Google Nexus S & Jelly Bean and Widgetsoid2.x 3.4.1 - Nexus S Themes and Apps

I have a Nexus S running Jelly Bean. When it ran ICS there were no problems with Widgetsoid2x 3.4.1. But now with Jelly Bean, after installing Widgetsoid and rebooting. I press and hold on the home screen and I get to choice of wallpapers to select from...not like the old dialogue box that also allowed shortcuts and widgets to be added.
How can I add a widgetsoid widget to my Jelly Bean home screen?
Thanks

You access them through the widget tab in the app launcher.

Thanks. But when you go into apps, and select widgetsoid, you are told to go to the home screen and press and hold. When one does that with Jelly Bean, you get to pick a wallpaper...NOT a widget like I could with ICS.
If that's what you mean by app launcher.
Thanks for the suggestion anyways.

So you want to add a widgetsoid widget to your screen, so you go into your app drawer, then slide over to the widgets...then hold down one of those widgetsoid widgets until your regular screen pops up and put the widgetsoid on the homescreen and once you do that it takes you back to the widgetsoid editor where you can make your widget how you like and when you are done you select apply and there it is wherever you put it.
That's the only way I can explain it.

Best Widgets?

I just got my G tab and have installed vegan. I am liking it a lot, but I cannot find widgets that look good on the homescreen. I am using launcher pro and want to know what you guys are using to make the homescreens look awesome.
THANKS!
MixZing has a nice 4x4 music widget. Also, another user here recommended Jorte as a replacement for the stock calendar--it works very well and I'm now using that. Finally, I also loaded up Android Photo Widget (Free); it displays and cycles through my photos--the free version limits you to 10 photos; paid version more. Nice widget.
Oh, I'm also using Typoclock which can be found here on XDA, along with a companion widget called TxWthr which is very basic; I link that widget to the WeatherBug app, which is awesome.
thanks for the reply. just got the typo clock.
anyone else have suggestions?
Where did you snag the photo widget? I have been looking for one that will allow me to select a specific gallery.
Another trick to make it look much nicer is to install ADW Launcher then go into the ADW settings and set it to the Max number of columns and rows.
This can also be accomplished with LauncherPro, so it is whichever launcher that you prefer.

I like the launcher pro plus friends widget that combines Facebook and twitter. The calendar widget in lp+ is cool too.
Audio Manager Pro has a good widget for quickly switching sound profiles that you create. Widgetsoid (free) can be used to roll your own toggle bar for pretty much anything on the device.
I am still working on my pages, but here is what seems to work best for me at this time. I also have the post-it notes widget, not yet on my screens. I try to keep my screens separated by media, utility, and gaming, once I load more games for the kids, they will get their own screen.

Yeah that Button Savior looks awesome! Stock TNT works okay with ADW launcher replacing the home screens. I'm just using that setup until Cyanogen is a little more stable for the tab.

Lock screen shortcuts disappeared after ICS update

I recently upgraded to ICS with the official OTA upgrade. My lock screen shortcuts have disappeared! I went to settings ---> personalize ---> display and checked off show launch bar shortcuts on lock screen, but they don't show up. I'm using Go Launcher EX, would that cause this? Is there a way to use a third party launcher and still be able to have shortcuts on the lock screen?
the lockscreen shortcuts under ICS on sense 3.6 are the same shortcuts at the bottom of the screen on the sense launcher, if you use another launcher, you also disable the shortcuts on the lockscreen, only way to get launcher icons on the lockscreen now is with a custom lockscreen like widget locker

Yes, an alternate launcher would disable your shortcuts. The following is a pic of my lockscreen. I am not using an alternate launcher, I'm using pure Sense 3.6.

On my Sensation XE I'm using Go Launcher, but lockscreen icons work fine, I just used Sense launcher once to change the shortcuts.
To get the icons, go into the sense launcher to get the lockscreen icons. Then you can go back to Go.

I posted a thread about this right after the official RUU came out. The apps that are in your dock are your lock screen shortcuts.

[Q] A bunch of questions

Hi guys
I just got my first Android phone and I'm exploring everything, but I have some question about some stuff I encountered.
A) When I change the volume in the menu's, I change the volume of the ringtone.
Is it possible to just change the "general" volume like when you can do in an app?
B) Will the new 4.2.2 update have the option to have some toggles (wifi/bluetooth/location/...) in the notificationcenter.
If no, is it possible in another way?
C) When I lock my phone when the camera app is open and I the device is locked. When I press the powerbutton the camera app shows up from itself. That's without my sliding the "key icon" on the lockscreen.
Is this normal: yes/no?
D) Is it possible to change the raster layout from the homescreens from 4 icons (width) to something more? (Maybe 5 icons on 1 row).
E) What app should I use to watch movies (downloaded/converted)?
I can't find a stock app for that and I don't find what I seek in the Playstore
F) If I make a shortcut from a folder with apps to my home screen and I add some apps in the main menu (same folder), why doesn't my folder on the home screen get updated?
I guess that's it for the moment.
It would be awesome if you would answer some questions (not all!).
Thanks, really!
Matt
to answer
b) I believe so yes, they certainly are there on ARHD 11.0...you could aways try Power Toggles from the Play store...I found it really useful when I ran stock 4.1.2
c) yes, that's normal...HTC call it Tourist Mode or something like that
A) Nope, just change it in Settings or in an app like you say
B) Yes, it does. Using it now
C) Yeah that's so you can snap fast photos
D) Yeah, there is a mod for this (root only)
E) MX Player is pretty good
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it.
And would you know how the tweak is called to change the raster size?

Gesture Launcher for my Gear

installed Gesture shortcuts on my Gear which provides an easy way to launch apps by just drawing on the screen. I use to quickly bring up most commonly used apps like Easy Tether, BlueGPS, S-Voice etc..or make a quick phone call to someone. Now idon't have to scroll through the app drawer.

This app is amazing. Features predefined gesture paths (up, left, right etc.) and custom ones. It's one of my main reasons to root an Android device, just rocks:
