OC and init.d scripts in stock? Is it possible? - Samsung Galaxy Mini

I wonder if I can OC my phone and install init.d scripts withouth flashing a custom rom. Is it possible? How?
Thanks in advance

yeah it is possible there are stock firmware oc kernel, download them according to your current firmware
init.d can be used on stock roms with the help of a command "busybox run-parts", many tut are there to enable it

Could you please point me out where are those kernels and the tutorial you mention? I can't seem to find them...

Request tun.ko for Lg Optimus 2X v20l

Hi everyone,
I need tun/tap driver to get openvpn working. I know some kernel/rom have that, like CM, neoblaze, djdroid etc. But I want to keep stock kernel with stock rom because I have tried every roms and the stock one satisfies me the best! But it only lacks tun driver !
Can somebody compile a tun.ko file working with the stock rom and kernel? Thank you.
I've tried and I don't think it's possible. tun.ko requires the kernel to export the symbol "outer_cache" which it does not. (only tegra kernel seems to be missing this as default...). It's an easy fix, but to use the generated module you would have to replace the kernel as well (to one that exports the required symbol)
Thank you for you answer.
I have tried to do that too and wasted 2 hours. I wonder if I do it right. I downloaded not the aosp kernel but the v20l kernel source from http://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource-detail.jsp?detailCustomerModelCode=LGP990. I used this tutorial http://stevechui.blogspot.com/2011/10/compiling-kernel-modules-tunko-for.html. But the Lg sources doesn't include the tegra folder.
ergoen, you seem to say that you managed to create a tun.ko file with a slightly modified stock kernel ? That would be what I search for.
just flash spica HP kernel SR2 and if you want flash the PP7. it does support tun.ko and cifs.ko already tried. good luck if you want to try (in his kernel it's not module but it's on built in driver)
i use vpn to my office with vpnc connection and it good to go
here is the link if you want to download vpnc connection
Code:
http://code.google.com/p/get-a-robot-vpnc/downloads/list
just download the vpnc connection.apk don't download anything else in there
Or try the Modaco custom kernel r26 with GR5. You can get a nearly stock phone with that.

It's not possible to keep stock kernel and just add the modules as if... You have to recompile the whole kernel and flash it... So why doing this as other kernel based in stock sources are available? Install SR2 kernel from spica and it will be perfect. A you perhaps... Know if you change only kernel it won't affect your /system, so you ROM will be stock like...
Don't waste time trying to make things that have already been made and working.

Because I tested other kernels and even if there are lots of improvement authors do, there are some bugs they introduce (ex: neoblaze => tethering not working, thanatos 4.2 => mybackuppro not working, cm7 => hdmi partialy working, djdroid => changements I don't like, etc) or changements I don't like. That's why I like the principle of using the stock rom/kernel as long as everything works.
I don't know about spica kernel, it's the only one I've not tried with swiftextreme. I will try it maybe later because restoring apps takes some time.

Flashing kernel doesn't touch /data you don't need to restore apps.
NeoBlaze seems not working with 20L. swiftextreme works only with CM7.
Hey there,
i've just built tun.ko vor v20l stock kernel.
Added a "struct outer_cache_fds outer_cache" in tun.c to replace a missing symbol in the stock kernel.
Greetings
Thank you so much tantalus! Although today I just installed Django with spica kernel (so with tun), that file should be usefull to other people!

What happens if you try flashing darktremor?
By the way, why did you return to stock firmware?
Maybe kernel don't support.

Proper support for dutch language And the stock look of gingerbread, wich i like. BUt if there is no way to get a2sd to work then i go straight back to cm7. Darktremor a2sd does not do anything, in terminal it says illegall command and a2sdgui says something is wrong. Also ad2sdx does not work, s2e does not work.
It won't work, since you're on the stock ROM with stock kernel. You need kernel that supports A2SD.

WHat kernel supports stock rom and a2sd? Thanks in advance
Any Gingerbread kernel that is marked as suitable for AOSP or AOSP/CM7 should do. Look at the kernel threads, this info will most likely be in the thread title.

There are so many kernels... Bloody hell! Anyways i would like to use a kernel that is suitable for ad2sdx. Can you please also provide install instructions? (noob here)
Thanks in advance
Install instructions are pretty much straightforward. Reboot to recovery, flash kernel, reboot, see that OS is loading and feels fine, reboot to recovery, flash A2SD, reboot, see that everything's still fine, open Terminal Emulator or A2SDGUI, configure what you want.

[Q] Need Froyo Custom Rom

I need a Froyo based custom ROM for my galaxy mini.
I am facing some wifi issues with the gingerbread roms like cm7,emanon and also ics based ones.
I need a Custom ROM based on froyo. Also my galaxy mini, when running stock froyo ROM(ddka7) lags frequently.
To be able to use wifi at my home i need froyo roms.
Can you guys please suggest any Froyo based custom ROM for sgm. Also do the stock Froyo Roms of sgm support init.d ?
Please Reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.
Really ? If you need to flash Custom ROM you need ClockWorldMod Recovery (CWMR), and CWM need Gingerbread to work !
So answer is = NO
we have cwm for froyo but no custom rom. so bad luck
init.d?

[Q] How to enable zRam in UltimatumXY -b2- ROM

I like UltimatumXY -b2- ROM a lot. HALO and PIE features are really cool but I don't know how to setup zRam. Can anybody help me with that???
There is no options in settings>Performance like cyanogenmod and I've tried Terminal Emulator like so:
Code:
$ su
# zram enable
sh: zram: not found
#
Is there any other way to do it? Or is this feature not supported?

Only way is to extract it from cm zip and flash via odin. But,in my opinion, devil kernel is better, faster and very smooth. and you can find flashable zip here on xda in development section(last one is from 24/6/2013). In OP you have devil tool app also. I hope this helps

and if you like ultymatum rom and features....try carbon unofficial rom by aways, you will have halo, pie and even ribbons from aokp(i prefer ribbons over pie).also with devil kernel
