Hi Everyone,
The folder /etc/system/permissions/ is read-only. I want to add the SIP application to dialer but I get Read-Only file. How can I change that?
Thanks

Thanks guys.
No free apps for this?
The device is rooted and I can do su. Wondering why I can't use something simple as "su" to change permissions to the folder?
Thanks
For Ref: Free app, "Root Broswer Lite" does the job.

for another reference:
su
chmod +w /etc/system/permissions
+x adds write permission to the folder.

Why you don't use root explorer?
Just use Root Explorer to find the email.apk and delete it.
Check root permissions in SuperUser app. I had the same problem and I found out the app had no root permissions in the SuperUser app. Apps like that have a red circle on the right.
Thanks wery much.

Here's a working Deodexed Browser.apk from the ThreeUK build.
the sim-free xZ come with Chrome as default,
some people prefer the normal android browser (I Like both, so use this and chrome beta )
it does have some features that chrome doesn't such as full-screen and quick-controls.
to install : You will need ROOT !
on an unbranded rom, you will need to remove
system/app/chrome.apk
system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk
Possibly remove
data/app/Chrome apk
data/data/com.android.browser.provider
otherwise you could get issues with conflicting package names.
then push this to system/app and chmod to 644
Appears you need chromebookmarksyncadaptor as well to get synced bookmarks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32558502
cheers r1c4rd0 for that
Lost with last step then I think "push this to system/app an chmod to 644 ?"
edit: got it, but still not working (rw-r-r)

one easy way is with titanium backup
First you guys need to be rooted.
Then just move the apk you want from /data/app/ to /system/app/ using any root file explorers.
Set the permissions to rw-r-r- and voila, you now have your system app

Because it's in the system folder. And please, use your imagination and try yourself. We are not here to spoon-feed each and every detail. You have already been told everything you need to know to complete the task. Now please use your brain and start trying. And if you cannot figure it out you probably should not be messing with system apps and permissions anyway.

Thanks for your advice
Took this apk and necessary files out of the tmobile update 5.1.1.
(Root Browser)
Place files :system/priv-apps
Set correct permissions and rename the one already in that directory
This works on At&t Galaxy s6 not tested on other variants
*Confirmed working on SPRINT*
Pictures located on POST#19
Not responsible if you prick your phone or anything.
*Must be rooted*
*Must be on a custom rom
*If I helped in any way a simple click on the THANKS button is sufficient*

"Set correct permissions and rename the one already in that directory "
I have a folder named " SmartManager_PROVIDER " in the system/priv-app folder
Is that the one I rename to disable it?
Then unzip and paste the folder and contents attached to this thread in the system/priv-app folder ?
And what are the correct permissions?
I'm rooted AT&T OE2 using root explorer.

Yes just rename the file you don't necessarily have to freeze as it does nothing its already disabled by at&t.
Yes everything goes in the system/priv-apps folder...
Set permissions to folders as below... the apk and other files in the arm folder are the same permissions.
Reset...
