Hi I bought two phones htc Raider and I have one problem I kept s-on and with the stock rom, and the other was made s-off and also I have done supercid, currently with a cooked rom.
Usually I use GPRS much, and also use tools to monitor my traffic, the strange thing is that on the phone that this s-off shows no traffic change used in this s-on if it shows all the information, to see that I use the monitor traffic information.
What is the problem? anyone can help me.
Thank you.
What is the name of the tool you use?
Have you tried 3G Watchdog? It's in the market and it's free.
Probe and with that and many others, the problem is as if the phone would not provide the values, and I think it was since I put s-off and I did supercid.

Is it possible for the radio to become corrupted ?
It seems not to me, but i am having some wierd problems with my phone.
Last night I noticed the data signal crap out, I figured it was T Mobile (UK) having problems and ignored it, but its still down this morning.
If I go outside I can pull a 3G signal and that works fine, WiFi works (well it kinda works its never been paticually good for me, I dont know if its the router I have or the phone, but its never been reliable)
Occasionally the "G" icon pops up next to the signal strength icon, but i still cant browse the market or web etc...
It was working fine, and now its stopped, so could it be a radio issue or is it more likely an isolated TMobile one (maybe just in my area?)
Can I reflash the latest Radio over the top without knackering my phone ? is it worth a shot, or with it working fine with 3G / WiFi is it not worth the risk.
any advice / Help would be great.
Okies some info.

Reflashing the latest radio didn't fix it :/
Any ideas?
If your radio were corrupt you would have alot more problems than reception. It would probably result in a non-bootable phone.
Weather and other things (tmobile maintenence in your area) could be effecting your signal. I had someone call me last week saying their service was out all night, but the next day we had 3g. So maybe they are expanding coverage in your area. I agree the wifi has always been flaky for me too. Shows 1 bar one second and 4 the next when it is in the same exact position. I never noticed much difference when trying other radios. Not sure exactly what the updated ones fix, but it doesn't seem to be much.
It's network issuse and has nothing to do with your phone
did you manage to fix it? I also am having reception problems ever since I installed the new radio version
i have the exact same stuff as you

Hi - after migrating from JF 1.5 to Cyanogen 4.0.4. I faced a silimilar problem.
I was pretty sure the connection to G3 worked fine directly after having rebooted into the new ROM the first time - when logging into my Gmail account again.
Then, after a restore of my applications (I did a wipe before) I didn't get the 3G symbol back any more (being inhouse covered by a WiFi ...). My son's G1 was 3G covered instead being beside to me - in addition also covered by our home WiFi.
The solution: I had installed APNdroid some weeks before ... which for some reason was not active in the last weeks (or never worked - do not know), anyway, I didn't think of it.
After the apps restore it became active again .. which means - in proper function - whenever you will be covered by a working WiFi connection the 3G connection is dead or (the symbol) is hidden, because APNdroid forces the phone to use the Wifi link instead of G3 ... (Tethering wasn't checked yet.)
If tethering will be impossible when running APNdroid I will deinstall APNdroid ...!
Good luck.
I have been experiencing similar issues since yesterday. Each time I've lost data, I have been able to restore by doing the following:
Under wireless Controls/Mobile Networks, if I check and then uncheck "Use 2G networks only" my data connection is restored.
After the most recent stock update that added Sense 3 I started having intermittent radio problems. I had always been on stock and never fiddled with the firmware, radio, anything like that. The radio would randomly disconnect from the network and stay disconnected for a while, or I could get it back faster if I rebooted the phone or cycled flight mode. Using data often acted as a catalyst for the problem and I could reduce occurrences by using wifi when I'm at home. Total annoyance. I decided to try fixing it myself and I've found a lot of useful information here.
I first installed a couple different ROMs and found that after booting, there was no signal, so it was probably the radio. I had HBOOT 2.0 so I had to downgrade, use Revolutionary to get S-OFF, then start working with different radio versions. I haven't had any luck since.
Current setup:
Bought unbranded and unlocked from the UK. 900/1700/2100 model
Revolutionary HBOOT-6.13.1002
Baseband: 20.4802.30.0882U_3882.10.08.28_M
ROM: Virtuous Quattro RC2 (Android 4.0.2)
Network: 3 Sweden (UMTS 900/1200 network)
I've also had the same problem running Cyanogen 7.1 and Android Revolution HD 2.1.3. I had high hopes for ARHD since it said it specifically was designed for the radio I've flashed. I actually even went through and tried every single radio release from Gingerbread for the IncS. Same problem on all.
Strictly speaking it's not actually a no-signal problem, it's a very weak/malfunctioning signal problem. When I do a network scan I usually only see two of the three GSM networks here and most if not all 3G networks are missing. The few times my home network has actually shown up in the network scan list, I can't register on it. I get the "Temporarily unable to register on this network. Try again later." message.
I hope I've done enough searching and effort on my own here before posting. Needless to say I'll be grateful for any help I can get here. After many hours of reading, flashing, rebooting, reflashing, rinse and repeat, I'm looking for an end to this!

