I am not sure how this happened but,I am unable to answer incoming phone calls. No matter what button I press, and I have answering mode enabled, also having answering key enabled or not I still can't answer. I don't know if this other glitch will help as a clue to figure this out or not but, the ringertone is stuck on default and rings as one long continuous ring with no break. If I go to settings and try to change the ringtones or notification tones, I'm unable to do that either. When I am selecting from the incoming calls section of sound in settings, in either phone or notification ringtones, when I choose between android or zedge the phone just freezes or sends me back to main settings screen. When it freezes, it really freezes. I have to pull the battery because the power button does nothing.
I'm about to flash a new ROM (not sure which yet), and was wondering if this problem will go away, or will it be persistent and plague me in the new ROM? Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to help me with this one. I'm trying to do things without having to ask for help, but sometimes being a noob has its limitations.
Anytime any of you need answers about your electrical in your house or business, I'll be glad to answer your questions. 17 years as a union journeyman electrician has taught me a few things. LOL
Full Wipe Rom should do away with the problem. Just watch as u restore apps and see if u got a bad app causing the prob.

This is my first time using this site and it's great! I'm sorry for any stupid questions I ask that may have been answered somewhere else already. I have the ATT Tilt/HTC Kaiser 8925 and love it...recently the ringer randomly switches to vibrate. It does it sometimes when I'm using the calendar/appointments and sometimes when I haven't even touched it. I've seen tons of posts on HTC Home versions that affect it but I found (then lost) a thread that said something about about a Registry Edit you could to to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated or any other thoughts that may help fix this. I keep missing calls and it's driving me crazy!! Thanks so much!
i haven't searched yet, but mine will switch to any level, i keep it on vibrate while at work(Kohl's) and today it switched to loud while in my pocket and i didn't realize it till my VC started to read an extremely long text in front of my boss. fortunately he thought it was the coolest thing ever but he said it will never happen again or i'm fired(ass hole) but yeah i will post what i find when i search later

Are you using a stock ROM?
Unless people have had the exact same problem, it's going to be hard to help you without more info on what software is on your device.
If it does happen to be a random occurrence, a hard reset usually fixes it.
i have a similar problem with my tilt
i have noticed this hapening on my tilt which is running duttys latest rom. its only been happening in the last fed weeks.
ive also noticed that sometimes the phone will ring for a couple of seconds then go into vibrate mode as well.
i found my problem to be the settings in spb phone suite. if you have any profiles set etc if you change the system settings spb phone suite will automatically change them back after like 10-20 minutes. hope this is a help to some people. but i was about to go crazy till i sat and stared long and hard at my phone and realized what could also be the problem. i no longer have the issue!
i think this happens when your profile is set to automatic... it takes your status from your calender (if you have set it to busy in some meeting) it will switch to vibrate and if there is nothing for you in the calender it switches to the normal mode.....
I had the problem, then I flashed to L26 v6 and no more problems.

*Dumb question, but how and where do you SET your PROFILE? There's tons of options on the phone, but I don't know of anywhere to change something that says profile from automatic to something else? Any info. on that would be great and I'll try your solution. I'd rather not do a hard reset if I can help it. Thanks!
Having the same issue. Saw this post:

Not sure if it works yet, but good luck to others!
Mike
Looks like this might be due to HTC Home. It appears there is an update / fix:

