You can use a working jig to reset it to 0. Or traingle away

If u flash custom rom via odin then it appears. Bt it will not appear on stock roms..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium App
Using PC-Odin to install a stock Firmware in no case will open the counter. It is a samsung utility that checks the md5 checksum for verified signatures. So it is absolutely safe to use PC-Odin to flash a stock firmware.
As above..
AS long as you flash STOCK ROMS via Odin then you're good...
hello.
i have a note with sweet rom ics 4.0.4.
i downloaded the last version of cm9 and i want to flash it from the recovery
its possible to do this without any problems?
thanks.
First flash Hydracore then you are good to go
Root following here
And use mobile odin to flash Hydracore
Reminder: you can not do any kind of wipe/flashing roms within stock kernel or you may brick your device

Having superuser doesn't mean you can flash anything from stock kernel and doesn't mean you have cwm.....
If you have root flash Hydracore with mobile odin then you can flash cm9

you can tell me how can i flash it in the most easy way?any instructions?
1- First download PC Odin.
2- Then download Hydracore Kernel tar file [not zip file].
3- Download Triangle Away and put it on your sd card.
4- Then flash the Hydracore tar file by PC Odin.
You will get rooted + Bussybox + Custom CWM but you will have annoying triangle to get rid of it install Triangle Away and run it and reset binary counter.
5- Press Volum up + Home button + Power button similtaneously and keep holding till CWM recovery menu appear from which you can install any custom ROM you want.

Do not encourage people to flash kernels with pc odin because then they will have to either get a jig or use triangle away.. And triangle away its a dangerous procedure..
In dr. Ketans tools thread its linked the easier way to root Wich makes you able to install mobile odin and the flash the kernel with it with no triangle

ok,and what about the tringle away he told me before.i have to do something about it ?or just flash the kernel with odin.
there are 2 odins
1. pc odin; if u flash the kernel with pc odin u will get yellow triangle and then u will have to use triangle away.
2. mobile odin; if u flash it with mobile Odin u will not get yellow triangle
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
ok.so can you give me link to the mobile version please ?
if you have yellow triangle in the starting booting of your phone, then your warranty is gone.. and up to my knowledge there is no easier way to get rid of it without triangle away apk file or jig.. Yes THIS IS A DANGEROUS OPERATION AND COULD POTENTIALLY BRICK YOUR DEVICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. A USB JIG IS PREFERRED IF YOU HAVE A WORKING ONE.
For me if you don't have the yellow triangle on the startup, then go for Philz-CWM kernel; it is safe, patched to disable superbrick bug with stock kernel and can be flashed by stock recovery mode without losing your warranty (no yellow triangle)

the superuser su that you have is it only downloaded from google play or did you follow rooting procedure to have it??
If you just download it from google play, then it is not functioning; you need to go through rooting procedure then get mobile odin
After flashing ad Abyss Kernel 4.2 from my sd Card, then I reboot the phone, after that it stocks in samsung logo.
I'm not sure if my steps were correct 100%. And I did not backup also.
What to do?
Try to reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache
Here what I did:
1- Entered root mode
2- install zip from sd card
3- apply/sdcad/update.zip
then the problem began

What firmware were you running? Take into consideration that abyss kernel is gingerbread. If you were running an ICS ROM then that is why is not booting. If that is your case, find hydracore kernel (flashable zip version) and flash it in CWM.

whats the point? nobody here talking about Skype
Took me almost two days to figure this out, cannot post in development forum, so here it is:
Problem:
"old rooting files" are not working with newer ICS stock rom, tried with all the here for Tab 8.9 existing guides.
Solution:
Took the root file from the (almost similar) Tab 10.1 for ICS from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807219 which has a link to this file:
http://www.shabbypenguin.com/users/...alaxytab10.1/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip
Installed it with cwm recovery 5.5.0.8 (install zip file from sdcard)
and it finally worked on the 8.9 running 4.0.4 ics stock (UK/European Version)!
Combined with the a1 1.7.3 overclocking kernel, the tab now works like a charm
overclocked with app "voltage control" to 1400 Mhz.
edit: this is for model p7300/p7310 (tegra 2 versions) only
Thanks for your efforts.

Perhaps you should use another root tool. I used a busybox.zip-file.. Just flash it the same way; via CWM (install zip from sd-card)
The file is in the attachments
And if this doesn't work either, you might wanna update your CWM version first, before you flash the root tool. I have it attached as well. Updating CMW is done the same way as flashing a root tool, so: launch CMW 5 and install the CMW6.0.0.8.zip from sd-card.
Here you go!

Are these for P7300 with 4.0.4?
is there anyone with p7310 tegra 2 successly rooted with method above? Please share information and step thx
You can try with Superoneclick2.3.3 - should work fine.
Or you can install CWM first with Odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218
And then copy root.original.zip over to
SD-card. Turn off device. Go into recovery mode with power on+volume down (don't choose download mode)
and flash root.original there.
are you sure superoneclick are proven to work? Because a failed root attempt using superoneclick usually make tablet slow and need to hard reset
Have no idea. If in doubt flash cwm with odin and then root.

Is this working ? Is there another way to root SGH i957 running ICS ?
Thank you
Hi guys, I am looking for some help with this. I have tried the superoneclick way and the program hangs and does not complete. I have also tried the other way, using the odin flashable CWM 5.5.0.4, but when I install it and boot into recovery, the option screen scrools so fast that I cannot see what I am selecting in order to load the root file.
Can anyone tell me if this is a known issue with this version of CWM? Does anyone know of another odin flashable version of CWM that I could try?
Thanks in advance!

Maybe it's odin. I've always used 1.85 but others have had luck with ver 3. Try to reflash cwm with 1.85. And make sure cwm is for the p7310. To root I've always flashed super su-busy box thru recovery.

Tried again with odin 1.85 and it worked a treat, thanks for the help!
Hi guys,
I'm not new to doing anything with odin and galaxy s2, s3 phones. But.. I'll be selling my friend's Galaxy S3 MINI, but he rooted his phone and wants to get the warranty back.. So I came on the scene I did everything what was in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2150822 . With Triangle away, everything worked just fine, but with the stock_recovery.tar.md5 I have some troubles. I flashed it via Odin, but the custom binary counter jumped on +1 again, but in the topic he said, that it shouldn't raise the counter...
I reset the counter via Triangle away again and wanted to flash in the firmware from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159660
But before I proceeded, I stopped myself and wrote this thread.. Because I have fear, that when I will flash this official firmware, the counter will raise up again(even thought, that it shouldn't, I think it will - like with the stock_recovery) .
So help me please ?
Thank you,
Paul
