Google translated from the italian LG mobile facebook page:
Software Version: V10d

Below the list of improvements:
*
Reduced the continuous refocus during the recording of a video
Increased the residence time of the focal point of using an autofocus camera manual
Improved some translations in Italian
Eliminated the occasional flickering in camera feature
Calibrating the headphones

Safe to assume it's the same we're all getting in this update?

I'm assuming you bought the EU version or imported though right? As UK version isnt out yet afaik.
Am getting the update here in the UK on my phone from Germany though. (I would imagine its down to the phone's country of origin, not the country you are in at the time)

do not know what additional security there is to add?
it looks quite secure now, for Google to get their AndroidOS acknowledge as secure for companies, if it can be out for almost 2 months and no one hacked the release.
do we have another PS3 lookalike OS? we need a secure key to boot our phone into developer mode , LOL

to keep this ontopic, no those previous security holes are all closed already in v10a,b and now even more in v. 10d.
so hackers need to come up with something new, or LG need to leak a developer v08c edition so those that want to play with it opened, can actually open it, although no more updates for us.

Thats just the CPU working, like any modern device.
Got to remember there is a quad core sat under the hood. The good thing is that they have situated the CPU in the top of the phone rather than the bottom like it was on my HTC Sensation, means you dont get a hot hand, and the CPU is able to radiate heat better.

I'll buy it for sure right now.... but is this even possible without root?
Sent from my HTC Evo
Universally like our app, no, its not possible without root.
Some manufacturers have used the same general backend for their own screenshot functionality, including samsung. But generally it all depends on the quality of the adb implementation.
We use our own method to read the video buffer, but its a brute force solution (which is why we need root).
Guys, im about to roll out a big update for SER with nice new features. Please be ready to test it at your leasure!

If you ever release a solution that doesn't require me to tamper with my device and possibly void the warranty let me know. I wish the market filtered root only apps out.
Right... ill be sure to remember this post you made.
In any case - you can unvoid your warranty by unrooting at any time. I would have thought you would know this, having registered in 2009.
Also, there are no non-root screenshot apps.

Well it's been a few days and no response..
News regarding the coming firmware update for the O2X.
LG Denmark confirms that the update is ready by next week or next week again - that is week 23 or 24.
- "The update is imminent, and are ready in one to two weeks, " says LG's Danish mobile manager Morten Aagaard to Mobilsiden.dk.
He explains that the update is currently being tested on all operators' networks in Denmark to ensure that it works one hundred percent - the same testing is currently also being performed in other European countries. When the update is a joint European release it must be released simultaneously in all countries.
"Therefore it is hard to say when exactly the update comes. It's fair enough that people get angry, but the update must of course also just be working, "says Morten Aagaard.

Soruce (english, translated): http://translate.google.com/transla...ing-til-lg-optimus-2x-udskudt-igen,lid.15776/

well. im not having any reboots...
what i want is gingerbread
I think we can believe them, that they try... it can't be easy to identify, and cure such a random thing... we should let them test it... no one would be satisfied if the just released a patch which won't help be patient people, LG knows he has to care, unless people won't buy their future stuff... they'll fix our problems
They will try it..and when they will see the first reboot or second then its time...!Update is ready reboots is working fine!let the update be released in the whole world... LOL
lets hope not to face something like that again for some fellas here with reboots problems...!
Here's a thought for LG, network operator's testing will only go so far to "break" the firmware.
IMHO, send the test firmware to the top 20 most chronic "battery pullers" on this forum. If they can all run it for a 2 weeks with no problems, it would certainly be a big improvement in stability.
Good news. If without any solution, probably, we need to change to use another mobile.

Half an hour ago I spotted this post LG Mobile Singapore posted on FB, I haven't tried it yet, but it's definitely believable (as we could even bring it to the stores for the update).
I'll try it when I can, not really able to do it at the moment.
Any Singaporeans tried it yet? Is it available in other countries? Is it working well (i.e. does it still have heating up and BSOD issues like in Froyo)? Is the kernel updated? Is anybody able to dump it for the benefit of developers if it's not out for other regions yet?
Note: I'll answer the above questions myself if I can do it before anybody else does it, however till then, may there be kind souls to help! =D
Edit: Sorry, it's just a little leak from some itchy fingers. It's not available as of now.

In Germany, LG gives this possibility to all customers, if you ask them. They do it because they don't know, when GB will be released for the 2X.
But it's only for Germany, I don't know, if LG makes this in other countries, too. Maybe you should ask LG.
I'm waiting for the reply from LG and in a few days, I'll send my 2X to LG, if nothing goes wrong.

They won't even give us a brand new device as a replacement here! So, I don't see why they would give us a BRAND NEW AND MORE EXPENSIVE device as a replacement! :/

Strange they would change your phone due to not having Gingerbread, as the replacement also doesn't have Gingerbread.
If CM builds were further along, I'd probably consider it.
But the O3D has nearly the same hardware than the Nexus Prime, so it'll be one of the first CM9 smartphones.

Yeah I remember the sextape leaks. I've had the SII, SIII, and both S4s (single and tri-band). So I remember flashing several leaked builds on my SIII particularly. It's painfully obvious that hardly anybody has or cares about the tri-band S4 around here. The single band still seems to get some support, but I guess there just aren't that many people that have the tri-band version. Plus a lot of people have moved on to the S5, which I'm going to do myself soon. I figure this will probably be the last update the S4 gets, and NG2 was probably the last update for the single band as well.

"Biggest" change is International WiFi calling. Also HD Voice Icon - which I don't need. I can tell when I'm using HD Voice because it sounds TERRIBLE. Sounds like it's using the lowest possible bit-rate and the worst possible compression that they can still call audible (NOT intelligible) speech. I can't believe how horrible it sounds. I can't believe they are making such a big deal about downgrading the voice quality. I guess they think if they advertise enough about how great it is we won't notice how TERRIBLE it actually is. I literally have a hard time understanding what people are saying when HD voice is active. It sounds like they have a pillow over their microphone. It's stupendously bad. Call quality used to be one of Sprint's few strengths. It makes me wonder if anybody in charge has a clue. I even called and got someone in tech support to ask about it and before I could even finish my question he said "it sounds pretty bad doesn't it?" VOLTE can't come soon enough... And they'll probably find a way to make that sound terrible too.
I know in THEORY HD Voice should sound better, so maybe it's just Sprint's implementation of it that's lacking. And maybe it's just bad where I live. I haven't had any experience with it anywhere else. But my experience with it where I live has been really bad.
I'm not the only one who's not thrilled about "HD Voice":

Umm, no.....
I'm not unrooting.
If I can find the zip, I'll grab it. But I don't need the latest update.
@Cooljb did you get the update yet? Curious to find out who between us gets it first

No I haven't gotten it yet either. I kind of understand why google takes so long to push their updates out, and then I kind of don't understand it either. When windows has updates, they are available to everyone immediately. When Apple updates iOs, it's available to everyone immediately. If they can do it, I wonder why google doesn't/can't do the same. I mean google is a big company, surely they can make their servers robust enough to handle the load of people downloading updates if Microsoft and Apple can. I know part of it is we are on a wireless network, but Samsung could at least make them available in Kies right away. That would take that traffic off of the wireless network. And again, Samsung surely should have the resources to handle the load of people downloading updates. It's so frustrating that they take their sweet time pushing out Android updates. It's the same with their own products. I have several Nexus tablets in my family, and it takes forever for them to get updates too.
Anyway, I will let you know when/if I finally get the update.