Hi, like the title says, whoever calls my phone basically gets sent straight to voicemail. On my side, the phone rings once and stops.
I have the latest NRG GTX ROM installed and hard reset the phone every time flash it. This probably has been happening since mid April and I have been flashing my phone since late December and had no problem until mid April.
I called AT&T and asked if they could help and they tried giving it different amount of rings before it goes to voicemail. That didn't work either... I have posted in the NRG forum and nobody could help, besides telling me to hard reset and Vol up+down, which didn't work either.
So... if anybody experienced the same problem as me that fixed it or have an idea on how to fix it, please respond! I need your help! THANKS!!
Its in the Call Forwarding settings.
Hi there.
The answer to your issue lies in the Call Forwarding settings.
Use Touchflo to go to @Settings' and hit 'All Settings' to enter the Windows menus. The following is in WM6.1 so maybe slightly different if you are using 6.5. Hit the 'Personal Tab' and select 'Phone'. Then select the 'Services' tab, highlight 'Call Forwarding' and then hit 'Get Settings...'.
You will then see a variety of settings and tock boxes that relate to call forwarding and in particular. In the drop-down box for 'Forward After:' change the value to something longer - like 30 seconds...hit ok, hit ok. Done
OMG! Thanks, left of centre. You saved me the trouble of returning the phone for a new one. Idiots at at&t should learn from guys like you that know whats going on. Much appreciated and thanks again for your help!!
Sorry for bringing this up from the dead but this was the only thread that was right on with the problem.
I have a captivate running perception and same problem.
I was just wondering if anyone knew how to fix or change the forwarding settings on this phone to prevent this exact problem?
Phone ring once and just vibrate.
I have the same problem with my xperia x10i. when someone calls me it rings once then just goes to vibrate mode...can someone help me fix this problem please Thank you in advance.
Anyone that is on this ROM, I would like you to try making a 3 way call and let me know if you are able to, please post, some seem to be able to do so and others not and we are trying to find the reason and culprit, all suggestions are welcomed, I even spoke with the developer and he is still trying to find out why some can and others can't
OK update, I flashed CM 6 tonight and have the same issue with the Rom, not able to make a 3 way call, just to clarify in case peeps want to know my process, while on a call, I hit add a call, then type the phone number I want to add, then I hit call button, then I hear a dial tone and then silence, the second counter works as I see the seconds moving, but nothing on the other end, if I wait or if I hit merge calls I get a fast busy signal and the call gets disconnected. So tonight I decided to flash back my stock rooted ROM to see, and low and behold, I am able to do a 3 way call, so it is something in Both Senseless ROMS that is not allowing me to make a 3 way call, any suggestions, I am all ears, I even spent 2 hours with the developer of AOSP, and still no go, and also called Sprint to see if they could refresh the phone and still nothing, and no I did not tell them I was rooted, LOL
Bump, I posted this in another forum and here, to see if anyone with this issue has found a walk around, thanks again
Bump, anyone with the same issue and not able to do 3 way calls please post here so the developer can see others are having the same issue
About a week ago I noticed this problem happening and I'm not sure why.
Every time I answer my phone it answers in Speaker mode.
So for example if my phone is sitting on the table and a call comes in I swipe left to right to pick up the call. Normally at this point I would put the phone to my ear.
But over the past week I have noticed that when I answer the call the speaker is on and I have to answer then turn off the speaker then put it to my ear.
Can anyone help with this problem!!!!
Not sure if it's relevant but I have the following on my modded SGS
Go Launcher EX
Go Dialer
Go Contacts
Go SMS
They have all been on the phone for over 3 months with no problems.
The rest of my phones details can be seen in my sig.
I too have been experiencing this problem! ANd it too just started recently, I ahd no problems before as well, Im running Darky 2.3.4 though, but I too have Go SMS, perhaps its a recent update? Im going to uninstall and see.
It appears that the problem has sorted its self out ... for now !
I turned off the phone and back on again and it stopped answering the calls with the speaker on.
Lets hope it stays like that
ive read thaat the problem at least for some disapeared after updating gosms or gocall app or somrthing like that so keep your apps up to date
Yes the problem is fixed, just update; and then restart your phone.
I'm not a noob by any means. I've done all the normal troubleshooting. I've looked for other similar topics and none exist for this phone. I've tried everything that I can think. Having said that, please excuse me if i missed anything.
Basically, my issue is that I can't accept 95% of my incoming calls. I try to.... And the call hangs up when I press answer. I have the regular stock google dialer. I'm stock but rooted and unencrypted. I realize this may have to do with LTE still being on and not H+ but it's really annoying. It does switch to H+ but still hangs up.
I tried a few custom ROMs and the issue still exists. I've ensured that notifications are checked in the dialer app.
Someone please help me. Maybe I'm missing something simple. It's really annoying not being able to accept a call and having to call people back for every call received.
Please and thanks
And now I've officially tried EVERY ROM for this phone and still.... Can't answer incoming calls. Ugh. Someone please help
Have you tried updating your radio? Have you tried setting your phone in non-LTE so at most it only utilizes H+/H/3G?
Have you cleared cache and tried it in safe mode?
@zephiK thank you for the ideas. Flashed the new radio from your thread... Issue still persists. I haven't gone to just 3g yet because I use my phone a lot for work (law enforcement) and need the LTE speed when identifying people
Edit: tried using 3g and 2g anyways.... Still hangs up whenever I answer incoming calls. Ugh

I have cleared both cache and dalvik cache. I can't get safe mode to work..... I'm using liquid smooth at the moment and when holding power off it doesn't show the option for safe mode
Well I figured out holding reboot gives the safe boot option. My phone bootlooped. I'm going to have to totally undo everything on my phone. Lock and unroot my phone. Then I'll start over using only stock without unlocking or rooting first then continue this trouble shoot.
If anyone can think of anything else please let me know thank you and merry Christmas
I had the same issue with mine. I thought I was going crazy. Hope you get it worked out. I sent mine back to Motorola yesterday for a refund.

Update : Solved....
I wiped everything and started over. I flashed stock and went into safe mode. Calls worked. So it was easy to figure out... It was a downloaded app. A call blocker that was blocking everything instead of just the calls it was supposed to.
Thank you to those who offered opinions, suggestions, and comments
I had the same issue with the N5 on att. Was rooted and used a tool that opened a Sprint "only" service menu. Played with a setting and boom, i had voice. Data worked no problem throughout this ordeal.
Have the same problem with a Nexus 6, suddenly the phone did not show up any incoming call screen/window or way to slide out to answer an incoming call. It rings but there is not way to answer the call, even trying to go to the task bar and see if there is a window up there to answer it, no notification or window to press and answer.
This phone is not rooted nor have an application to block calls. it is with lollipop 5.01.
Any ways to solve this horrible bug? This bug is driving me nuts.
