All PRO Apps you should pay and own if you're into custom firmware:
Titanium Backup (should be first)
Root Explorer
Apex Launcher
SwiftKey3 (personally Swype is superior, and built into OEM Roms).
SystemTuner
ChainFire3D (must have for HD Game support)
BetterBatteryStats
PowerAmp
Catch! (a great widget, notepad, website cache, sound recorder etc App. Its now Free!)
XDA App/Tapatalk (support your forums!)
Tasker (I personally don't need/use it)
SpiritFM (for some reason this FM radio works for many AOSP ROMs without FM function fixed in the kernel, and I'm not talking just NOTE, it works for many Motorola and HTC phones too!)
SIXAXIS App (works like a horse!)
Ntfs Mounter (now its Free!)
Many kernels come with Superuser or SuperSU, so you don't really need it.
ROM Manager (CWM) isn't compatible for some devices/custom recoveries.
SystemTunerPRO is complete, you don't need VoltageControl, or SetCPU, or RomToolbox (also great app).
Mobile Odin PRO works only for Samsung, and the PC Odin works flawlessly, so I don't see the incentive.
VooDoo Sound/Louder only works for limited devices, personally I don't need it.
Sketchbook PRO... refunded. Its so overrated!
I suggest ezpdf reader: very quick, with annotations, s-pen aware, voice reader, column mode, also makes memos!
Carefully crafted on my Galaxy Note, for your eyes only
Mine paid are
App2SD
Absolute Systems Root tools
Titanium Backup
RU unistaller
Set CPU
Rom Manager
AutoKiller pro
Advanced Task Killer
Super user elite
Root Checker
Busy Box
Permission denied
Moble odin
Auto Starts
Super Su
Auto run Manager
Triangle away
Root explorer
smart tools
Volume + volume boost
system panel / task manager
Smart time out
Apex launcher
AppZorter
Rom tool box
Better Battery stats
Aquirium LWP
Thunder Strorm LWP
PS: I buy just to encourage developers.
I don't want to put my credit card details into Google services.
Not that I'm cheap, I'm just afraid that one day SkyNet or a malicious ware, or just an idiot who uses my phone... won't drain my account.
I support developers through PayPal donation. 100% funds, no 30% cut to go to Google.
They're happy to actually email you the pro/full App, which can be updated via Play Store.
Here are a few tipps:
- Total recall note, well working call recorder
- Pro HDR Camera, the name says it all
- Paper Camera, turns photos into a comic and some other nice effects
- Autoruns, stopps autostart programs
- Notification Toggle, lets you place shortcuts in the notification area
- Delayed Lockscreen, makes the screen lock kick in after a chosen time span
- Intelliscreen, stopps your screen from turning off when certain apps are running (or delay the turning off)
- Profile Scheduler, profile management
- Smart Keyboard
Sent from my Galaxy Note running ICS
I forgot:
- tegrak, lets you overclock/ undervolt even if the kernek does not support it natively
- system tuner pro, nice tuning app
- winamp
- ultimate rotate, let's you lock the screen in the desired position, even rotates touchwiz, app dependant settings
I will post again if I remember some more.

