I got tired of seeing all the threads here with boring black cases : ) so just thought I would post this in case there is anyone else here interested in colorful ones:
Vera Bradley has an ecover that fits the Nexus, although it's pricey:
http://www.verabradley.com/product/...or/Indigo+Pop/pc/638/c/0/sc/821/p/1001716.uts
Also has some sleeves that are made for ereaders, and tablets of this size.
Someone else here posted about this cool design your own case Site (can't remember who, but thank you!), and this is the one that I bought and am waiting for it to ship:

The pic I attached shows the outside I chose for mine, I think the inside was pink with a pink strap to keep it shut

Lol I have comments but I'll keep them to myself as they're not very PC. At least there are companies out there that realize girls buy gadgets too.
well, if you are not in it for the value they do look sort of nice.
i was in a store a couple hours ago to buy something, didn't buy any of these stuff but managed to snap a pic of these accessories
Nothing screams of insecurity like a 700 dollar purse, or a 300 case for a tablet. I guess its the female equivalent of middle aged men buying convertible sports cars to try and reclaim some of their youth. I'm sure plenty of us have the means, but seriously, spending that much money on a prada tablet cover puts one in the same category of doucheness that Paris Hilton aspired to, and achieved.
don't waste your money
lets keep these post informative. If something makes your life more enjoyable then who are you to decide if it is worth it. So she saved some money by buying a very capable device and now wants to use that saved money to buy accessories. My computer is way more than i ever need but i love it and it makes me happy. I have been on this forum forever but still no links can be posted by me so. just do a google search "designer cases nexus 7". then switch to images so it is easier to discern what is out there, there about 10 or so that may fit your needs

let's not rain on other people's parade just because you don't like to spend money on trivial things
if the person makes good money there isn't anything wrong with buying more expensive things
i won't buy the case myself but since the person i know who bought one does fairly well herself i dont see anything wrong either
if would be silly for someone who lives in the ghetto living on welfare to buy one of these though

I don't ever make it in those kinds of stores, they'd probably kick me out for not having enough money to pass their "test". They don't even have stores that expensive up here anyway lol Prada, Gucci, etc. are mainly status symbols, and while I admit they are built welI and beautiful, I can get similarly nice cases for 100 or just under 100. I would also bet that those "Elite" cases are out of reach of most posters on here.

Noreve Saint Tropez will also be making Nexus 7 cases, I have one for my Galaxy Note and they are awesome, top quality and amazing workmanship! They are hand made in Saint Tropez, France, and they have several choices of leather and colors. They are as nice as those Prada cases, but for a LOT less.
Edit-PDAir also makes nice, high quality cases, and will be making them for the Nexus 7 soon-

And I'm sorry, but I think it's very stupid to buy an accessory that cost more than the product it's self. I don't care how much money you have. But maybe that's just because I'm a guy. I mean, really? And it's just 1 thing. It's not like you're getting a prada-case, some perfume, and a dozen roses. I wonder if my mom thinks like that?
anything stylish colorful or just Target to women add 50 to 100 percent to the price. And the sad part is most of them are less quality then that of the plain looking items.. This be a Nexus 7 case or a pair of shoes. It cost so much more to be a Woman .
I Have seen some cases with women cbut nothing totally functional..Soon i hope for now i have a silly generic black case to protect my screen while in my purse. Of course its a tough job dangerous place in there..
GIGGLES
Uh, you clearly haven't seen the dangers in my bags. But I concur, I shouldn't have to choose between cuteness and quality. At least I'm handy enough at sewing to make my own sleeve, and I can use whatever pattern I can find! But custom cases would be nice (I would be all over skinit if they did any of my products). Seriously, though, a sleeve is two seams down the sides and a drawstring or flap on top, anyone could do that. -Ara

I have that case in red without the sleep wake magnet. I decided to order a TPU case recently, and a slip cover plus a car mount. Folio cases make it harder to mount in the car which I actually like to do, oddly enough. GPS is excellent on the N7.

Poetic makes the same one for a few dollars more. Looks like this is the cheapest one. I'm ordering.
Long live the One X
MoKo, Bluerex, and a few others are making what appears to be the exact same case for a few bucks more. Did they skimp on materials, or are they identical. Warranties? Anyone know? I would think they are all buying them from the same manufacturer, so I'm curious how these guys sell foll less than half the others.
Hey, thanks for posting that! That's exactly what I'm looking for (a case that doesn't completely cover the bezel, has multiple angles, and cheap). I just pre ordered mine as well, and will be using it until Speck releases their FitFolio for the Nexus. That's the case I ultimately want, but this $5.00 case looks like it will hold me over just fine for now.

