with dalvik. So yeah. Wiping/stock was probably your best bet it wiping/reflash didn't work. It could also have been a bad kernel flash.
Edit:
Oh and youre backwards... you get called a noob and then you get told to go back to stock.

Yes everyone who has a bad experience on a forum should post a new thread about that bad experience and then everyone who has a bad experience in that thread starts a new thread and so on. Its the circle of forum life.

I'm just guessing that this thread won't be deleted. Mostly because it completely adheres to the forum rules and is an incredibly helpful asset to the community.
You should post more like this. Help those other n00bs out.
/sarcasm
Listen, whether you had a real problem or not is irrelevant. There will always be people that just like pissing on your cookies. If you hadn't experienced people like that in the past I want to congratulate you for finally leaving your house or connecting to the internet for the first time...those people are everywhere. The correct way to deal with them is to ignore them and then realize that everyone else in the world has dealt with them in the past. The incorrect way is to call attention to it and then cry about it in a very public way. Take this advice: Leave it alone and never bring it up again. It just makes you look pathetic and self-entitled to make an entire forum topic about it so you can "tell the world". The world already knows...I'm just sorry you didn't.
Edit : Forget it. The OP has issues.

No need for an apology. Just read threads and the posts. Most, if not all the information you need can be found on the threads. Yes, some are hundreds and hundreds of pages but reading and searching will give you great results. I'm in no way an expert. I hope to learn and love this stuff. I have learned tons on here and you can never stop learning. Don't take things personal either.

Hey fellow XDAers,
Firstly let me start off by saying thank you for taking the time to open this thread. I'm an XDAer from Trinidad and Tobago. I'm not going to start a bun-fight here, especially not with the OP. I have actually watched the film and it was good.
I still think that I was correct in my original posting though. I presume that there are prizes up for collection at the end of the SSSFF, beyond just getting one of the awards? I fail to see the difference between that and these;-
I Need Your Votes
[VOTE] Please help my wife win this contest
Help my friends win $10,000
If the generic rule within OT is that it is OK to ask people to vote and help you to win then I take my original comment back, but there seem to be distinct double-standards at play here.

only 1 of those three threads was formally closed. the other two were abandoned.
So, it's kind of shakey...i gather the sense that if I post a similar thread, it may get some attention and garner itself an OK lifespan, but someone with 60 posts may start a similar thread and it may not go over so well. I'm not sure why that is, but the mods make their decisions because they are trusted to do so.
is it hypocritical? Absolutely, but I don't argue it. it never hurts to try.

Why do you have to be rude about it? Why can't you just avoid clicking on this thread rather than going out of your way to comment your displeasure? Not every single thread here has to pander to your own desires.
OP has a legit question. Yes, it has been answered before, but firmware updates can always change recommendations so it is more wise than not to ask about a device's current state rather than rely on old threads.

Totally agree with you. Having spent many years on this forum, there appears to be a growing trend towards the " another thread like this?" Or the age old classic "use the search feature before posting" yada yada yawn yawn. I think it normally stems from those that end up getting a bit too big for their boots. It really is so simple, don't like thread ignore, it will then disappear off the bottom of the screen. It's a shame that those with such skill don't get this concept, but instead resort to generally being a bit obnoxious.
Now to answer the OP in a sensible manner...
Yes I think the GG is worth it if you like your gadgets. It really is most definitely for me not something you really need. It is however something you really want. It is on the one hand the most unnecessary gadget of all time, but at the same time the most fabulous tech toy you could imagine. I love mine and I'm really glad I bought it.
If you can afford it then do it- put it down to a Christmas extravagance!!!

Has the attempts to unlock, patch Loki, and/or build a custom recovery for the US variants just halted. I mean last weekend some were talking as if they should have custom recovery working by the end of the weekend. I've offered to test or do anything to help with the process. I've gotten no response. No files to test no request to help or do anything. I don't know a lot about building custom recoveries or patching Loki or bootloaders. I'm more of a ROM builder/porter. And themer. My experience and know how lacks in those areas but I follow instructions very well and not afraid to test or try anything. But there doesn't seem to be any advancements with the US variants. Why? Where are we stuck at? And who is actually building or working on the Loki or custom recovery? I'm not asking for someone to tell me they know someone who is working on it. Or they know that "they" are very close. Who ever is working on it please let some of us eager crack flashers know how we can help. I am not near as talented as some of the people I've seen in this forum at this stuff and not claiming to be but with all of us helping maybe we can make some headway.
Sent from my LG-D959 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The thing is one guy is the one saying they're close. No actual dev has said they're close. Also, it seems this gotroot guy is the only one the devs talk to and apparently is the only one who can test it since they're waiting for him to get a phone back.... It all seems fishy to me. Neither shellnut or DJ have need mentioned anything also I spend a lot of time on gflex irc channel lately and have yet to see the flex even mentioned.
I quite trying to get flashing methods without a recovery because I thought they were closer, but I'm thinking gotroot is feeding us bs do in going to start looking back into it.