Using launcher pro instead of touch wiz
Just wondering if there is a way to replace touchwiz with launcher pro and ensure that touchwiz isn't using memory? When I user launcher pro as the default tw still uses memory and makes my phone run even slower. An example of the speed difference is in neocore I usually get 55.4 fps but with launcher pro running I only get 52 fps Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Omg. 3fps slower. Noooooo. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Your not going to notice a difference of 3fps. Your just being paranoid.
You are making a wrong assumption there.. Firstly, that represents a 6% slowdown only.. Barely anything. Secondly, how do you know it's because Touchwiz is running. Isn't it possible that Launcherpro uses more resources than Touchwiz?
Short of installing one of the new roms without touchwiz no. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
touchwiz is not using any memory when you set LauncherPro as default you can easily verify that when you run any Task killer program that shows hidden active apps like SystemPanel, download Home Switcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765081 and make LauncherPRO default
Point in using task killer?
Question given, i still use Advanced task killer, but I see not much else people do. Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
There is NO point using a task killer on Android, as it will only load the needed/wanted stuff back into memory and thus using even more battery than NOT killing the task.
thanks for the heads up, good to know.
what about ram manager apps (like RAM Manager Pro)? I have f**ked my phone a few times with ram tweaking so I'm skeptic with these and don't really wanna test until I'm clearly sure.
I used to use ram tweaker programs but now just use spica123's hp mod or v8 superscript. Just searck xda for them. Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk 2
Using v6 its pretty cool. Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
Generally it is discouraged to use any kind of task killler on gingerbread because it messes with the built-in memory manager. If by any chance you are using froyo or earlier version of android, then it is ok. As for the v6 supercharger, I'm using it too.
oops I meant V6, Just wanted more power
Just as stevvie said, you will kill the apps for a few seconds, but they will just reload again. It kills your battery. Also, I've noticed that sometimes apps that weren't even running before the killing launch after the killing (i.e. you kill 10 apps, 12 apps launch a couple of seconds later). Most importantly, your widgets can get messed up, unless you exclude the widget app in ATM.
Best camera app
Hi fellow XDA'ers... So, I am running Anidroid 0.8 and was wondering is there a way of getting touchwiz camera app or is there a better camera app around? I'm not too pleased with the camera, photos seem a bit naff at times... or is this in general?... I've tried control shot but was far too complex for my liking of taking a few photos every day of my girlfriend and our children. Thanks for any help. Sent from my GT-N7000 running AniDroid 0.8 (4.0.4)
Fotor definitly, best ui, best edition capabities... I tested a few apps but this one is the best so far, for me at least Enviado desde mi GT-N7000 usando Tapatalk 2

What rom do you use, and why?
So, what rom do guys and girls use on our beloved 4x, and why do you use it? Also mention what kernel you use, and why Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
No replys?...
Cm (02/07) + Optimus Prime V1.9. I use cm because it's (IMO) the best way to enjoy the android experience. Also because all the mods are compatible with cm. The reason i use this kernel is because of the performance/battery life. Cheers
Stock v20a Euro with stock kernel I deleted some applications that come preinstaled and now everything is fine.Using stock because i like LG UI 3 and because i didnt yet installed CWM If anuyone can recomend guild how to instal CWM (best version for our phone) please do so P.S. mine 20a Euro is unlocked and rooted.
Zaiben ROM and eternity project kernel, best performance and battery life, first time that I don't need to lower the graphics of real racing 3 to ir run lag free, also first time that I run butterly smooth mc4 and 10 hours sleeping with only 8% drop Enviado desde mi LG-P880 usando Tapatalk 4 Beta

Click to collapse well, I used to enjoy playing some Tegra games on it, but I just hope there's something to smoothen the performance and enhance the battery life as it is now still very disappointing. I'm currently running V20A rooted still with locked bootloader ( I believe ). I have frozen several LG apps (if not all), and the battery life is still disappointing.
IceColdLG-P880_IceColdJelly_3.6_Final_HOX[PORT]by_SnXo. Very fast, stable, long batery life.I thing is the best rom so far.

Wow -- would you mind sharing that trick? This is a really useful thread indeed, as one can not only learn which ROMs are available but also how stable/battery-saving etc. they are. What I'm still missing are the links to the ROMs sources. Would be great if you could include them! Thanks

Yepp, that sounds more like it, and fully logical. Should have thought myself that there are some external chargers available also in the atomics sector; leaks are that common nowadays #D Honestly: Yeah, I already thought you meant "10 min", but I couldn't resist the joke
[Q] Any one have any performance tips for the Mi Note Pro
Hi All, I am just putting this out there to see if anyone is doing anything special to improve the performance or battery life for the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. I did see somewhere that someone was using the SKYNET_GENYSIS mod which I have tried to install but it does not seem to be working for me. I have posted the problem in the SKYNET_GENYSIS thread. Is anyone using some form of Kernel Tuner that works well with the SD810? Please let me know your thoughts. Regards,
You can check for "Performance mode" enabling, via Mi Verification app. Or you can modify CPU and GPU minimum speed via Kernel Adiutor for example. Sent from my MI NOTE Pro using XDA-Developers mobile app
