Go back to gb
Then only.wipe cache n data, it will b alright, your note shud not bricked.
Wat i am surpised is why ddlc1 have wiped your data?
Can you give me detail how you have flashed it?

There is no need to go to abyss, as you are downgrading to GB, so first downgrade then wipe is enough
@OP
Downgrade/Flashing won't harm your device
Find 1st link on my signature. and select GB ROM to download and simply flash it with PC Odin, everything is mentioned there. Read it completely and still you have any doubt post your quuery."
Ps: sometime i surprise how much you newbies are lazy.
- I said just find gb rom from first link on my signature, you back within few min you cudn't find gb rom. Have you read even first five line of op? I alrwady wrote there gb rom is in post 2 n 3
Now have you read at least single post (installation guide)?
I have clearly mentioned in installation guide, fc n crash is common when switching from ics to gb, just wiping will solve it.
Guys Why you have so hurry ?

i have not wiped it or formated it....but during downgrading it to 2.3.6 through odin...it automatically shows that my data is wiped....but later i checked and my data have not wiped.....the problem which i was facing was due to my data....i have formatted my note and m able now to run it smoothly.....

Ya i was surprised, b'coz it shud not wiped by flashing lc1.
Anyway your issue was common and i have said.earlier it shud not bricked. You need was just wiping. Anyway you got it back running.
But really keep it habit to read two times before flashing, modding till you get used to it.

SGN rebooting HELP!!

Hi Everyone.
Following on from my question this morning asking this question I have more time to be specific.
My note is unrooted and I downloaded to ICS 11.06.12 using Kies. Everything seemed to be going well except for the fact the phone just keeps switching itself on and off. For example; the screen is off, I want to check the time or date, by pressing the home button the screen switches on, all fine there, but then 7 out of ten times the phone then reboots. It has done this during calls, using apps and playing games when my son uses it.
Does anyone else have this issue or better still anyone have an idea why it does it?
Many thanks

He says he's not rooted so there's no option to clean dalvik.
Also wiping cache under ics can trigger superbrick. Either install Speedmod kernel and wipe dalvik and cache, or downgrade to gb, perform full wipe of all, the upgrade again.

do not use recovery unless you are on safe kernel. All ics stock kernels are unsafe. Downgrade to gb rom or install a safe kernel than do wipe/factory reset. All the instructions are present in this forum read carefully.

This point to the case of superbrick mate. It has caused damage to your system and maybe also data partition. If you have warranty try to seek help from service center where they will replace mobo. Otherwise only repartition can help revive your phone. Follow the link from dr.ketan tool box in his signature to the guide for revive superbrick note cause by emmc bug. Hope you can make it. Cheers.

[Q] Downgrade from LSA JB to ICS?

I've run the LSA firmware with little to no issues for a while now, but recently my phones decided to run hot and reboot itself with increasing frequency.
so I'de like to revert back to stock ICS and see if that helps or if I'm looking at a hardware failure.
is there any particular trick to this or can I just backup using Ti, load the new (old) ICS firmware in Odin and flash away?
thanks for any advice guys...

I've started uninstalling apps because the thing reboots during backup.
every-time i uninstall an app it reboots as well.
If you want to go back to ics, backup whatever you want using tb.
Then boot into recovery. Format/system, data, cache, preload.
Then go to advanced and choose reboot download. Then connect to pc and flash using odin. Make sure not to wipe while on stock ics kernel. Install a safe kernel ASAP.

Following are the details:
Model Number: GT-I9000
Firmware Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: I9000DDJV7
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.DDJVB
I have never rooted my phone. I have only updated the version using Samsung Kies.
The internet issue has only started after I updated to 2.3.6
well, thats samsung stock for sure, why dont u juz root it? as updating usually need a wiping cache n dalvik (thats why i hate samsung kies update my fone) n everyone here know bout it.
or juz change da firmware to jvt or jw4 or jvu, that one quite stable, but u need to flash it thru odin n flash at ur OWN RISK, i m juz suggesting here.
but if u happy with present version, find some way to clear data, cache n dalvik.cache.
but make it clear first, either ur fone is da cause or ur mobile provider got problem.

Yes, it is Samsung stock ROM.
I don't know how to root the phone. I read lot of articles on the internet for rooting and flashing, but it was very confusing.
There are other problems with the phone after updating to 2.3.6 from Kies:
1. When I type SMS or WhatsApp, the first letter is never capital.
2. The battery discharges in 4-5 hours.
3. The phone hangs very often
4. Sometimes I am not able to type an SMS
5. Sometimes I cannot dial phone no.
Since yesterday, new problem has started. When I keep for charging it says 100% in 5 mins. Then i have to disconnect the charger and connect the charger again, then it starts charging.
I don't mind rooting/flashing but I don't know how to do it correctly.
What is my phone's firmware, is it JVB or JV7.
Since you too have GT-I9000, which firmware are you using?
Which is better firmware JVT or JW4 or JVU.
Can you provide me with accurate procedure to change the firmware.
Thanks.
i m using jvu as my fone came from europe, but jvu can be use quite universally as i already flash it to jvt, jvb,n ddjvb build number i9000 without any problem
as far as i know, jw* was da latest, so juz pick any latest version, jvu/jvt or jw4 depending on ur region
but be sure to confirm ur fone is defenitely i9000 as different version will lead to bricking ur device

Also when I do root/flash, should I remove SIM card and external memory card?

I was reviewing the steps for flashing/rooting in the below link and I have some query:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
After the steps for flashing the steps are provided for rooting:
Go into Download mode so that we can now root the Phone
Then plug in Phone
Click Reset on ODIN then in PDA put in CF-Root Kernel File for JVU to be Rooted
CF-Root is in ODIN FILES or DOWNLOAD HERE
Then Click START.. should take just a few seconds ....
Same again when you see S Logo on Phone unplug Cable
Close ODIN
Now, what I do now is go into :
Settings > SD Card and Storage > Unmount SD and Wipe that and then at the bottom Wipe Format USB Storage
Enable USB Debugging > Plug in Phone
Window should open up showing your phone Directory..
Copy over your ROM that you want
Shut Down Phone
Reboot into Recovery (Vol UP - Menu - Power)
Wipe the 4 things (probably know these... you should do)
Data / Factory Reset
Cache Partition
Go to Advanced > OK
Dalvik Cache
Battery Stats
Go Back > OK
To move Up or Down > Use the Left Side Volume Rocker Switches with Menu to OK Action
Install your Custom ROM from Zip Card that you want...
Reboot Phone when complete... DONE!
At the end it says, install your Custom ROM from Zip Card. I do not understand what is Custom ROM and which Zip Card.
about da custom ROM, IF u wanna to upgrade from 2.3 to 4.0 or 4.1 or 4.2 only, u dont need to do it, juz finish at unplug when u see s logo, thats all, n setting up ur fone
if u wanna to root ur fone, flash cf root given by link by putting CFROOT OXAxx xxxx x in odin in PDA section with untick repartition, n flash kernel, thats all n ur fone will be rooted.
custom ROM can be choose in i9000 development section n there will be zip file ur talking about, but if u already ok with 2.3.6, dont upgrade. n dont ask stupid question there (its DEV section for god sake)

Thanks for clearing my doubts.
I know, some of my questions are stupid, newbie here. That is why I have posted in "Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" section and not in "Galaxy S I9000 Development section".
But you have been great help.
