So my first 16GB had the infamous screen separation issue. I decided to return it, the replacement arrived today. However when i was packing back the first N7 i saw that it has a small chip on the gray trim (no idea how i got it). Do you guys think i'll get charged? It's kind of making me weary as i don't want to be charged.
You're fine. Stop being a worry wart
You can say the chip happened during shipping. Even with the most packaging, a hard enough fall can damage the product. I worked for fed ex a few years ago and when we dropped a package we just squinted and kept going lol. S*it happens

Yeah, you'll be fine.

i was wondering if anybody knows where i can get waterproof case for dell streak something like this would be great http://www.androidcentral.com/android-case-review-aquapac-weather-resistant-case
appreciate the help
aquapac do loads, so there should be one that fits it.
I had one of the very first aquapacs and used it for a couple of years, don't know how well it would work with a capacitive screen though.
Got one, bought it years ago for my n95 but it used toget lost as inside it as it was typo big. But guess what its a perfect size for the dell. Although a bit tight with the head phones. But the you wouldn't have head phones as the wire doesn't allow it to be watertight. Although you can get some with water proof head phones. Also capacitive screen works a treat.

Take a look here:
ThinkGeek Waterproof Cases
I don't have first hand experience with this.
Waterproof cases
Well i was looking for one, my brother has this case ordered from Thinkgeek, but its not reliable and he rechanged it. I got one from Chinabuye last month this waterproof cases, its cool and its quite protective as it was raining here last month. Reliable and good rate, worth for money.
So a few weeks ago I ordered Body Glove's plastic case with a kickstand on the back and apparently I paid too much for it. After putting it on my phone for the first time it immediately froze and I needed to use scissors to get it off. It scratched the back of my HD2 and every time I need to slide it off the phone it gets worse. Worse, the kickstand makes a loud click sound every time it's opened and doesn't seem like it'll last long.
Since I ordered both through T-Mobile do you think they would give me a new battery cover for free? They gave me my money back for the case but I didn't ask about the battery cover.
Well, seeing as you purchased both threw Tmobile, then i don't see any reason why they shouldn't help you with the prob
To tell you the truth, TMobile's customer service sucks, i had problems with my HD2 in fact i went through 5 handsets. I called and they were sending me my sixth one but it took 97 days to arrive. According to their exchange policy you have 90 days from the order date to return the defective handset or they charge you a restocking fee. ($490.00) and they charged me even though i hadnt recieved my replacement and would take the charge off my bill, i left them because of this, they are cheap and they arent in this for the customers.
sent from the phone that is EVO
body glove cover
i have had NO issues and love this case..1st off i never had the battery cover on with my case on so that's why mine has no scratches i guess? it just made since to me to keep it off since the soft reset is behind it. i have even drilled i little hole in the body glove plastic so i can reset it with out removing anything..i like the clear case and even added a sticker to the battery, so that it can be seen threw the case.
i have had the best luck with mine and wouldn't buy any other case....the stand holds up great and as long as your don't abuse it, "it will last" the noise how ever does seem to get softer as it gets worn in, but why does it matter?lol

I must confess that I doubt the veracity of the OP's story. I have had nothing but the best service with TMobile, and I've been with them nearly 5 years. 97 days for a replacement? Case that causes phone to freeze? I have had replacements: less than 7 days. I use the case: best ever.
i kinda dissappointed with the scratch resistance of nexus 7. i use moko case since i bought the nexus but now i find a soft scratch on my screen. I use it moderately, i keep it in my bag inside the case, i never knock the screen with any hard object, so the only thing i could think off that can scratch my screen is when i wipe the screen using my clothes and the dust scratch it. What makes me disappointed is, N7 is advertised using gorilla glass (or at least protection from corning if i'm mistaken), is it really that easily to scratch? My nexus S screen has no scratch whatsoever except a crack on where i dropped it which is acceptable because it's my mistake, but i use my N7 carefully and i still manage to scratch it. Did anyone have the same issue?
My next issue is a little dent on the side of the N7. Like i said earlier, i used it moderately (not too careful but not careless). I did place my N7 inside a bag with other stuffs (my phone, wallet, maybe some coin in there), i keep it inside the moko case, it did expose the side of the N7 (which makes me think to buy another case), but even my naked nexus s made from plastic did not have any dent other than when falling from my hand.
My next issue is my N7 is not charging properly, might be from the power outlet or from the N7 itself. I was travelling to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Fransisco and i notice that my N7 is not charging when i plug it to the power outlet using the original N7 charger. I need to turn off my N7, unplug the microUSB cable from my N7, and then re-plug it in order to be able to charge it. And when i turn it on again, it stop charging. Sometimes it keep charging even though it gives no charging indication sometimes it not. It kinda doesn't make any sense to not be able to charge from the wall power outlet (not from PC usb) while my sister can charge her ipad just fine and his husband can charge his asus transformer prime just fine. It happens not only in 1 hotel but from many hotels and many other cities. Well, i can charge just fine in my house but yesterday i find out that my N7 suddenly stop charging when i play a game, i have to re-plug the cable in order to make it charged again. I want to send it in for a replacement, but i afraid it will charge me a fees because of the screen scratch and the dent thingy.
overall, i'm so not impressed by the built quality of the N7. the tablet itself offer perfect user experience.
Can't speak first your first 2 paragraphs. But the last one I might have an answer. I notice you are from jakarta, and you travelled to america and complained about the charging issues there. Well; I'm not sure what outlets you have in jakarta but im almost positive it's not the same as North America. So I assume you were using an adapter. Regardless of what adapter you have and what not; it's not going to charge properly no matter what the adapter papers say to you. My girlfriend has a kobo vox and we went to europe back in june and we charged it there and it would last at the max maybe 2-3 hrs when it's supposed to be rated at 7 hrs constantly on with wi-fi.
nah, i live in NY, i order it from play store. =(

