Chrack's ICS v10 issue - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I can not post to Android Dev yet that's why i'm posting my question here.
I have flashed Chrack's v10 and all but one is working fine.
I'm wondering if anyone have the same issue with ICS browser+.
It keeps force closing. Anyone knows how to fix it? Appreciate your help. thanks!

I also noticed that I cant flash other kernel anymore.
and not even install other version or other ROM.
waaahhh.. I'm stuck! Please help!

If you really want help you should give more informations how you tried to install kernels/ROMs, which ones, what errors you get.
Thanks

I was from a rooted GB ROM when i installed cracks v10, and i installed it by flashing abyss 4.2 kernel, reboot back to recovery then wipe cache and dalvik then the v10.
then when i notice the problem with the ics browser i tried to reflash the whole ROM again, so i flashed abyss 4.2 in recovery but it stopped in the opening update message then it restarts to v10, i tried flashing notecore v8 but still the same.
i tried flashing chracks v9 but it wont finish installing and it will restart to v10 again..
i was thinking to flash abyss kernel in cwm but would that be safe?

Don't work all Custom ROM's

Hi, I succesfully rooted Galaxy Note and flash CWM recovery, but I have problem with all Custom ROM's. After flash from recovery still have black screen. Only Custom ROM functional is Cassies XLR. ClockworkMod Recovery has strange behavior, sometimes lag in wiping or another action. I trying another Recovery - Thor Touch Recovery and has similiar problem, wiping or flashing is not completed (abort or reboot recovery). Why are you doing?
Thank you for answer

follow this thread for rooting and flashing.. this would help you..
Well yours is another note fussy about the quality of the rom installed. Lol
When i made lc1 rom i did so with chainfires latest kernel. However after i tries to boot i would get tje blackscreen.
I had to switch to francos kernel before i released the rom as that did not give the blackscreen. Several reports of this in cf thread.
Not sure what rom base you rootes from and which kernel.cwm packaged you installed.
Also are all roms u tried lc1. Can you try a la6 rom and see

[Q] abnormal error, can anyone help me?

Hi,
I as of yet, am not going close to any ICS build till the issue gets solved by someone.
so I am experimenting with different gb roms. i was using checkrom v6 but didnt like it, so followed steps to install darkyrom/alliancerom extreme edition. i followed the steps as I was told to install allianceota and flash the rom through there. it didnt work. so instead using cmw i flashed through recovery, it did flash but there no root.
so now, i reflashed a stock la6 rooted rom from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
this went smoothly with no problems, so i installed allianceota as normal, this time when i try to flash the following messages come up:
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/CSC/KOR/system/'
Successfully applied multi CSC"
and then it gives me the option to reboot, wipe cache and a few other options, not full recovery mode.
shall i just reflash the rom through recovery, or am I doing something wrong? and does the slight error above mean I have a problem with my note?
cheers in advance.
Let me just say that almost every ICS ROM out there now has disabled the MMC_CAP_ERASE code in the kernel that activates the eMMc bug and bricks your phone. If you want stock ICS, you can use SpeedMod or Franco kernels. If you want AOKP, there is that now. If you want CM9, there's a bunch of variations plus the official CM9 nightly. If you read through the OP and stickies, you will be okay.
Are you on stock recovery still? It sounds like it from the error you are getting. Try flashing CWM recovery and installing the GB rom with that. Follow Drketan's thread in Android Development.
hmmm, so would you advise me to use ics? is it much better? i dont want to use cm9 builds as i need the spen apps and so on. i have looked into kingdroid or alba.
I'll have to think hard about this. i may give it a shot soon though..
oh and btw, I fixed the problem, yep it was to do with cwm it wasn't installed with the stock rooted rom. as for allianceota, it still didnt flash the rom, i had to flash the rom through cwm manually.
cheers anyhow.

