As this platform continues to skyrocket in popularity it will continue to be the target of viruses and malware. Fortunately Unix has built in permissions and now Apple will have to have patch Tuesday like Microsoft.

Two possibilities here:
You don't get much.
You are married.
Which is it?
Macs are just as susceptible to viruses as anything else. Always have been. They just aren't targeted as much. Apple even sells an antivirus, they just keep it hush hush.
While windows is Targeted much much more, you can be much better defended if you know what you are doing.
The next time someone tells you, "Macs don't get viruses", ask them, "Then why does Apple sell an antivirus?"

Seriously though, thank you to the MODs for all their hard work! (Love your signature by the way)
I cant guess the last time I got a virus on Windows, maybe 1997/8?, and have never even thought about it on my MBP. Just ran a few terminal commands and still clean as a whistle. I use my Mac for all my Android stuff, dont have to worry about drivers...
Apple/Google bashing needs to stop. I love all my Google products and all my Apple products...who gives a damn who the manufacturer is, besides idiots...
I have recently came across some idiots in these forums. So i would like to point out to some new people here. Look out for these idiots, be aware of these idiots, and if you have a little tiny problem with your device dont you dare ask for help, as you will be called a noob and told to put your device back to stock by these idiots. You will not see people asking for help here. So if thats what your after, then dont bother.

The upgrading happens when dalvik cache is cleared. Sounds like there was an issue with dalvik. So yeah. Wiping/stock was probably your best bet it wiping/reflash didn't work. It could also have been a bad kernel flash.

Yes everyone who has a bad experience on a forum should post a new thread about that bad experience and then everyone who has a bad experience in that thread starts a new thread and so on. Its the circle of forum life.

I'm just guessing that this thread won't be deleted. Mostly because it completely adheres to the forum rules and is an incredibly helpful asset to the community.
You should post more like this. Help those other n00bs out.

Listen, whether you had a real problem or not is irrelevant. There will always be people that just like pissing on your cookies. If you hadn't experienced people like that in the past I want to congratulate you for finally leaving your house or connecting to the internet for the first time...those people are everywhere. The correct way to deal with them is to ignore them and then realize that everyone else in the world has dealt with them in the past. The incorrect way is to call attention to it and then cry about it in a very public way. Take this advice: Leave it alone and never bring it up again. It just makes you look pathetic and self-entitled to make an entire forum topic about it so you can "tell the world". The world already knows...I'm just sorry you didn't.

He's not "confused on the acronyms" so much as you just made up an acronym that nobody else in the world has ever used to refer to this device. It's one word and a number -- you don't need to make it into an acronym, and even if you did, N4 would make more sense (and is what people have been actually using).

On a serious note, how long can we really count on Google to keep these devices officially supported and updated? I assume as long as the hardware can support the new OS....
Look at the Nexus S, only lasted 1 year, granted it only had a single core 1ghz processor and 512mb ram.
Google will be supporting this device for a while. It's one of the most popular if not the most popular device in the Nexus line. We will see updates for a long time I don't understand why people always want to know when. Be happy with the os version your on, and if you don't like it root, unlock and flash what you want. There are awesome devs here that will always improve this device allowing people to be able to run it how they want.

That is the problem. You want to do things that you don't fully understand. Anytime you try to flash something there is a chance it will brick a device, no matter how many others haven't had that problem.
Read up on it and if you feel comfortable then do it.
And it is "know not no"

That's what i meant. Several experienced users hard bricked their phones. You no what I mean?
know verb (used with object), knew, known, know·ing.
1. to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty: I know the situation fully.
2. to have established or fixed in the mind or memory: to know a poem by heart; Do you know the way to the park from here?
3. to be cognizant or aware of: I know it.
4. be acquainted with (a thing, place, person, etc.), as by sight, experience, or report: to know the mayor.
5. to understand from experience or attainment (usually followed by how before an infinitive): to know how to make gingerbread.
no
1. (a negative used to express dissent, denial, or refusal, as in response to a question or request)
2. (used to emphasize or introduce a negative statement): Not a single person came to the party, no, not a one.
3. not in any degree or manner; not at all (used with a comparative): He is no better.
4. not a (used before an adjective to convey the opposite of the adjective's meaning): His recovery was no small miracle.