Depends how much profit they want to take. You can look these cases up on alibaba to see where they come from - the manufacturer is happy to emboss a logo on the front to make it look branded. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of different factories ready to supply the same basic design, but doubt there'll be much difference in quality.
[Edit: I can't find this design on Ali Express at the moment, but similar cases are running for around $6-7 in lots of 20-50, so $4.99 is getting pretty close to the base manufacturer price.]
Wow, I am so annoyed with amazon's shipping. Not the first nice case I've found, and for such a nice killer price too that won't ship to Canada. The case concept is exactly what I'm looking for. I found this one that ships to Canada branded by i-bason, but it's 24 bucks with shipping though looks the same. I'm debating either ordering that or waiting until more 'look alike' cases appear on amazon that ship to Canada.

Yeah, very strange. Thanks for the link. I think I'll see if anyone else gets this branded case before jumping in. Like you said, there is almost no profit for EXOTEK, and that doesn't even include shipping/transport for them. Something seems off about the price. For not much more, there is a bit more peace of mind I think.

Looks like they raised the price to $8.99 + $4.99 shipping...
I checked my invoice to be sure, and sure enough it's still at $4.99 and no shipping charges. Maybe a mistake on their end by having that original price, or they saw the orders coming in and thought they could make a few more bucks by raising the price?

I emailed Incipio last week to see if they intended making covers for the N7 like they do for the Ipad and they emailed me back last night to say they are releasing a range of products but no details are available yet, but to keep an eye on their website and there should be info there soon. Maybe it's because lots of friggin people want to friggin buy them?
...or maybe it's because one size fits all and so it's easier to get one to market early.
No company can set up, tool up and manufacture quality products at the drop of a hat never mind them wanting to make sure there's going to be a sustainable market for it.

i agree with this. i also believe google announced the tablet and released it 2-3 weeks later and didn't work with anyone on accessories. perhaps it was to generate sales of their case, but the consumer got screwed. i'm not a fan of the asus case. from day one i wanted a leather case and over a month later, i'm still limited in my choices becasue companies are still working on their cases. i emailed marware last week and they still said 4-6 weeks.
OMG can this come any sooner?? :crying:

Incipio makes decent cases, but they're always way overpriced. I got the N7 because of its value, and this is going to carry over with my accessories for it. If I wanted to overspend, I would have gotten an iPad.

Define "Quality" because aside from a single expensive slab of leather, there's NOTHING here. This case offers nearly ZERO protection against, well, anything. The damned tablet is literally held in with STRINGS FFS! Not good ones either, nooo. They are elastic bungee and will allow the thing to hit the ground under impact. Then they want you to bend it backwards and TIE IT THAT WAY and call this a stand? LOL. Now, sure the leather is nice looking. But to call this a "case" is probably illegal in several countries. Let's call it what it is. It's a fashion accessory. Nothing more. Now if a fashion accessory is worth more to you than protecting your device, then by all means spend 70 bucks on it. It's a free country. I want you to have whatever you want, and pay as much as you want to for it. But don't come in here talking down to everyone else that didn't buy this case like we are dumb and are gonna have to replace ours over and over while you, in your infinite wisdom, will not. This just makes you a douche bag, Our cases might be less expensive, but every one of those 5 "Chinese Knockoffs" (as you call them)will protect this device better and for longer than this ridiculous attempt at a case. Does that make you dumb for having bought one? Only if you labor under the delusion that because you paid so much for it, it's somehow a better quality case and will protect your tablet better. Because it won't. Not even close. It's just pretty. Pretty useless.

The replacement cord I think is for the closing mechanism to the case. That would make sense I think.
I bought the case for my wife's nook based on the look, quality and yes protection of it. The nook is already covered with a skin from decalgirl.com and a screen protector, and using this cover does indeed offer some protection. No it's not a Seidio case, it's a case that is pretty much a wallet lol. But the protection I speak of is the protection of the screen from impact if something would happen to fall upon the screen.
But everyone has their opinion, which is fine, but why the hate. If you don't like it, move on. There are many other choices out there besides this if this doesn't float your boat.
Exactly. Never said there was anything wrong with buying it. Just saying that simply because it's 10x the price of all these others does not mean in any way that it's "Worth" 10x as much in protection or durability. So people acting like it is are only kidding themselves.
I was going to buy one instantly, then I saw that the tablet was held in by strings and elastic cords, and while its stunning on the outside, it looks cheap as **** when the cover opens. I wish they had a better looking system to secure the tablet, that's atrocious.

