Hi!
My friend has a Galaxy mini. When I send him a file via Bluetooth his phone asks whether it should accept the file or not. And there's a "Remember this" tick, so it doesn't ask the question all the time.
Now, I'm wondering if someone could look for it and tell me how Samsung implemented this function in their software.
Thanks!
i think u need to pair device

I tried to open the "note" function while on a call in order to take down a phone # and it wouldnt open
I tried opening the "notes" application separately, still nothing
The only way it brings up the notes is with the "voice record" function and even then if I click on "new" note it ignores the command (I can record voice though)
Can someone try it to determine if its something I did or an official bug?

Did you install one of the cooked ROMs? If so then there is a bug but a fix has been posted. I am too lazy to search for you but browse the thread on Helmi's BigStorage release.

Yes, I did. Initiate send from the software on phone & I got this error.
“Unable to transfer Contacts. Make sure that the Bluetooth device is set to receive contacts”.

I have a Pioneer AvidD3 so I'm not sure exactly how hoda's system works... but with my system, i had to make sure it was in "phonebook transfer mode" before I could send my contcts; otherwise I got the same error.
hope this helps!

I was able to import my entire Tilt phonebook into the Navi system on my MDX. From there, I can transfer any entry to the Handsfree link or just place the call from the Navi system.

Are your entries on your sim card (just the phone number) or in the main phonebook memory (can you see the whole contact info including address and multiple phone numbers)? The reason I ask is the impression I had is the contacts sent over could only be the simple kind with just the name and 1 number.
I hope you have the numbers in main phonebook memory as I would love to get this working in my TL.
Also, did you use the jetware software? If so, would you mind letting us know in detail what you did as I'm still unsucessful.
Doesn't SAPsettings do this? I have it on my vario III and the phonebook downloads to my car (VW bluetooth kit) OK.

SAP settings would only enable you to access phonebook enterys that are on the sim card. I want to be able to get the actual outlook contacts. Just wondering if that is possible.
Oh, well I have no contacts on my SIM and my car display shows all my outlook contacts. Maybe it's accessing them through a different route. It just worked out of the box for me.
I have a Verizon XV6800 and a Acura TL and I have been trying to figure this out also. I have tried using the Jetware program but didnt get any where with it.
Please, if you figure this out PM me or shot me a email at [email protected] and let me know how you did it.
Thanks
Bud

Hi
Did you use the jetware program? Did you some how set the nav on your MDX in some kind of "phonebook transfer mode"? If so what did you do on the Acura Nav to do this?
Thanks

I tried again today both with and without the Jetware bluetooth extension. Tried multiple settings... no luck. Everytime I press phonebook import, it says the currently linked phone does not support this function. Any one with any suggestions?
(I have the AT&T Tilt and a 2007 Acura TL with Nav)
Do you have SAPSettings in settings->system?
If not, maybe find a cab for it and give it a go. Sounds like you've hit a brick wall anyway.
Aside from that maybe it's a difference at the car end. Mine is a SEAT (don't think they're sold in the US but think VW) and works out of the box.

hey guys i did was wondering if this would be possible. Is there any way to answer intercom or page someone over windows mobile device? I need program like that so bad and i cant find nothing close. Thanks for your time.
Can you elaborate a little .... "answer intercom or page someone"????
What are you trying to do?
I guess you want it to work as a walkie-talkie?

at&t's version of this is the Push to Talk. Costs extra.
Other than that I suppose you could try and setup Skype on your phone, but that's not really walky-talk type stuff. But it avoids voice charges.
may not be what you're after but i was playing with parlingo yesterday specifically the voice chat and when i sent a "voice note" to my buddy it played the message without him doing anything. now we already had a chat session opened (didn't try without it being started)
It's possible

If you've got a bluetooth-enabled intercom, it's possible. You could do it with a wire as well.
As for paging someone, you could text them.
If you want a walkie-talkie style device, there's a program out there (I forget it's name, but found it using Google) that lets you do this using the WiFi connection on your phone. Works okay even with full-duplex voice communications.
If you give us some more information on what you want to achieve, I'm sure we'll be able to help more.

4Talk is the one that I was referring to earlier. Thanks for pointing me back at it!
It'll work over infrastructure or ad-hoc wifi networks, so with a bit of configuration you can get it to work just like a walkie-talkie.
I am willing to pay someone if they can some how hack the G1's bluetooth or create some sort of hack to enable Bluetooth file transfer.
As well as a hack that u can go look at their files if u send them some file over bluetooth. U can do this with several other phones such as Sony Ericson etc.

Uh Yea.
This is almost certainly something that will have to come from Google. I'm not saying it's not possible...but it's a pretty big framework for one or two application developers to try and invent themselves. It would touch on so much functionality of the core OS.

Establish network over bluetooth, run ftp server on droid or on your computer and client on other, then you can transfer files over bluetooth.
Why would you want to though? Bluetooth is SLOW. Much better just to wifi/ftp.

thanks, but i can't find it in the market..
tried searching for "bluetooth", "bluetooth fileshare" and also "fileshare" and find nothing

scan the barcode with barcode scanner. App found with search tag "bluex" sans quotes.
Great!! Finally an APP for bluetooth file transfer!!
Anyone got an idea if it may become available for NON-rooted HTC magic phones??
I don't really fancy rooting becuase it will void my warranty
Thanks
I just got my HTC Magic. I cant BELIEVE that it doesnt support obex!!! Very very dissapointed
BTW i cant find the bluetooth file app on the market.. i even tried scanning the 2D barcode. But when entering the url in browser it still says "not found" in mark..
I need this app badly. A phone without bluetooth file receive/send ability is useless!!

Could it have something to do with your network operator? Where in the world are you? It may be worth turning on ' allow unknown sources' to see if that helps.
Version 1.0.3 can SEND files without root acces recieving still needs root.
Tested on my non-rooted magic and it works we're getting there!
Fantastic!! Can't wait until we don't have to root!!
We are getting closer!! , Jut not fast enough!! lool
Anyone else think it would be better if it was free
Bluetooth is so painfully slow. I haven't received my Magic yet, so I didn't try this, it's a theory.
If you usually send files back and forth from one or two computers you could just setup a FTP server. It's really easy with the FileZilla server. You could then use Wi-fi to send files. Maybe there is a good ftp client for Android, I'm not sure.
Of course if you need to send between phones all the time you're out of luck for the time being.

Root
Hello.
I´m new in Android and in this forum.
I´ve bought "Bluex" (BlueTooth Fileshare) and I can receive photos but I cant send any file.
Where can I find a tutorial about how to be root in my HTC Magic to perform send an image through bluetooth?
I think that there should be a topic about that but I don´t find it.
thx.