I love ICS a lot more than GB. If you want to use stock ICS, I would just use Franco or Speedmod kernels with it and be safe. Read both of their forums and decide what you want to do.
I had the same problem with rom deodex i had flash with odin 1.85 firmware gingerbread here ; http://www.hotfile.com/dl/152168378/f76281c/N7000XXLC1_N7000OXXLB3_ATO.zip.html... then i made wipe cache and cache dalvick .
I've just flashed AlBa repack latest one on xxlq2, I did it by following the steps,
I thought i had broken my phone, because when the flashing finished and i was rebooting, at the beginning when it welcome to galaxy note n7000 and then goes to the bootup video, it restarted that several times, then after like a few minutes it loaded the homescreen and startup.

{Q} Stuck installing rocket rom

Hi guys, could really do with some help here.
I was on Rocket ROM ICS v3 and tried to update to v5. Wiped cache and dalvik and it installed in seconds which I thought was suspicious. It then restarted and got stuck on the galaxy note splash screen. This has happened when upgrading from 1 to 2 and then 2 to 3. So pretty sick of restoring everything!
I've just done a full reset and tried to install 5, it freezes during the installation and same with v3.
Please help im stranded without my phone
I hope that you didn't full wipe on cf-kernel....
I have no idea.. is that what v3 kernel is?

v3 is not a kernel. It is Rom.
Did you make a factory reset in cwm while being on RocketRom?
yes I know mate, but v3 says that it has the speedykernel...
But yes I have done a full reset when the upgrade to v5 didn't work
any idea how to fix it?

I thought you were referring to RR v3
For me you should flash abbys - do a fullwipe - reflash the rom
NEVER DO A FULL WIPE ON ANY ICS UNSAFE KERNELS ! YOU MAY END UP BRICKING YOUR NOTE!
you have been warned
thanks will search for the abyss kernel now and flash it and then try to flash the rom again... fingers crossed but I can still get to recovery so I presume everythings not lost?
This whole thing about not being able to full wipe on ICS, isn't that going to be a problem in the future if you decide to change rom?

that's not a problem. You can always flash abyss first and wipe. And CM9 kernels are safe to wipe.
REMEMBER - before you flash, follow the dev's instructions on how to do that!
And if you can go into download mode, you are good to go
I had the same problem. What I did was flash a rootable GB (ICS is possible), I rooted this rom. And I flashed as described in the Installation instructions
For me worked fine.
thanks, that explains it! managed to get it back to ICSv3
still a mystery why it's proving so difficult to upgrade without having to full wipe
going to try ICS v6 now without a full wipe, if it fails will try the old abyss trick

[solved] Seems i cant install ICS anymore, help

Hi,
Yesterday when I tried to upgrade to RR v6 my note didnt want to boot correctly.
After I performed a full wipe with Abyss redpill, and installed rocket rom. When my note boots again it goes to recovery and constant reboots.
After alot of reading and trying out different recomendations I installed a GB rom first one w/o root. After one with root. In gb my phone boots and works.
When I install ics (tried stock and rr6) my phone doesnt get past the samsung galaxy note screen. Im able to go to download and install GB again. Tried alot of times now to install a ICS rom and allways same bug.
Any good tips ?
Try installing KL3 via PC Odin....root your phone and try installing ics after doing all 3 wipes....if it still won't work...go to alliance from ics ...and follow all the steps given by Robbie...

[Q] Galaxy S - I9000 Bootloop

Dearest fellows of xda-developers,
I'm running into this problem now. My phone keeps constantly bootlooping. I can access both recovery aswell as the download mode. Tried a data/factory wipe and tried the cache wipe. That didn't do anything for me. Then tried to reinstall the complete firmware using Odin. Also not a solution. I've made a video of my problem without any comment though but I hope it helps you to figure out with me what's wrong with it. You'll find it as an attachment to this post. Thank you for your time and hope to get some responses soon.
With Kind regards,
John
You didn't provide enough details: which was the last installed ROM, is it still on stock firmware and if yes which one?
I see on your video that it has custom kernel and CWM recovery, do you know which kernel is that? Video is unsharp, I tought I saw for moment that it is CWM 2.5.1.2 so is it Speedmod kernel? I would try to reflash the kernel- if the issue came after flashing a kernel, then it is just a uncompatible kernel version for the ROM you were using. Or you can restore nandroid backup....don't tell you have none?
If nothing helps, you could try to flash Cyanogenmod 9 zip in recovery. It is anyway better than stock firmware.