I've had a couple of their cases and trust, they're anything but cheap looking and feeling. I bought mine used from other forum members, so I paid half, but that's a QUALITY case. They don't charge those prices for nothing. They can charge that because it's a great case and there's a market for them. You won't pay it, fine. They are supposed to have an old world feel to them. The leather and wool on the inside is something.

If you watch the video on the Oberon website it shows that the tablet is held in quite securely in the case. Also they give you extra strings to close the latch so if you can go a year without having to replace it I'd consider that a non issue.
I'm interested in hearing any reviews for this case

I wouldn't care if it would be three times the cost of the device, I would definitely be buying that!
No I don't belive cost = quality (far from it actually). Didn't mean to start anything but I do think a lot of thought went into these. The video was very informative about the design choices (which is what it always comes down to).
As far as protection my opinion is that as long as the cover is closed the edges of the leather will absorb more than most without transferring the shock to the tablet. If it falls with the cover open there is a greater chance of it breaking (just like the rest)

It has also taken the place of carrying a small diaper bag for my 2 year old. can fit his bottle, snacks, zip lock bag of wipes, two diapers and 3 hot wheels for him to play with. I also carry a mora 4" knife, gerber multi-tool, two 3" very sharp folding knives, window punch and two small bright flashlights. Three is two, two is one and one is none is pretty much my moto. My kid calls it "da-da purse". Its ok.

Thats would be ok. but i am not sure i would trust that with my stuff. I do like their classic messenger bag but i would really like to see more pics and maybe a hands on before trusting my stuff in a bag company that seems to be going for looks. the 5.11 and maxpedition bags are built like tanks. very strong material build.
The integrated bottle opener is a nice touch though.
I like the bags from Rickshaw. I just haven't been able to justify the cost yet. Would love to grab a Mini Commuter.

I threw the #2 rod through the oil pan on my S10 earlier this summer. Really sucked and now i am without a car for a couple months since it is not worth fixing. I realized i had too much stuff to carry with me on a day to day basis so i decided to get some sort of bag. I went with the manliest style i could think of and now it carries everything i need.

UTG Bag
I actually picked up a small bag from the Bench Factory Outlet store near me, just the right size for the N7... and it looks cool cos it has Bench written on it
adamhlj: if you want to trust your stuff to a cheap bag like that then go ahead. thinking like that means you were ripped off by buying a nexus tablet as opposed to a emedia tablet. If you want to buy the kia of bags then go ahead. I'll stick with the lexus of bags and it will last longer.
besides I bought my bag on overstock sale for $50. I'd rather pay twice as much for something that will last longer then 3 months.

50 bux for a nice bag isn't bad. I have used Oakley sandbags in the past and was good, but I kinda like the 5.11 Pack you posted. I may get one of these. Thanks for the info
i started carrying a man purse (tumi t-tech) since i got my first ipad
the bag fits a 10 inch tablet or a 7 incher with some accessories
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...rh=n:1036592,k:shoulder+bag+tumi+t-tech&ajr=0
it looks something like this one, mine is 3-4 years old at least since i got it when ipad first came out
I got a murse (man purse) to carry my rooted Nook Color about 2 years ago. And it went with me everywhere until I got the N7.
It holds my N7, wallet, keys, phone, over the ear headphones, cleaning cloth, extra charger and cord, etc.
But, OTOH, I am old and get away with it!!!!:laugh:
Oh yeah,,,,made by Eagle Creek.

Whoa seriously there is nothing wrong with UTG (under the gun). They make a lot of crap and a lot of quality stuff at a decent price. they're made to contend with higher priced items and do this well. My job sells like 100+ UTG items. AND I happen to own a 2011 Kia Forte Koup. It is an amazing car! No really... go to Kia and test drive one. Or an Optima. They're amazing cars nowadays. And the money I saved by buying this car goes to things like my tablet and cheaper bags and anything else I want to splurge on.
He was just trying to offer his helpful opinion. With that attitude u might as well skip on android and go with an iPhone.

