My Nexus 7 Review - Nexus 7 General

I know some people here are unsure about the Nexus7. I created a quick review video on the Nexus7 after having it for 3 weeks, going out of town with it, flashing and etc. I used the device like others on this forum would. Please +1 it if you find it useful.

Honeycomb Campaign!

This is to everyone with a Streak 7 (with 3 minutes of spare time)!
I want everyone to pop a post here:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/mobile-devices/f/3824/t/19391686.aspx
Saying how you really expect Honeycomb and how it would be very poor service from Dell if we didn't get it.
Please don't dis Dell, or play them down or call them bad because we haven't had the update yet, im sure that wouldn't provoke them for answers. Just maybe how you would find it very poor if we didn't get it. Im sure you get the picure.
I will not stop until there's hundreds of different users with post's on that thread!
I've been to that forum, I don't think Dell read their own forum.
Yeah but serioualy though,
3 minutes to sign up and post.
Theres replies there from dell, but only with the post's that stick.
My whole point.
I'm going to try their twitter accounts...
Thats cool, but take the time to post on the Dell post only takes 3 minutes.
If every 1 here interested in Honeycomb for the streak 7 did, that would a few hundred, along with the other sites hope to make it over 500 after a few months. Then maybe news sites with rs feeds might take a bit of notice.
Maybe high hopes, but a few hundred over few months greatly increase the chance of response from dell.
Like mentioned theres responses from dell there but only with posts that stick.
You must not have much experience with dell. Dell only cares about customers who haven't paid them yet. But I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

While I appreciate you taking the time in making a video, I really don't see the need or value in it.
There are already dozens (probably more) of Nexus 7 unboxings for the 8GB and 16GB models. The 32GB is identical in every way, outside of the internal flash chip. Nothing new to see.
Of course, you are right, there may be many others unboxing video about Nexus 7 in 16Gb and 8GB version.
Maybe someone hasn't seen them yet and wants to see directly the 32gb one.
Maybe I'm giving more technical specs than others, maybe not (did you see my video before this post?).
Maybe someone wants to know what version does this nexus come with?! Maybe not!
I shoot this video just for my pleasure (and I hope for someone else pleasure too!), at night ('cause I have a job and a family) and, most of all, without earining a single damn penny for it.
I'm sorry if I did bore you: next time maybe you can even just skip a thread like this if you are not interested!
Thanks
Too many unboxing videos and reviews also 32gb have nothing different specs wise except 16+gb. And yes there are 32gb reviews in YouTube already.

i watched it, and while we appreciate you doing the video its nothing new. maybe when u get that nexus 10 you should do another. unboxing videos are more for unreleased devices or devices everyone is waiting on and can't wait so watching youtube unboxing videos excites us. there isn't much to be excited about as most of us have nexus 7's already, in 8/16/32gb variants. but, thanks anyway
What's the difference of unboxing 32gb one from 16gb one other than the invisible on camera additional 16bg storage.
There's nothing new to see there sorry pal.

I tried to report as many technical specs as I could in the video. If you watched it, you can remember when I talked about the downclocked frequencies of the GPU. I haven't seen many videos having in deep review of technical aspects. Maybe someone could appreciate it, while someone else just doesn't care.
That's why I though that this unboxing could be interesting.
Anyway, no one is forcing you all from watching it if you don't care. I lost my sleep time for shooting these videos and it's not that nice reading some of you saying the video is useless without even watchin' it!

You seem to be missing the point. No one is attacking you for making the video. Everyone has been polite about the matter (except for you). What everyone is simply saying is, that there is no purpose in making an "unboxing" video for a product that was released 4 months ago. No one is going to watch it since everyone here already unboxed their own. The purpose of those types of videos is for when a product first comes out, so people who haven't picked theirs up yet, or are on the fence about buying one, can see what it's all about. And while your video might have some more technical information in it, most people on XDA are already well familiar with the specs and details. And the fact that it has 32GB is irrelevant. It's like making a duplicate car test drive video for a new model that has a different A/C filter in it.
Lastly, if all you wanted was positive feedback, you probably shouldn't have posted anything on the Internet in the first place.
"Useless" = every post in this thread except the OP.
OP: it's better to just ignore these comments and not respond. Thanks for the video.