wow..i was having the same problem. totally forgot about the antenna in the back cover. i was going nuts flashing different radios wondering why i was getting only edge. i feel stupid. thanks
I had no idea the back cover made any difference at all. Thank you for pointing that out to me! I was seriously about to go buy an iPhone or something, but I remembered I loathe the keyboard in iOS
I'm all good now! Running radio .28_M with ICS and things are as they should be. At least throughout all this hassle I got my radio upgraded to a hopefully less-crashy version and I got some ICS up and running
Cheers guys!
hello everyone, im currently using a samsung mini for mainly wifi tethering as i need it for the net i am on the one plan tariff ,the problem i have is
i cant seem to get optimum speeds from this device no matter what i try what rom i have tried its all the same. but if i use my sim in other phones like a htc device i get nearly double the speeds and super smooth ,now as far as i am aware you dont need too much cpu power to run wifi tether
the handset is set at 600mhz and i can overclock it up to 864 mhz ,also when i recieve a phone call it interrupts the tethering i have to turn off and turn on the data connection as it gets stuck on hspa sign with the arrow only pointing upwards then it after i reset it all is fine ,
can someone please advise me how i can optimise this handset specifically for tethering as i dont use any other apps and dont need anything else apart from messaging ,phone calls and tethering .if someone can help me tweak this handset i would really appreciate it .as i have faith in this little handset its done well but also has many flaws when it comes to tethering ,i tried diffrent tethering apps but they all do the same mistakes and i cannot surpass past 500kbps a sec but again on any htc device i can hit over 1mbit! so why is this? even a htc desire c which is similar handset to this phone runs smoother .surely there must be a way to optimise the handset for optimal performance on tethering .
thank you and hope to get a reply back about this
flash stock rom of your region as you will then have a radio specially created for your region which will make signal reception much better
dear sir ,,, i am on the 3 network in uk ,and i cannot find the firmware which is the original stock rom for this phone .i have searched google
if you have a link for the original firmware for this handset could you please share it
thank you
are you using any carrier branded mobile
I think not
in the dialer type *#1234# you will get version number type them here
dear sir again thank you for replying back to me very grateful ..
this is what it shows once i typed in what you asked
PDA : 5570xwktn
PHONE : 5570XWKT6
on the side note i got this handset originally from 3 network with its original firmware but i never backed it up via nandroid ,.i flashed cwm on it also unlocked the sim side using the tutorials on xda to make it sim free .again i have tried just about every single custom rom made for this handset and none optimises it so hoping if i revert it back to its original rom will fix my issues with tethering ,and i would like to make my own rom for it with only messaging, telephone, tethering nothing more if that will make a diffrence a very light rom with only these few features would you let me know please so i can work on this .thank you sir
http://androidadvices.com/update-galaxy-mini-s5570-xwktn-gingerbread-236-firmware/2/
above is a guide
but you are saying your mobile is carrier branded so the firmware may not work
thank you sir ,i will try it but the handset doesn't have a 3 network badge on it only says samsung ,and they gave me the handset when i first got the contract .I will try that firmware and thank you for your kind help ,god bless
Dear Sir,
I Am Very Grateful For Your Kind Help & It Seems You Have Fixed My Issue Since I Flashed This Firmware The Phone Is Running Fantastic & Connections Seems Much Smoother Than ever before .,,God Bless & Thank You Again ..Would It Be Possible To Use This Firmware Strip It Down All The Extra Apps Embedded In It ? I Would Like To Strip This Rom Apart Make It Very Light
can be stripped down but it is really a hard work to do you may end soft bricking the device
but what you can do is root your phone then go to /system and remove all those useless apps which are not needed by system and you
i am using the firmware you told me to use which software can i use to root it sir ?
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/an...ad-root-unroot-2-3-3-2-3-7-a.html#post2130907
go to the above page and download the file according to your carrier then flash it in stock recovery you will get root
then use the app like systemapp remover to remove the unwanted system apps
to all those who have had similar issues with wifi tethering no matter what application was used for tethering i finally found the what was the problem!
i mainly use the samsung mini galaxy for only wifi tethering and had the problem of it stopping working due to the power save mode set to enabled in the wifi section of the phone ! ..i have tried just about every single rom i can find and still had the same issue even with a stock rom which dheeraj was kind enough to show me how to use the proper stock rom for my phone but that still didn't solve my problem so i done major research on this problem and found this menu which enables or disables the power saver option for the wifi and once you disable it the problem is solved! since i figured this out over 48 hours of good use and still running rock solid how it should be! the only problem is when you reboot the phone you must go back to the menu to disable power saver mode as it reset's back to it's default setting which is power saver mode enabled .
