and please tell me if there is any new os for my phone that give me a better performance
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english
Try doing a factory reset first.
If you still keep getting it then it might be worth taking it to a sammy service centre.
If ur phone is rooted or hv cwm,ota wont work..
U shud hv stock rom for completing ota updte
U hv to first flash stock rom via odin from samfirmware..
Then ota will work..
Or u can get latest firmware directly from samfirmware and flash it directly..

i have tried to unroot my device, and it didn't work
and after the factory reset, the phone has been unrooted automatically,
i have search for the new firmware, and its size is 144mb, and the internal memory of my phone is 190 mb approx. and the free space 100mb, is it a problem???? (off-course i have a sd card of 4 gb, but i don't know how to use it as an internal memory)

that 144 mb goes to the rom..
internal memory wouldnot be a issue for installing rom..
the max vslues are

int mem-190mb
u can confidently install new firmware..
do it from sammobile.com..

Sorry about this question, but i didn't instal a firmware before,
do i have to put the zip file in the sd card and start the phone using( volume+ and home and the power button), and then install it like the way i did (the root)?????
and after the firmware installation, if i root my device again, i will have the same problem when there is a new update?????
when i tried to instal the new firmware, i had this message:
Finding update package ...
opening update package ...
E: Can't open /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(bad)
installation aborted.
what happened??

That was sure to happen. How can any firmware update be only 6.9mb!!! I think the download was aborted.. :sly:
I would recommend you to delete the firmware file from your computer and download it again. The file is generally stored under your user profile/appdata and is generally hidden. This is considering you are running windows seven.
If you have a hard time finding the file, download a firmware from sammobile and flash it via odin.

Hello everyone,
I've got an Australian vodafone GT-i9000 which i bought that was having issues boot looping on power on. Sometimes it can boot loop for 20 seconds (looping at the Samsung screen, not the S screen) while others it can boot loop for 20 minutes before powering on.
I've tried flashing with ODIN using the 512 pit to numerous stock versions, most recently this : GT_I9000_XWJVP_XXJVQ_VAUJV6_Sbl (stock vodafone AU rom). The flash goes fine, however if I select format with the 512 PIT I can get the following message after the reboot:
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblkop2
Even if this message doesn't come up on flash, The phone keeps boot looping. Once started, the phone seems to work fine detecting internal & SD memory. I want a more permanent fix however, because if I was planning on giving it to a friend and 'leaving the phone boot looping until it starts' is probably too hard for them to understand. Also I'm not sure if there's an issue with the internalSD which is causing the problem, and if it is, it could cause further issues on more harder use.
Anyone had this sort of issue? The phone was flashed with ICS when the guy sent it to me, he said the bootloops started after he upgraded to ICS. I've got a 32gb SD- tried removing before flash and having it in while flash with no success (have seen a guide for installing on external SD for the i9000m- however it looks like you can only do this if the media device has completely failed). It seems to boot every time using a bootloader kernal (cant remember the name, ICE something from memory) into the recovery software- so maybe a busted sector on the internal SD?
Ideas anyone?
Cheers,
Dylan
Maybe try going into cwm wipe internal same card memory, remove external as card, put into download mode and flash with Odin using pit and repetition checked, if you get the devblock error flash this is PDA without repetition checked and without pit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984140

Bit of a problem with that matey, Kies says the phone does not support firmware updates through KEIS and the rom i've been flashing with KEIS is the full standard rom from Vodafone- includes CSC, PDA and phone files. from memory the PDA file contains the standard bootloader yeah?
Look at this
Take a Firmware with the red SBL ending, thats with bootloader, flash it in download mode via odin and the problem should and must be solved through this !!
btw: i recommend to flash a JW5 version.. please tell us if this worked !

My phone have inside custom rom 4.0.4 (KingDdroidV8).

And connect to different usb port from last time, close Kies, firewall and anti virus before flashing.

well obv i did.......it aint my fiarst time either flashin......but now its got a soft brick thats for sure......and i cant charge my mob too....since the mob aint even bein detected
But you can still get into download mode and Odin sees it right?
Ok, Lets assume yes. Now download This stock ICS kernel and flash with PC Odin. (put it in the PDA box)
---------- Post added at 01:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 PM ----------
If the kernel flash was successful, you should now be able to boot into stock ICS recovery
Next step. Download This Philz kernel and get it onto your Ext SD card somehow (Old phone?, camera? card reader?..) and put it back into your Note.
Boot into stock recovery "apply update from external storage", select Philz kernel and flash it.
How's things going so far?
Any way if it works boot back into recovery (now Philz) go to mount and storage, make sure data, cache and system are un-mounted and FORMAT them. You should now be able to flash a ROM, either by PC Odin or flashing a zip.Rom through CWM.:fingers-crossed:
don't worry your phone is charging you have to use charger instead of usb....
& for flashing you have repeat whole process or flash recovery firmware using kies as I have also encountered this on galaxy s duos last week.... or you should another rom perhaps it ay work

Hi Guyz...
I was on Android 4.0.4 Stock Indian Rom & stock kernel
I found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953847
and i went to it.. than i downloaded that rom..
now it was time to install it..
I went to recovery mode than i selected CWM.zip and flashed it..
than in CWM I wiped Data
but i think data was not wiped ! phone automatically turned on... and was hanged on Samsung logo.. i thought it has been done
now i went to apply zip from sd card.. i applied the zip provided by eybee1970
Done.. it installed.. now it was showing Samsung's New Logo on startup..
i was happy coz i thought now m on JB !
than I waited 10 minutes but phone was hanged on samsung's logo
i thought maybe it is installation problem..
I again went to recovery mode.. now my recovery mode was changed ! i was directly into CWMR
and i seen kernel also changed ! it was Philz's Kernel...
I thought now its perfect for my Note.. Now i can install JB
i again flashed that Zip file..
But again phone was hanged on Samsung Logo !
i waited 30 minutes...
than i again went to recovery mode and I wiped Data again..
than again i Flashed that zip file
Now phone was Showing -
Galaxy Note GTN7000 Only
again i flashed zip for 4th time.. now i thought it may be a problem of that zip ! it may never install...
Now i changed my mood and connected my note with pc and opened odin and tried to install - N7000DDLR6_N7000ODDLR2_N7000DDLR1
but it was also not getting installed ! Odin gaved error - Fail !
i tried it 2 times.. now nothing is happening...
My Note Not opening
now it is showing error -
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again..
What Can I Do Now ? Please Help Friends
and sorry coz i do not read the whole post and do a direct installations do not prepare and care for instructions..
plz help guyz plz
First off all always read related thread carefully before trying new rom on your Note. There are lots of warning in this forum not to use recovery mode when you are on stock ICS rom.
Anyway try to install stock gingerbread rom on your note using pc odin. It is better to use Dr. Ketan`s step by step guide to root your note and installing new rom. I hope you are able to go to download mode. BEST OF LUCK

I guess u bricked ur note..if odin fails, then try claiming warranty from Samsung, if your phone is under warranty..
If not, try jig, JTAG, PIT file methods..*after reading & understanding completely & thoroughly*

1. Download a safe kernel *.tar for flashing from pc odin