To whom it may concern I was the one who tested for the g pro and the g.. I have stated that Loki is working. I have tested builds of cwm already. My ls995 is already running cwm. They will rls it when it's ready. They are making it user friendly so people will not brick there phone and start crying... the fact is everyone wants something for nothing. And the devs working on this have lives beyond your need of cwm. So calm down or build it yourself...
Its sad that you people are this way very sad.. I will not be testing anything else due to these comments. Everyone can thank these people

@Gotroot you've been here long enough to know that when only 1 person is claiming something and he's not even directly involved 99% of the time it's false. Neither dev had mentioned anything, only you, and they both post on the g2 forum. That adds up to suspicious.
Second, don't test anything. I've seen your profile. You haven't made a ROM or mod so you'll be the only one with a recovery, but nothing to use it for. Getting a recovery to everyone benefits you as well.
Now to your ridiculous comment if wanting something for nothing. My last ROM had 2300 downloads and I got 1 donation. That's with me making several custom items per requests. I even offered to make a custom theme for a guy here and when he asked how much to donate told him nothing. Now you claim to know a free unlock method and instead of posting a how to offer to sell it.... Seriously?)

Ungrateful because I said I don't believe you. Are you slow? By the way posting a picture of a file in your computer named cwm proves nothing. Seriously ill gladly eat my words and beg for forgiveness if you can post proof.... Like a picture of it running on your flex like you claim it is.

Well there we go. That's the first proof anyone has provided. So whether it's working or not at least he's working on it. That was all I was asking for, gotroot said it's running on his phone but showed nothing. That's a big claim to not prove anything.
Like I said though. I was wrong. I'm glad to see a dev working in this. @Gotroot I'm truly sorry I doubted you. You know how people will come on here and make false claims so I felt your story was suspicious.... But I was wrong.

Fair enough, but if you're going to come in saying how it's working and you're already running it, then some proof isn't a crazy request. That's a huge step and claim and being the only one like gotroot and that he said last weekend and not a sound that doesn't seem like it's crazy to wasn't too see some proof.
By the way another hobby? I just want a recovery so I can test my ROM I've been building. I guess I could just stop and we could have a recovery with nothing to flash.
As for a new hobby me and gotroot were talking and someone showed proof. So I did exactly what I said and admitted I was wrong. What I'm trying to figure out is why you have anything to say after the fact and what you contribute besides pointless threads about speed tests?
And again asking for proof is not being inpatient so why do you idiots keep saying to be patient. It's being skeptical and not believing everything read on the internet, especially when only 1 person is saying it. However as shown gotroot seems I be telling the truth so again I am sorry to him for doubting him.

Oh trust me i understand and yea my threads maybe useless but i dont come on here speculating and being suspicious about anything because at the end of the day what am i going resolve proving weather he's lying or not better yet what would you have done if he was lying or not besides proving that o wow he's a fake a fraud and ruin his so call rep on xda what else would you have gain?
Nothing really but going out your own way on doing your own thing which hey if you don't or didn't believe him and think there's something suspicious going on then you should have just pm the 2 devs that are working on it "that you also had suspicious on just because they haven't decided to post or say any news on their progress" to give you what they have for you to test.
I know this is XDA and most times there needs to be proof shown if they as in them 3 that are actually working on it has their reasons so be it and im glad you stand up to your words and apologizing it takes a real man for that to happen but if there's nothing that we could do other then wait then so be it if the devs are only letting gotroot test things out for them then let it be and when its ready to be release then they will release trust me im waiting on this too since im a flashaholic.

I'll be honest I mainly wanted proof to know if I needed to continue trying to figure out the 2nd init I was researching as an option. It was going to take me a lot if time because I was going to be learning from scratch. I started to have suspicion and that's why I said it, I've always been the type to say what I think and to admit when I'm wrong (which apparently I am here).
Two things though. If one of the devs said they were working on it I wouldn't have even thought to question them, but when someone says they're using it and they're the only one mentioning it seemed funny. Second, now that proof was shown (whether needed or not) let's move on, wait patiently and enjoy this phone. I've said what I had to and now proved wrong apologized (and pmed gotroot so it's more personal then here).
On a side note I'd like to say sorry to everyone here. If you look through my old posts I'm usually much more political in my responses. I've been having a lot of stress lately and went to far in my replies.

Thanks for nothing but I don't think anything you said or I said was helpful

That is the problem. You want to do things that you don't fully understand. Anytime you try to flash something there is a chance it will brick a device, no matter how many others haven't had that problem.
Read up on it and if you feel comfortable then do it.
And it is "know not no"

That's what i meant. Several experienced users hard bricked their phones. You no what I mean?
know verb (used with object), knew, known, know·ing.
1. to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty: I know the situation fully.
2. to have established or fixed in the mind or memory: to know a poem by heart; Do you know the way to the park from here?
3. to be cognizant or aware of: I know it.
4. be acquainted with (a thing, place, person, etc.), as by sight, experience, or report: to know the mayor.
5. to understand from experience or attainment (usually followed by how before an infinitive): to know how to make gingerbread.
no
1. (a negative used to express dissent, denial, or refusal, as in response to a question or request)
2. (used to emphasize or introduce a negative statement): Not a single person came to the party, no, not a one.
3. not in any degree or manner; not at all (used with a comparative): He is no better.
4. not a (used before an adjective to convey the opposite of the adjective's meaning): His recovery was no small miracle.

First go here http://www.grammar-monster.com/easily_confused/than_then.htm THEN go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740247
and read the entire thread for your own sake. Open the app then click install CWM. If it was successful then you should have a custom recovery.

How about this... since you seem to be unable to read and search and learn for yourself, just box up your phone, send it to someone like Gotroot, Koush, or any of the other devs and ask them to do it for you...
OR.... you could bop over to the development section and freaking READ FOR YOURSELF and find out what is available.....

Well I hit my 8 thanks for the day, but thank you. I couldn't remember that name for the life of me...guess it's time to watch it on my free netflix. Just another reason the Flex was a great buy.
