Changing the back cover.

Friends, does anyone knows how to remove the back cover ? My back cover is in a bad condition, decided to buy a new cover but i have no idea how to disassemble the phone Maybe someone knows how to do it without injury ?

aluminium would kill nfc, as would ANY other alu/steel/iron whatsoever material. it just won't let the radio waves pass through.
so it's glass or plastic or something alike

Does the ion have nfc cause they use aluminum for that phone though I must say I love the feeling of my LT30a they use plastic but it doesn't feel cheep my girl friend thought it was metal at first probably partially do in fact to that it has a very solid build quality to it, it may be plastic but it doesn't feel Plasticy

[Q] Broken Screen replacement

Hi, I dropped my cell and now it has its screen broken... the touch screen and LCD are fine, only the frontal glass is broken.....
Does anyone know how to replace it? I've already googled it but I can't find any tutorial

I already did it, but they want to replace the glass and the lcd screen, which is almost the same price of a new phone

I think he's talking about the protective gorilla glass(there is a layer without doubt) he says lcd and touch are fine..

I'm brazilian and they are charging R$ 540,00, more less U$ 270,00....

Im pretty sure the "glass" you're talking about is a unit with the lcd.... you cant change it separately. And yes, it's by far the most expensive part on a phone nowadays.

Are you sure this device has gorilla glass? Btw it's just a single piece, I recommend you to buy a bricked i9070 and replace the motherboard from your device to the bricked device, (easiest than replacing lcd), or you can replace the lcd (maybe from i9070P too) it's the cheapest solution for you

I am sure.. Gorilla glass behaves different.. It's kind of bouncy when you tap with your fingernails or use a pen.. Same feedback from s2 and ace.. I think it's possible to replace only the protective glass
.. Unless the lcd and protective glass are fused (like in s2)

Im pretty sure that mine does not have GG. But im from Brasil and sammy always downgrade phones to us. I hate that btw.

Yes, I heard about that our brazilian SII don't have Gorilla Glass, btw I'm sure that GSA doesn't have it too. I'll keep my phone until it get unusable or maybe I'll give it to my mother and buy another one!

After watching some videos on youtube, and find this front glass replacement at ebay Screen replacement... I would like to know if I could do the same thing to replace my GSA's front glass?!

first of all, it seems that's much more difficult to replace broken glass on such a device than just replace a lcd in a simple phone like nokia e51 or anything like that. according to some guy in another forum, at home you'd never be able to replace glass only in a device like galaxy s/s2 or s3 - it's told to be some kind of gel between the glass and the digitizer that you'll never be able to put it back together to make it look and work like brand new - even on successful tearing apart the old parts and putting them together to work, you'd still have some odd dull sound of empty space when tapping the screen IF YOU SUCCEED, but I repeat it's not obvious - guess why s or s2 with broken glass are so cheap? yeah, got it - it's really not easy to do it by yourselves.
btw. don't spread rumours about the brazilian i9070 to be deprived of gorilla glass - i9070 doesn't have gg, nowhere in the world. samsung sites were displaying this information some time ago but they seem to remove it - they no longer boast of gg in i9070

I had an LG Optimus 2X P990 with GG, and I replaced the glass by myself that time. It was was pretty easy.

Hello,
I broke my xperia sp digitizer and I could find several replacement parts on ebay, although no disassebly guide seem to be available.
Has any of you ever replaced it successfully?
I wonder how to separate the screen from the actual digitizer.

you mean the digitizer and it plastic, or the digitizer and the screen.
Are the digitizer and the screen separated?

I mean screen and digitizer come stuck together you can't separate.
I know with nexus7 it is this way, and from what I searched on Google you can't get them as separates units.

that means that the digitizers on ebay are not good, since they should be a unique unit (digitizer+screen)?
for example item: 271210909026
on ebay
I couldn't find the whole screen+digitizer

Looks like I have learnt something new...sorry I have given you wrong info.

You can separate the screen from the digitizer(touch glass). They are not combined together.
If your SP digitizer broken, you can choose to replace the the touch glass or the touch glass with front housing. You don't need to replace a new screen.
For mostly phones, the screen and digitizer are glued together. But Xperia SP is different.
So what " zolaisugly" said is wrong.

Warning: you can take everything out of the phone with ease but if you want to get to the screen you need to unscrew the small pentalobe screws on the side bezel of the phone

Ultra Z has as far as I know added the resistive touchscreen layer on top of capacitive. so it's a no for Z1 unfortunately. I still hope that there will be available styluses with different levels of presure recognized - something like that for example: www.wacom.com/en/us/everyday/bamboo-stylus-feel

you have to search in your local mobile market area ( in your city) where all mobile spare parts shops are located.

Aliexpress......around 50 bucks...easy to replace , just pull out the old one with hot fan.....dont worry if you break it... It does not come with new double sided tape , so i just siliconed it

doing it at home may not seal the LCD to the body properly. LCD glue is different than silicone. also ZR is waterproof phone so need careful work