In this case, you do get what you pay for...
UTG -
Polyester
5.11 -
1050D Nylon
Saying somone was "ripped off" is not helpful...especially when they are mistaken.
Only thing that popped up in my mind.
You men have it so lucky... murse, tactical bags, back pockets... I'm a girl. I can only stick in into one of the bazillion purses, messenger bags or backpacks I own.

I got with android because i am a fan of linux and open source. I also believe i should be able to do what i want with my mini computer. Android phones are not that much cheaper then iphones and no matter what anyone says iphones work really will with other apple products. And actually, i am considering the iphone 5 when it comes out. Since the trend of android is making high end devices huge. I want a high end phone with a 4" screen. I dont need to carry around 2 tablets. Thats nice that you have a kia. Will it be running strong in 10 years? We'll see. I see plenty of honda, toyota, lexus, chevy, fords, and dodges from 02 on the road. not too many Kias though. Sacrificing price for quality is not wise in my decision. And like beestee said there is a structural different between the bags. I also didn't have anymore attitude in what i said then the attitude that adam had when he said i got ripped off.
Now back on topic.

I like that sandbag. i'll have really give it a once over the next time i see one in the stores. I also have the bag listed below. I have seen it for about $75 but i paid $90 for it. That is what i use when the family goes to the zoo or disneyland. I have also used it for a 3 day camp/hike trip. Worked really well. If it was winter or any longer then i would have had to use a bigger bag. Day hikes just get the 5.11 PUSH. Take 5 min and watch the video on the MOAB 10. You'll see a lot of attention to the little details in the construction of this bag.

Checked out the MOAB, awesome awesome bag. I miss being in the USAF with stuff like this lol. Eh whatever...lol A glock in the compartment, nice...forget my tablet lol
I pulled the trigger and got a deal on the Max Jumbo KISS bag. I think it should suffice. I just dropped my N7 on the curb because my 4yr old kicked it off the seat while I was getting her out of the truck. This is what happens when your hands are full folks lol....
I'll post a review of that bag when I get it next week. :good:
I like the KISS. I looked into that because of the zipper pouch on the side. The push pak has two zipper pouches for water. I liked the idea of the full zipper but my hand didn't fit inside that pouch. Couldn't get headphones out of the bottom. But I still like that bag

Do not forget the having to change bags to match what your wearing. I bought the nexus 7 because i got tired of always having to be sure my bag or purse was big enough to fit my a500 in..I love the device but with its size i might as well pack my computer around.. My nexus will fit in even a larger clutch bag.And a smaller purse that works well with a tiny spring strappy or strapless Dress..
You have to look good no matter what....
guys can get away with nearly anything . Get you a pair of cargo shorts with those pockets that go 3/4 the way around the leg put a hard shell case that opens at the top and there ya go.. nice protection and easy to access... pssssss
with the above about the 4 inch phone i so agree .. the sweet spot on a phone size is 4 inches..Anything bigger is to much to hold in my hand . It must Make calls and Tether to my tablet.. What more do you need in a cell phone if you have a 7 inch tablet...
I personally would NOT use a i phone ... it may be very user friendly But we are all individual people..We deserve to have a device we can make our own.And not be locked into what the manufacturer say is BEST FOR US..
Ok all lets go shopping now...

Yep, I don't buy a purse if it can't fit a small notebook, or now, if it won't fit my N7 and a charger. And I change lanyards, purses, paracord accessory, ocassionally shoes, and hat for the day, sometimes during the day if I have to change for events.
And I have a captivate glide, which is about four inches, and a physical keyboard that makes me giddy (except when looking at cases).
All I can say is thank god black goes with 'everything'! -Ara

I am surprised no one has posted about this as of yet.
QBKing77's youtube channel has a video review of this "contraption".
Currently there is a deal where you get a free TPU case (i think thats what it is called) with the purchase of a $30 FlyGrip.
He also mentions how you get a discount by using his name at the checkout.
I am almost convinced to get one, but would like your input on this.
Check out this video where he discusses the flygrip (somewhere in there).

I just purchased one. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for sharing, looks like a great idea
Not sure if it would add too much bulk
Pricing with shippingmmakes it quite expensive for us international buyers
I've been using it for about a week now, and haven't regretted that decision. It's definitely a must if you're using your N2 a lot with single hand. I'm still waiting for Aduro case to release their awesome kickstand case that they had for the GSIII:

And no, it doesn't add much bulk at all.