*#*#232338#*#* shows wifi mac address is how to enter this menu and disable power saver mode .,this code will only work on original stock roms or roms which is no higher than 2.3.6 .figured this out also trying various roms so no choice but to use a old rom to use this feature once you set it dont reboot the phone unless you need to . hope this will help others who use this little handset for tethering purposes and i want to thank xda developers for the wonderful work they accomplish for all of us to get the best out of our handsets god bless you all
Hello everyone! This is my 3rd day of tinkering with the phone and since I can't handle it I'm asking for help. I'm a noob who read a lot, tried and apparently messed up.
I bought a new HTC One from T-Mobile in Poland, branded with CID T-MOB101 and Hboot 1.44. Everything worked fine but the phone still had Android 4.1.2 and no update available. I decided to get rid of the brand and get international stock version to be able to receive OTAs. I unlocked bootloader with htcdev.com, installed TWRP 2.6.3.3, achieved s-off using revone, changed CID to HTC___001 and used RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed . My phone did not see OTA so I applied updates manually in following order:
OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.12-1.28.401.7_release_315849_signedp7vl8dqsvls0h1t0.zip
OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_S_HTC_Europe_2.24.401.1-1.29.401.12_P2_release_324936_signedma8j1sa3e2o09s35.zip
OTA M7 UL JB 50 S HTC Europe 2.24.401.8-2.24.401.1 Release 331108tottoh71qygw07hf
OTA M7 UL JB43 SENSE55 MR HTC Europe 3.62.401.1-2.24.401.8 Release 338160gxmo5sd9337kadux
After each OTA i tried to look for updates in phone's settings and found only two little updates (few MBs) that did not lead to bigger ones; I believe it was after first and third OTA.
After all this I started having WiFi issues. The phone stayed connected to my WiFi the whole time but after few minutes pages would not load, games would not connect. Resetting the connection would help for another few minutes (or less). Factory reset seemed to help a bit, the WiFi was able to keep the connection yet it 'paused' from time to time. By 'pause' I mean lose the connection for a second and regain right after, e.g. I could connect to games such as Hay Day, but after a ~minute I would lose the connection and have to reconnect (in game, without touching phone's settings) and redo last X seconds of game.
Because of that I went and applied ARHD 31.6 custom rom and hoped for the best. The situation remained the same so I flashed ARHD 41.0, yet the problem still remains.
In the end I downgraded my Hboot so it goes back to 1.44 and used the RUU I used the first time, after that I changed CID back to T-MOB101 and applied my full backup I saved by booting (prior to flashing) TWRP before I changed anything in the phone.
I did full wipe every time I changed the system and I did factory reset multiple times.
As of now I am on my backup with
Android 4.1.2
Version 1.29.111.16 CL175271 release-keys
Radio 4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05L
and my WiFi is unstable. I can browse internet, watch YouTube or do things like that, yet I cant play games requiring constant internet connection, such as Hay Day.
So my question is: What do I do to get it to work as it used to at the beginning? I would prefer having the newest Android version, but at this point I simply need a working phone so if anyone has a solution that would work on my current system or by flashing a new one I will be extremely grateful.
I've been having the same issue. Thought it was just me because I've looked for a solution ever since the Jelly Bean update. Mine is a Sprint One and worked perfect with the original firmware. Once updated wifi connected and would randomly drop for a few seconds and reconnect. I've noticed it's router specific. I had a Linksys wrt160 that had a problem at home, but at the office the Cisco E2500 works fine. I swapped my home out with an Asus RT-N12 that has the problem too, but not as bad. Was hoping KitKat would fix the issue, but it didn't. I've worked with HTC support for a while and they said the new rom's have updated wifi drivers so there must be some compatibility issue with it.
Think the best bet is a custom rom that has all the new kitkat features but the old wifi (and BT since the new one doesn't load the contacts in my car) drivers. Someday, I'll take the time to figure out making my own rom.

For now I'd recommend contacting HTC support and create a ticket so they know this problem is more widespread. That way all the new roms out there would have a working WIFI driver.
thanks

That's odd, when the first tier support couldn't figure it out they opened a ticket for me with higher level techs and they had me save a bunch of capture logs when the drops happen to email them. The carrier would be useless on this.

I have an HTC one m7 (att model) but I believe I can install the regular HTC one m7 roms right?? I won't be needing mobile data.. I plan on unlocking tomorrow or.sometime really soon, I just want to use this phone as my bicycle computer with a certain app. I won't have a sim card inside it, everything will be ran without any data needed.. I'll periodically be using WiFi to update things as needed..
I was just wondering, is there a simple lightweight Rom/kernel setup out there anyone would recommend?
I need sound, WiFi, and GPS working flawlessly.
I need the best battery life possible.
I need something stable without any reboots or anything so since I'll be recording long distance cycling routes..
Is there a way I can maybe disable or remove the modem file to save battery so mobile data won't work forcably?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank u so much!