Am I asking you for a positive feedback? Can you please point me where?
I'm open to any possible feedback, when the feedback it's a constructive one.
I don't think I've been unkind or unpolite in any ways. Instead, I do think it's unpolite and even unfair to judge someone else video without even watching it. As well as it's unpolite (and not only) to believe to be representative of a whole community. Do you think XDA is made up only of skilled people? Do you think the whole XDA members live in Us?
I do perfectly know what does an unboxing video means as well as I know Nexus 7 was announced in June and went on the market middle July in Us and Australia. But maybe you don't remember that not every country has Nexus 7 yet, or that maybe in some others it went on sale later (here in Italy nexus 7 @16GB started being sold on late September/ beginning of October, while Nexus 7 @32Gb will start at middle November).
Having these thoughts in my mind and considering that I tried to be as more technical as I can, I just though that this unboxing could be useful to someone, if not, I'm not forcing anyone in watching it.
Thanks for your constructive feedback anyway.

Way to be eloquent by calling people names. Maybe people just have seen TOO MANY of these type of videos already when the it was first released many months ago?

this, was the most useless. the OP asked "tell me what you think". so everyone did, in a pretty polite way. this thread should just be locked. its a 3-4 month old device. no one is dying for the device to be released or leaked photos, its been out. not to mention he already opened the device, took off the plastic, and just put it back in to make a video. should be called a nexus 7 review video, not a unboxing.

People who have issue with the video, why don't you guys just skip it. As per your logic there are several flavors of AOSP roms, and people should stick with only one and rest of the dev simply call it a day. If you guys cannot appreciate someone's work then don't criticize is either.

Nexus 4 tracking spreadsheet

Hey, I was viewing reddit and someone made a neat spreadsheet to help people track kind of estimate their shipping info. I know there is a shipping/tracking thread, but I thought this was neat enough to deserve its own thread. If the mods decide it's not, that's totally cool. Also, I did a quick search on this site to see if this has been posted yet, I did not see it, so forgive me if I missed that.
Anyways, It's not the most reliable source since there could be a ton of issues, like people not updating once they get their tracking number or phone, or people selecting the wrong country, but it is something.
Here's a link to the reddit post:
http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus4/comments/14ah75/spreadsheet_to_track_nexus_4_shipping_any_country/
Link to putting in your own info:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHhabEZuYjJIUEdwNFd0TkJrNmY1amc6MQ
Link to compare what others have put (the actual spreadsheet):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmM6lFxEl6RMdHhabEZuYjJIUEdwNFd0TkJrNmY1amc
Like I said, take this with a grain of salt, but I think it's good for helping us roughly (and by that, I mean VERY roughly) estimate when we should be getting our phones.
Thanks for this. Found a useful tracking sheet, how to find out the status of my order AND a new reddit community to join. 3 for the price of 1.
Doing God's work son!

Selling my Nexus 10 Arcade!

Hey guys. Photon here! I posted a photo of the project I had been working on awhile back called the Nexus 10 Arcade! For those of you who don't remember, the images are attached below. The auction can be found here.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331014368034?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
I have decided to sell it on ebay to fund some other projects of mine. I am posting it on here because I know a lot of people really admired it when I posted it the first time. To see it in action, check out the links below.

It was definitely a fun project to work on, and I will probably do it again and again should it stay popular like this.

C'Mon man!

Whilst YouTube and other similar blog sites rave about the Note 9, this forum seems to put the hate on by being picky about everything with a few "I'm returning mine for an iPhone 4" comments chucked in.
Come on man....
This is a good phone.

Yeah, every new phone gets a slew of threads about how horrible it is and all the defects. Check any forum!
A lot of them get the devices free.... If I got it for free, i'd be down for it
And the same threads posted over and 9ver when there are already multiple threads. And the root threads. No research done but I NEED my root and somebody to hold my hand while I try to root when there is no root. I should start a thread about text reflow which was deprecated with 4.4, I think, and how it doesn't work on note 9. They should make a tissue box section. And if you don't post correctly in other sections your thread gets moved to tissue box section.