The Aduro case looks pretty neat. I might hold off to get one. Is it going to be as cheap like for the GS3? Around $15?
Man that fly grips looks pretty cool anybody get one yet? Its kind of cool how the CEO makes his own youtube video and enter acts with the customers. I just ordered one yesterday and got my shipping confirmation today. I think it will be a great addition to the GN2.

I would love to hear from you! I need someone to convince me into getting this, its just that $30 doesnt seem to worth it...
I've been on the fence with this since i saw a video review of these a few weeks ago. I am horrible about ordering things online. I search the heck out of them and then never buy anything. I really like to see things in person.
I really like the idea though. Seems like it would really make the phone more comfortable for me. I have the flip cover and i usually have one finger between it and the back of my phone which gives me a pretty secure grip but after a few minutes my poor finger starts to feel smashed back there.
Maybe i should just break down and go for it. I could use the free case for testing the mod for using a tpu case with the flip cover.
So indecisive....

Too bad they had super expensive shipping to Sweden
Sent from a big Note 2
I got one. The guy is real easy to deal with. I had to swap mine from white to black since Tmobile had no white Note2s. He did it without issue. I carried my phone for a week w/o the clip and now about a week with the clip. I find its a nice bonus. I mostly use it when I'm relaxing and holding the phone at odd angles. Its great for that, very secure. In day to day use I don't really use it since my TPU case has really good grip already.
I had my phone for almost a week before I got my flygrip. In my opinion it makes the phone much easier to use one handed. I have maybe slightly above average hands and I can reach the whole screen easier with it. The stand feature is very nice too. I have mine on a body glove and feel extremely confident I have a very secure grip on my phone when using it. Weird angle gripping is much easier as well. I would recommend one for the GNII 100%
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
What time curious about is how easy it is to transfer between cases or devices. I saw a video of somebody removing the FlyGrip and it looked to be some super adhesive material.
How resuable is it exactly?
Edit: Took a closer look and looks like you could grab a pack of 3 replacement adhesives. Was really excited for it despite the price since you could say it's justified with the TPU case throw in....but unfortunately the shipping code "QBKING77" is limited only to the States. Really disappointed since I'll have to pass just based on the shipping costs.

I had one on my Sensation, and am awaiting new adhesive, but I LOVE my Flygrip. Thing is simply amazing. I didn't think that I would get 30 bucks worth out of thin cheap plastic, but I've been sorely tempted to pickup a second one for my tablet. Also, they have pretty good customer support, I've called three times, and it's always the same guy that answers. I actually prefer this to the kickstand cases because of the one handed grip support. I can't text on my bike without it, especially with this phone. I'll upload a couple pictures as soon as I get my sticky backs

I just took mine off of my Sensation, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It took some forcing to actually begin to remove it, as it is really pretty damn strong, but once I got it separated from the old case it was simple enough to just rub the remaining residue away. It does leave a very clean rectangle on whatever case you put it on after removal lol.

So emailed FlyGrip with some questions. Response was very quick, not to mention a nice surprise with the great customer service!
" .... Additional tape provided”, are there extra adhesive tapes in each FlyGrip package? Or that we would have to buy the pack of 3 if we were interested in replacements?

Flygrip comes with (1) extra adhesive. So after you remove it, you can put the new adhesive on.* "Some" people try using the existing adhesive.* It depends on how sticky it still is.* We recommend to use a new one, but sometimes the adhesive is sticky enough to reuse.* We sell (3) packs for $2.47.
*
Also, a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if you do happen to have any promotions going on for international shipping (namely to Canada) as the FlyGrip was something I was immediately excited for, only to see the cost of shipping.

I asked my manager. You can USE "INTL5" as a code, to receive $5 off shipping.

Tl;dr Each FlyGrip has one extra adhesive, and use INTL5 for $5 off international shipping.

Looks great but $30 is a lot for what it is. I'll wait for the cheap eBay HK version
Love my FlyGrip. I enjoy knowing I'm not going to drop the phone, but I really purchased it because I'm an ex-EVO user and knew I'd miss the kickstand. I use it as a kickstand whenever the phone isn't in my pocket. Right now I'm using the free case that was included, but I'll take it off in a few weeks. I usually don't go for bold colors, but got the blue kickstand and a royal blue case. Nice looking.
He has lots of videos on the site to help with making a decision. Oh, no, it doesn't add bulk, it's only 1/4" deep. USA made and the packaging is very good looking, would make a great gift.
I think it's a smarter decision to look at these.

Much cheaper, and they look more versatile.