That's the Twitter effect, anything more than 140 characters and your brain seizes up, come back and join the real world.
At the OP re scratches - using your clothes to wipe a class surface is never going to be a good thing, you have no idea what might be on them, tiny bits of grit for example can scratch your screen easily. It's common sense to protect your investment by using a screen protector and when you can buy one for next to nothing it's surely a no brainer?
Fist off the screen is like any other gorilla glass screen its not scratch proof its scratch resistant. Its was probably sand that got your tablet should of bought a screen protector. Erica on xda TV has a really good video on it explain just about everything about glass tempering here is the link.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfgKLwGnOZs&feature=youtube_gdata_player.Well next I'd say to do is check the cable and charger there can be issues there. It also could be a charging issue from the charging port or cable corroding it happened to my galaxy nexus and it I just bought the dock and use the pogo pins for charging.

Careful, the N7 doesnt have Gorilla Glass at all, it has "Scratch-resistant Corning Glass"

The charger issue seems odd to me, I've only heard of issues so far when using third party chargers which are too weak.
And the dent is odd.. Horrible luck possibly? I know i have dents like that on my laptop from things smacking the corner of my messenger bag (like a subway turnstyle) so I keep my N7 in a hard case. I dont trust those book style cases for real protection :|
Looks like I'll have to report this to my boss we will get on these issues right away

Try switching to another USB cable these new cables are pretty terrible and can crap out on you. I have some that charge but don't pass data anymore and some that don't charge or do anything else.
Even though it's just hardened glass it's still created almost the same way and still scratches with sand. I think the moral of this is always use a screen protector no matter what. And that charging issue will most likely be replaced by Google for free if you bought it from the play store. Here is the Google play numbers device help line number (855) 836-3987 I'm pretty sure its a 100% toll free.

Probably sands that scratched your screen :$
Seriously, I would suggest you to call google for a replacement. You can find their number on google.com/nexus

So i droped my nexus last night it bounced off my night stand on the way to the ground and when i picked it up it was off. figured wtf hitt the button.
nope it stayed off
press and held the buttons and tried to get it to reset ect. no go it was dead. connected it to the charger and tried again. got a back light but nothing else.
so did the non tech thing (smacked it a few times and pressed the power , came up flaky screen was kind of scrambled. great i trashed my nexus by droping it.
so called Google they made me do all the stuff i already did, no surprise its dead.
they told me to call asus for support. , went to asus site they wanted my sn to make a case, couldn't find find it i know i registered it. they told me i would need to send it in they would charge me 65 to issue a new serial number WTF! and then if the repair was not in warnty it would cost 165 to fix the nexus. 65+165 is more than a new nexus 16 (what i have). so i said thanks but no thanks.
so as i sat and stared at my paperweight i thought why not. i got a razor blade and a butter knife. used the razor to crack the edge of the case off and then popped the back off with the butter knife.
looked around and noticed those wonderful overworked china drones routed one of the wires for the battery round the backside of a plastic support pin. this made the wire very tight and it pulled the connector off the main board on one side of the battery connector creating a short. i pushed the wire on the right side of the support pin and reset the power connector and bam nexus back to life.
so if you dropped your nexus and it boot loops and or just wont turn on when off the charger. open it up and check the battery wires bet you got the same cross eyed Chinese tech and the battery unplugged itself
Thanks for the tip. I use a TPU case for my Nexus 7.

Drop it (multiple times), smack it around, then take a RAZOR BLADE to it?! Good lord.
No surprises here.... None at all....
Cool story bro. Glad you fixed it. I fix most of my stuff too. I'm a techy guy and probably more qualified then the drones that work at the factories.
Just like my wife's Samsung Netbook (back when netbooks were cool). She insisted taking it out by the bonfire where some friends and I were drinking. I told her countless times to take it in before a full glass of red Merlot gets dumped right in the keyboard. She runs inside and plugs it into the wall??!!!
I took it apart and cleaned it up but the keyboard was hosed. I called Samsung for a replacement keyboard but they wouldn't sell me one. I had to send it in. When it got there, I got a call about purple stuff in there and thus the warranty was voided. I said yeah no ****, I told you guys we dumped wine in there. She wanted to charge me $75 for the keyboard and $125 an hour. I laughed and said I only paid $220 for it, for $200 I'd rather buy a new one and see if the old one would Blend.
Bought the keyboard off eBay for $16 and she still uses it like 4 years later.

So I purchased a phone off craigslist in NY, (The phone itself doesn't have a scratch on it) for $210. Seemed like a reasonable deal, so I gave the guy the money, gave the phone a good one over and I was on my way, Of course he neglected to mention that it had a bad battery (turns off if I used the camera or if it drops below 65%, battery swell that caused the back plate to protrude, bla bla bla), I should have realized the sighs as per below.
1. Ensure trust: He ran out to check on his double parked car and left his wallet right in front of me (in a Starbucks).
2. Deceit: He claimed to sell phones as a side gig but offered to purchase my old scratched note 3.
3. Bull ****: Though I'm just a simple technical specialist at my job, he made feel like I was the man. He claims to have his own design firm with pending patents holding him back at the moment.
I had the itch and it clouded my better judgment, fortunately I purchased a replacement battery from eBay for $11, followed some simple instructions on YouTube, 45 minutes later some superflex glue, a screw driver (T3 or T4 not sure I have a complete set) and all is well. The screws in this phone are in very tight so those cheap sets will not cut it.
