So where it can be purchased??
Any idea about online stores??
Officially corp via W8

sony showroom people will take order and will get it for us but it cost more than 2000 inr,so i decided not to buy and i searched in internet for hours but no online store selling it

Ever heard of ebay?

Ebay
I'v bought the full housing and replacement touchscreen to "refurbish" my x8 on ebay, you can have worldwide free shipping of almost all sellers.

[Q] Screen Replacement

Hello there!
I use a SE Xperia X8 with the Synaptics touchpad.
I found out that the only way to have a TRUE dual touch screen is this: [Module] | X8 only | AX8MT v005 | Dual touch for Cypress touchpad. (Thank you AnDyX for your great work on Cypress chipset and doixanh for your X8Gesture for Synaptics Chip)
Although this only has effect if the phone is equiped with the cypress chip
So I came with the idea of replacing the Synaptics Chipset with Cypress which is the one that suports dual touch.
My question is: Is that possible? I mean are there any other hardware parts that were made to work only with Synaptics?
And if this is possible, then is it something I can do it my own, or sould I visit a service center or something like that?
P.S.: In the same thread ([Module] | X8 only | AX8MT v005 | Dual touch for Cypress touchpad) it is said that: "The CY8CTMA340-XXX-03 (two-finger support) and CY8CTMA340-XXX-11 (four-finger support) device families are both available today from Cypress. Qualified customers can contact Cypress for more information and to obtain samples.". So, are they both compatible with our X8? (I of course mean if Cypress chipsets are at all compatible with Synaptic-chiped-phones)
You probably could replace it but you would have to take apart lots of parts and search a few marketplaces for the chip ect

Im not shure, but i think ive read somewhere that if you replace the digitizers(that is possible) you have to edit something in the software.no one never tried it tho..

Ok, so if I somehow find a way to buy a Cypress Digitizer is it possible to replace it myself? I mean is it easy, or I will probably damage my phone?

Hi maxnaxos and welcome to our community . It is really easy to replace the screen on your own even a kid can , the only difficulty is to find a digitizer that has cypress chip on it but you can recognize it from the code that it is written on the chip that has on it.Cypress chips starts with CY###### and continues with numbers.Use ebay and contact the sellers and i think you will find the one that you looking for.
Take this guide : x8 dissasemble guide it will help you to open and put the parts again to your phone , for any questions i am open to pm's.
*The only tools that you need is a t4 screwdriver with star end , a mini philips screwdriver with positive end and a removing plastic tool usually these come in one packet so you dont have to worry..
I never took apart my x8,but i did all the other phones,a nintendo, psp, that like ****s...generally you will need really small screw drivers.like cross screw driver, flat screw driver etc..

Youre always so negative. Let him do what he want. I think this could be a nice story if he do it.
It can easily be done, a user already changed his digitizer, check the acessories forum for a thread called "looking for cypress digitizer" or sth..

If the price is only 15$, then it certainly worths it! We may need another 10-12$ for shipping and with less than 30$ we have real dual touch. Why should we buy a new phone that may costs more than 500$?
I think that tomorrow I will try to find someone in eBay that offers Cypress screens.

[Q] Buying a X8

Hi,
i want to buy a new X8. ATM i just have a K800i
I looked around here and saw, that there is a Problem with the MultiTouch Support.
My Question:
Is it the only way to test with a sample Programm, if it has a Cypress Digitalizer?
If yes:
Is there any Shop, which are selling X8 with Cypress Digitalizers?
All I can say is baaaaaaad choice. Get a Samsung or something. The X8 is pretty old. No updates from SE anymore. You're going to get bored pretty soon.
Can u suggest me then a Samsung? Max 150€
Go to your country's carriers websites. Prices aren't the same everywhere.
The Galaxy Y is exactly 150 € here in Greece.
I searched and found the Samsung Galaxy Y for 229 is the cheapes at the Samsung Website.
The Xperia X8 is for 117€
What? Are you kidding me
Here in Greece everything is overpriced and the Galaxy Y is only 150!!!
Then it is in Germany even worser
Just looked into Amazon: Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 - 116,49
So: Never buy from the official store
But it doesn't look better then from the X8.
Only it is better in terms of ClockSpeed and maybe RAM.
That's a big deal and it also runs on official Gingerbread.

Unfortunately I live in WB and they doesnt ship to WB and some other states due to Govt Duty reason.
There lowest price is 11,500 INR without warranty (seller warranty is not a warranty).
It's Better to buy Xperia Sola.
Also Xperia U is nice but you can't install HD games because of 4gb memory limitation.

Most of us pre-ordered and got an extra item instead.
Some got the Sony MDR-1R
Some got the DK-26
Some got bluetooth speakers etc etc
Maybe that's the reason. I don't think people can still get those items anymore when they buy the phone, but these without the protector included are still from the old batch.
Who knows...

Compatible parts
Hi, can someone help me? I buyed a digitaliser on ebay and I have replaced this fine, but the touch is very bad, very unresponsive, glove mode doesn,t work now and multitouch ******
The seller gave me the money back
Now I want to buy an ORIGINAL PART FROM SONY, not compatible parts. Where I can go to buy this?
Please help me! Now I have installed the broken glass because it works fine. I prefer the broken glass to a clean glass but unresponsive.
The Sony digitaliser contains both active and passive capacitors that's why it can have glove mode and mutitouch perhaps the digitaliser you bought only contained passive capacitors. That's the normal ones. Try a more expensive one. Also those problems could be caused by a bad connection try cleaning the connections with contact cleaner. If you want to be sure its a Sony part you may have to go to a Sony centre.

If its marked as an OEM part then it should be made by the same manufacturer as the original part so that would be your best bet. Unfortunately online it hard to be sure.

On my broken screen it says the same but "40" / "48" (i,m not sure because it,s installed yet) instead of "8" Can be a part of the region code?
The digitiser of the models C5302 / C5303 / C5306 / M35h are the same?
Thanks bro, this thread will help more people in the future
EDIT: On my original broken screen it says "44" xD
The xperia SP range are all identical hardware the difference is the radio baseband ie the frequencies they are capable of receiving. The C5302= 3g version C5303= global LTE/4G version and the C5306= american LTE version I would just buy an OEM digitaliser and fit that

I have found more information:
On the photo you can see how the fake glass have 3 dots on top when the original SP cristal have 2
On the picture is not appreciated but you can see how obviously the white is not the same in both, The original have a brilliant white and the fake have darker white.
When you give touches at the original cristal it feels sturdy but on the fake cristal sounds cheap
