Hello fellow xda-ers.
Got my Xperia Z and loving everything about it except for 1 thing.
I got an iMac and ofcourse all of my music is in iTunes. Now the issue I have..
Alot of my electronic music albums (trance) are gapless on my iPhone, apple tv and iMac. But when listen to them on the Xperia Z, there is a half second gap between songs, which is very annoying for mixed-trance cd's (for example Above & Beyond)
I've looked in the settings of the walkman app, but couldn't find a setting.
Does anyone else have this problem? And should I try another music app? I'm using the stock walkman app from Sony.
Update:
I just tried Poweramp and Winamp. All of my gapless albums are gapless! Shame, cause I like the clean interface of the Sony Walkman app.
First of all, can someone confirm whether it will play an album as a flac file via cue.
Secondly once connected to car's bluetooth playing the above flac, would it display on the car dash the particular song title rather than the name of the whole flac file?
Thirdly, what is the bluetooth car phone performance, does it connect to the car automatically once it's been paired originally. recent calls, phonebook options?
FLAC title's still don't seem to be completely supported, you'll most likely just get the file names.
I recommend you to convert your stuff to 400Kbps (VBR) AAC's. The difference in sound quality should not be audible at all on the Xperia Z (I didn't) and if you do the conversion with Foobar you don't lose any metadata.
I haven't verified it but I'm pretty sure single FLAC+CUE doesn't work.

Is there anyone who can actually confirm this?
Also what about the second, third question in the OP?
Just tried, no cue support in Walkman app. Can't help with car/Bluetooth questions, not using it.

Thanks.
Would it play the flac file at all, even without cue support?
Yes no problem with that, FLAC is supported.

Its been a while.... But did someone here try playing FLACC files via DLNA?
I always get that 'could not play file' while MP3 work fine.
Using BubbleUPNP also works fine.

I have just got the Xperia z1 after having a iPhone 5. All my music is organised through itunes as i have apple tv as well. I was wondering if someone can tell me if their is a desktop program that will sync my music and music videos to my phone. I have tried double twist which is excellent but for some reason where i have a folder that is songs and music videos mixed it doesnt sync the music videos, is their a program that will sync the both in one folder.

Might want to look at Sony's PC Companion software! It seems to have stuff to transfer and sync music across different platforms!
i have been transfaring music from my PC to my Xperia Z1 and iam having an issue with some music on the walkman app displaying "cannot play track" ...
all my music (MP3 files) have all came from the same source and as far as i can tell they are all MP3s
i have tried using another music app (rocket player i think) and it doesnt even pickup that the "cannot play track" files are there...

You will just have to transfer the files again, if worse comes to worse you may have to transfer everything off your card, format it in phone and transfer the files back.
Hi guys,
I love the new Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, but I must be missing something, because I cannot do audio recording and music playback at the same time (using the voice recorder small app). When I press on the record button, the background music app stops, so does youtube videos, or movies apps, etc. My previous phone was the Xperia TL (the old James Bond one) can record audio at the same time with any background music playing, even if I play over bluetooth in the car. Anyone know why this happens? Are there settings anywhere that cause this error? I want to record voice and play background at the same time. I really hope this is not a default function because it seems like a ridiculous step-back. T_T. I really want to sing to my songs... ^_^
Emma,
