Is there another file explorer that does everything ES does?
Root and samba server?
ES keeps crashing when I use it to access my shared folders on my PC.

Is there an easy way to browse files in the Windows' shared folder?
ie. to copy/play mp3s,videos,documents, etc stored in your windows file server from nexus one.
cheers
ASTRO File manager, EStrongs Explorer.
In general on any non-Windows platform, if you'd like to access Windows file shares, look for a program that supports "SAMBA".

I second E strong. Fantastically easy setup.
Are you sure Astro does samba ?
Latest update brings the ability to load 2 add-on modules, one for Samba and one for BT. Both are free on the market, but need to be downloaded in addition to Astro main module.
Thanks guys, the Astro file manager works great!
Hi guys i want to move a mp3 ringtone to internal storage on my OB also i cant create a folder. Please help me guys i have the latest CM nightly, Thanks in advance!
Take root explorer or ES File Explorer to do the task. You need to mount your filesystem, to be able to write. Then just Copy and paste it
how do i do that ? i already have root explorer and es file explorer
You have to enable it in the settings of ES File Explorer.

Open ES file manager push menu/options button, settings, scroll down to root explorer, check the box, click allow this app to have SuperUser rights and save the setting (check box), mount datasystem (/ and /system mount) (it s a checkbox below root explorer), copy your file and paste it wherever you want to

I used ES file explorer earlier and it had cloud exploring feature like dropbox, box...etc.
es file explorer and solid explorer
Fixed please close
I have the same problem with es file manager. It seems like it can´t get root access. Root file explorer works so i have root but it´s interesting to know why.
My network connection says it is 72MB, but when I copy a file from the phone to a PC via ES File Explorer, it is only moving at 300kb. This is a fairly new phenomena for me.
Any thoughts on what might be the problem?
